I think when the placenta takes over it os around 7-8 weeks Ann that is when my symptoms quadrupled last time Grin oh the morning sickness Sad

kep1979 · 03/03/2015 16:19

Yeah I think I started being sick at about 8 weeks with my last pregnancy - also didn't get BFP until 15dpo (and all negatives until then), so am assuming that it will be a bit earlier this time as got BFP at 10dpo.

I would love the glow too - but not expecting it Smile. I am so bloated today my suit trousers are creating a lovely(!) overhang! And I'm only a size 8 so it is very noticeable... thank goodness for big scarves!

CishAndFips · 03/03/2015 16:49

Well just been for a nap and woke up feeling mega nausea. It's strangely reassuring never thought i would feel so happy to feel like crap. I was so nervy with ds i had two very early mc before that one litterally weeks before so tryong to be much calmer this time hence why i havent been googling or testing although its very tempting.

wtfishappening · 03/03/2015 17:11

8 weeks was when my HG kicked in last time.

BowiesJumper · 03/03/2015 17:34

Something to look forward to! Grin

Focus, you're a day ahead of me! haha, at this stage a day makes all the difference, I love opening the pregnancy + app and seeing the days tick over! (saddo).

verybookish · 03/03/2015 17:38

Hello - may I join? My due date is 31/10 or 01/11 depending on which app you ask. So, currently in week 6. It's finally starting to feel less surreal (thank you achey boobs, nausea and bladder) but - negative thinking alert - I am scared to get too excited because part of me is thinking: why should this work out for me first time around, if it does not for so many other women? I know...these are slightly silly thoughts to have but a tiny part of my brain just can't shake them (the rest of my brain goes: YAY!).
Anyhow.. I am looking forward to a healthy and happy 9 months with you guys!

BowiesJumper · 03/03/2015 17:54

Very I have the exact same thoughts don't worry!! Welcome!

Crumbelina · 03/03/2015 18:01

Oh my - it gets much worse in week 7-8? I'm feeling rubbish already in week 6!

Very I had those thoughts with my first and although I had some minor complications at the end of my pregnancy overall everything went well. I worried so much, but it was fine. So try and enjoy it all as much as you can. My DS is now 16months old and beating me up as I type Grin This time around I am thinking "eveverything went pretty well last time, DS was healthy, what makes me think it will go well again" but I try to push those thoughts away!

Crumbelina it doesn't always get worse! For me it did around 7 weeks til about 20 weeks, 20 weeks til 32 weeks were a breeze then 33 weeks til the end were hard again. Some lucky ladies start feeling better around 7-9 weeks and they stay that way Smile fingers crossed it goes like that for all of usGrin

Crumbelina · 03/03/2015 18:41

Wow, 7-20 weeks Mulligrubs, you poor thing! I'l try and stay optimistic ...

The one strange thing about morning sickness is that it's so common and yet I've never seen any women be sick in the street, on the tube, or heard anyone in the work loos etc. I guess people are good at hiding it or I'm in my own world most of the time. Probably the latter ...

ReeRee86 · 03/03/2015 19:43

I feel so crazy wishing to feel poorly but you just want something that feels real don't you?! I feel like a right fraud at that minute! I'm sure I'll be moaning when it kicks in though!

6 weeks tomorrow - my seasame seed becomes a grain of rice!

ShortLashes · 03/03/2015 20:18

verybookish I feel exactly the same way! It's an odd place to be. Someone recommended www.yourduedate.com/ and I found that to be the most helpful calculator (with some bonus superstitious nonsense fun facts thrown in!

Crumbelina · 03/03/2015 20:35

Verybookish, have a look at the spacefem link I posted earlier - if you're in week 6 then your odds of a miscarriage are something like 4-8% now.

babyhector · 04/03/2015 06:58

Hello all, may I join to? I got my BFP this morning on CD30 after ttc since August 2014 for baby 1. This month we went away for a lovely break around valentines day and totally relaxed, trying to say it will happen when it happens. Though it was always on my mind.

Any way - my cycle is normally 26-29 days long. On Friday cd25 I had one spot of fresh blood and thought I was out. Saturday back to nothing. Just very small amounts of wet/sticky cm but pants dry. Noticed I was very thirsty at work and then had both sides of pelvis aching on cd27. Thought I was out. So I awoke again today (wed) after a terrible nights sleep to find no af. Decided to test to put me out of my agony. Well FMU - two lines in seconds. Shocked but so relieved after all those disappointing cycles. Due date is between 8-10th November, making me 4w+1.

Can't believe I'm finally posting ... I've been reading this post for 6 months!

Here's hoping its a happy healthy 9 months ... Rather nervous, first pregnancy.
Xx

Focusfocus · 04/03/2015 07:11

Welcome baby hector! It all seems unreal doesn't it, especially if it's a first! I am the same way, and been happily shocked into a bfp first cycle at 10'dpo which I then repeated twenty times to believe and still test each day. Grrrr.

newbian · 04/03/2015 08:49

I'm 6 weeks today Smile

The nausea I had a few days ago has gone. I'm having a bit of cramping but the main symptom is FATIGUE. I struggle to wake up in the morning and am ready for bed by 9:30 PM. I'd take naps during the day if I could too.

Has any of you told family/friends yet? We've told our parents so far because even if anything did go wrong I would want them to be there for us. I also had to tell my boss because I was scheduled to go on a work trip and the doctor advised me against it (it's somewhere that requires shots and travel medicine that's not confirmed safe for pregnancy).

Mulligrubs · 04/03/2015 09:00

Welcome and congratulations everyone!

Focusfocus I am testing nearly every day too. I ordered some digital tests from Boots as well which will arrive today and I am so excited Blush

newbian I think I waited til I was about 8 weeks before I told parents last time. Not sure when to tell them this time!

WinterBabyof89 · 04/03/2015 09:05

newbian not told parents yet.. We did straight away with my first two pregnancies though & it was nice for them to know.
This time we're keeping it to ourselves for as long as possible - aiming for 16 weeks so we can have a gender scan before telling them.. Grin

The only thing that could scupper my plans is my DS accidentally mentioning something that he's heard in conversation at a scan/midwives.. Ha trying to distract him as much as possible in every appt!

How's everyone feeling today?

Welcome babyhector and congratulations! You're in the right place if you're nervous. We're all nervous on here but I do think that's normal! Let's all be positive.. we are all going to be fine and our babies are going to be born lovely and healthy at full term! (tries hard to be convincing!)

We have told our parents for the same reason newbian plus they know we have been struggling to conceive and my mum has been a massive support every step of the way so I wouldn't feel right not sharing it with her early on! I also think that if anything did go wrong (fingers crossed, touch wood and all that jazz!) then we would tell them anyway and they would worry if I got preggers again so would never get the untainted joy of finding out. If that makes sense! Very personal choice though, it has to be what ever you feel comfortable with doesn't it?

Welcome and congratulations on your BFPs.

Dp thinks only me and him know but in reality i've told my dad as well. The rest of my family think the sudden hospital appointments have been for an eye infection. Its my birthday in April so was hoping to tell them on my birthday. Not telling my boss for a while hopefully. Although techincally i am self employed.

This chest infection i have is wiping me out, but i can't sleep and the pharmacist has said i can't have any cough medicines. How is everyone feeling today.

BowiesJumper · 04/03/2015 09:39

Morning!
I've told my parents and siblings but that's it. And that was because I was going to the docs and my mum wanted to know why (she was worried!). I may tell my best friend this weekend but apart from that will keep it under my hat until at least 12wks. I won't be doing a Facebook announcement that's for sure!
