We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

Hi ladies,

Hope your dd gets better soon number

Hugs to all hose not feeling so good or having a tough time.
Just had20 week scan and all looks good... phew. Was irrationally anxious about this pregnancy as it's been so different, but now we no why. Our two boys are going to have a sister Grin

olympicsrock · 11/03/2015 11:07

Hello Raines, pleased to hear your good news. Lovely for the boys to have a little sister.
My scan this morning was all good. We are having a 2nd little boy so that is lovely. We have a boy's name we love so that is good.
Well done Broody for the new client - hope your little girl gets well soon.
Fingers crossed for Blaze's scan too.
Right time to get all the cute little blue stripy onesies down from the garage...

Raines100 · 11/03/2015 14:04

Thanks Olympic. I thoroughly recommend 2 boys. Mine are brothers and best friends. I've got to get all my blue stuff down, go through it, and give the good stuff to my SIL, who is due in April. Think there might be a tear or two...

Aretepetite · 11/03/2015 14:47

Hello all

Just popped in to say hi to everyone x
I haven't read back!
Just met my dd for lunch and a bit of browsing. Been up 4-5 times last couple of nights for the loo and it's taking its toll on me during the day. This I can deal with. Thank God the persistent 'hung over' feelings have gone.

Hope everyone else is well x

Thanks all. She's doing ok at the min but only had about 20 minutes sleep on the way to my folks this morning so tonight will be tough (she's more rubbish at night when she's either not had any nap or just a little one!) I'm shattered :(

Sherbet38 · 11/03/2015 18:40

Hi everyone

Thanks to La for the advice on pelvic floor exercises. I'll persist and hope I'm getting the right!

Raises & Olympics I'm glad you're scans went well [smile

Broody sorry to hear about the chicken pox Sad

I have a very active baby today, very distracting (but obviously lovely) in work. I had to go for a walk from my desk to try and lull is to sleep so I could get some work done! Wink

Mrsc020987 · 12/03/2015 10:36

Congratulations to all scan news, I must be one of the last still waiting. Tomorrow morning and I cant wait! My last post I mentioned driving lessons, theory is booked 2 weeks today, and I've done 10 hours lessons. The company I go with don't do 1 hour lessons its a min of 2, and I get really stressy about needing the toilet every time. I had one lesson and he asked me to wait for 20 mins, I nearly had a heart attack! My driving goes out the window and he has actually recognised when I need the toilet because I get that bad when I am due to go! Otherwise they are going well and I'm picking up quickly other than reversing round a corner where when I started yesterday I couldn't even tell my left from my right and I was getting so confused I could have cried. I just blamed baby brain, is anyone else having confusion??

Raines100 · 12/03/2015 12:36

I couldn't blame baby brain for my pathetic attempts at reversing around a corner when I was learning, Mrsc. I had to do it in my test, and I know it was iffy. I was taught to reverse looking out the back window over my shoulder, and I still can't do it to this day. I lose all sense of left and right and which way the wheel is facing. Won't help you now, but once you've passed- wing mirrors. That's how you reverse. Took me a year and a scraped wheel arch to figure that out. Good luck with the driving and the scan tomorrow.

Zampa · 12/03/2015 14:45

My driving test is fast approaching!

I'm driving a Toyota Yaris but this trick for reversing around a corner may help...

Reverse until the corner kerb is no longer visible in your left wing mirror. At this point put one full turn to the left on your wheel for a sweeping corner and 1.25 for anything tighter. Then reverse until the kerb of the road you're turning into is in the middle of your rear windscreen then take off the turns you have applied.

It works for me but assume the points may differ for each car.

MuddyWellyNelly · 12/03/2015 15:48

Mrsc I just had my scan today and thought I would be last :) 20+2. All was well which was a big relief, although at least for this one I had the little kicks to reassure me that at least our squirmer was still in there. At my earlier scans I was always assuming the worst. Anyway luckily all seems fine, although it was a bit quicker than I expected. Sizes were a little ahead - head at 20+4 and thigh at 21 weeks. She said they don't really look at the cord though as long as growth is fine, and didn't even mention placenta so I assume it's fine. Anyway I will get later scans (due to my age) so it will all be kept an eye on I'm sure.

No real advice on the reversing around the corner. I took my test over 20 years ago! Good luck for those with their tests soon.

broodylicious · 12/03/2015 15:57

Great news muddy! Fantastic that all is well. Did you find out the sex? If you look at your notes, there'll be a line that says about your placenta position but if she didn't mention it, it's in the optimal position. Funnily enough, our sonographer checked the cord and blood flow, I don't remember them doing that last time.

jmojo · 12/03/2015 16:11

They usually check the cord so they can see it has 2 arteries as just one can be a sign of renal problems. They check this after birth anyway, when the midwife checks the placenta over.

Charliej86 · 12/03/2015 16:13

Eee I'm very excited today, I ordered some new jeans from morhercare, online so only going off picture. I absolutely love them, they're like black wet look so lovely surprise. Even better they are "Reform" so can unpick bump band for them to fit after lil mans arrival. Grin

Fattycow · 12/03/2015 20:38

They checked the cord at my 20 week scan as well. She switched on the colours as well, you could see 3 different arteries in there. Two blue ones and one red (or the other way around). You could even see it pulsing slightly!

OP posts:
jmojo · 12/03/2015 20:56

Two arteries one vein!

broodylicious · 12/03/2015 21:29

Same, fatty! She used that view when looking at the heart and ?liver? Or ?kidneys? Too. Fascinating isn't it?

Zampa · 12/03/2015 22:32

Is anyone playing their lo tunes yet? We just tried some Metallica. Not a peep. Followed up with Debussy and now it's wiggle central. I'm thinking if we can settle on a few tracks to play repeatedly, when lo arrives, re-playing them may be soothing.

BadIdeaBear · 12/03/2015 22:53

Yeah, I played some Bach a while back and that got some jiggling. But I sing a lot and that's seeming to get nothing! Can't just be that baby sleeps through it, cos it's sometimes for five-six hours, so either it chills baby out or it's not popular!
