We are already nearing the halfway point! Some of us have already reached the 20 weeks, the rest will follow suit. Let the countdowns begin!

Here is the stats list, please update them with your scan dates and the sex of you baby (if you know it):

JoY007 yes everyone presumes you get them late on. I didn't realise they were BH for a while either but as they are just uncomfortable I'm not too concerned. Mentioned them to my SIL who is a GP and she wasn't worried either but did comment on how hard it goes. Will mention to MW next week though.

Aretepetite · 10/03/2015 13:08

Hi Ladies and bumps. I had an urge to try name all the bumps but have resisted Grin

Just finished lunch (toast & beans) and lo is doing flips and kicks galore at the moment. I have noticed an increase in movement and reckon it's her growing and me therefore feeling it more. 24 wks today or 23 +4 by lmp! Muddy I third what Zampa & Fatty are saying that it is still just slighty early to be feeling/counting the baby's kicks and movements. They will still be sporadic at the moment. My MW gave me a leaflet re: counting the kicks which begins at 28 weeks and you have to feel 10 movements in every 2 hour period.

No wonder your annoyed Zampa your line manager has such an inconsiderate attitude. Try and ignore. You are doing whats best for you and baby whilst still completing the work i hope What more do they want Angry You are doing everything right afaik ! Flowers
I checked out the lie flat car seats, they are really innovative, if a bit pricey. I would like to invest in the one you have pre-ordered (Cybex q) a discussion will have to be had as I actually was impressed by the Cybex Priam. The costs seems to keep increasing ! Though we are getting a couple of big items handed to us so can't complain.

Ladies suffering from painful braxton hicks Flowers for you. I hope the pain is minimal - keep trying out the different remedies and tips.

Good luck at physio today Fatty both you and Touch sound like you are having a hard time with the pgp Flowers

FX Number that you are able to be conscious during the birth.

Jmojo thanks for helpful info - as always :)

Lala I suggest you have a look at the Cybex cloud Q as suggested by Zampa It may be what your after to make your journeys to Scotland a bit more comfortable for lo ? It is damn pricey though ! I have joined the boots club, I will have to see how to activate the savings. I suppose it will be as you spend. I think we join that much in the beginning it's easy to lose track of what savings are where ! I have yet to get baby monitors. There was a link a before christmas for some really good video ones. We have an NCT nearly new sale on the 21st so I am going to see if I can get a bargain set from there.

I'll also check out the slings at the NCT sale as I think I know what i'm after (Moby) As again they are all really pricey! And I do like a bargain Grin

I know I will have missed some posts, I apologise and for now will blame it on baby brain :) It's Ikea for bumpy and me this afternoon. If I don't get anything for house I will at least get a hotdog - I am hungry or rather We are hungry All The Time

Sorry for the long post.

JoY007 · 10/03/2015 13:15

My GP wasn't either, he said my tummy was soft and urine tested negative for infection. He said it was normal, and to call Labour unit if there is bleeding. Like you, it was until yday that I realised what it was, thought it was my bubba moving Smile

broodylicious · 10/03/2015 13:23

muddy, I asked my mw about movements the other week because so many ladies on here were saying they could feel movement often and I was worried I wasn't yet, despite being a second time mummy. Mw said that by 24/5 weeks, I should be able to feel regular movements but only to expect it every other day and not to expect them every day or at the same times each day/night at that stage. By 28 weeks, there should be a definite, regular pattern that we can notice. I guess that mn is absolutely fantastic for sharing experiences and excitement but sometimes it can cause a lot more worry when it comes to things like this. I just try to remember that everyone and every pregnancy is different and personalSmile

Good luck number with your appt today.

zampa, livid on your behalf! Does your line manager have children? I'd certainly expect them to understand or at least have empathy for your worry if they do! What a jerk. Maybe take a longer tea break in the sunshine this aftySmileThanks

SophieandHerSnail · 10/03/2015 13:24

Hi, haven't been here for ages - I tend to MN on my phone, and loading long threads is a drag... I was Sophie before but have name changed slightly Smile

All going fine here, 23+ something weeks with DC3. I am feeling braxton hicks for whoever else is, I have noticed them much earlier than in my other pregnancies, don't know if it is because my uterus is more knackered this time around!

arete you can get a Moby on ebay for a good price.

My before the baby list is -
free up a bedroom by moving study & spare room in together (which into which room is the big question!)
convince DH we need a new car buy a new car
new buggy - current Maclaren won't last another 3 years so might as well replace it at the beginning. Looking a mountain buggy from ebay.
new baby carrier - don't know who I gave my Kari-me to but I don't have it anymore!
Get all the baby clothes/cloth nappies out of the loft & identify gaps that need filling... Shouldn't be much at all.

fattymcfatfat · 10/03/2015 13:55

well im home. im on crutches. the physio is at the hospital that I go to. I was able to attend two exercise classes and a one on one when needed. I can get acupuncture aswell so may look into that a bit more. I am able to do a few more of the exercises that I was given today (gym ball) so hopefully this will work!

for everyone worrying about movement...dont! its natural to not feel anything yet! some people do some dont. and once you do start feeling it will be sporadic at first. Smile
I have an outfit, 3 babygros and a towel so far! (and my pram and cot) so really need to get sorting stuff!

Aretepetite · 10/03/2015 14:43

Ok Sophie I'll have a look and get bidding Grin

Sorry to hear your suffering so much Fatty I guess the crutches will be more helpful yet inconvenient at the same time ! I hope you get help with school run etc. I don't want to offer any advice on something of which I am no specialist as a wrong move could make it loads worse :( Flowers instead x

Hello Broody :)

School run now, catch you guys later.

Fattycow · 10/03/2015 15:06

I got really upset earlier at my dad. He seems to have forgotten that pregnant women should be handled with extra care and that not all reactions are rational! Thankfully my mum found out about him upsetting me and she supported me. Bloody men thinking you can just switch your hormones off!

Just looked at dd's back. Pus filled spot smack bang in the middle. Arse. Think it could be chickenpox. She looks pale too, despite her normal one hour post lunch nap.

fattymcfatfat · 10/03/2015 15:53

oh dear broody hope she feels better soon.
arete thank you.
fatty I have a dad that forgot I was pregnant. ..his excuse "well theres so many of them now" (this is DC3)
so not exactly caring and tactful Thanks for you.

Fattycow · 10/03/2015 16:01

Thanks for the flowers. My DH will be home soon, so I'm getting loads of cuddles then. Stupid thing is, there really was no reason for any of it. He said something, I objected to a word he used and then everything kicked off...

OP posts:
fattymcfatfat · 10/03/2015 16:18

I do that even when im not pregnant with my dad. he fell out with me because his gf involved herself in an argument I was having with him. nothing to do with her but she jumped in and he didn't talk to me for months!
lots of cuddles are definitely in order, and lots of running around after you. its not nice to fall out with people you love.

Fattycow · 10/03/2015 17:18

I am good with fighting with my dad anyway, but hormones sure aren't helping!

OP posts:
Zampa · 10/03/2015 17:47

Thanks Arete and Broody for supporting my indignation. The odd thing is that my line manager has three children and she often works from home herself. She never comes across particularly well on emails so I'll put it down to that ... Anyway, I watched Call the Midwife over lunch as petty revenge.

Broody hope that it's not chickenpox but get well soon to your DD.

Arete the Cybex Cloud Q is all of the £££ but we managed 10% off at the Baby Show and as we got a half price ex-display Vista, we figured we could justify it. It will arrive in a few weeks so I will report back.

Gottobe - is the bouncer one that goes in a doorway or is it one of the seated ones? I have been pondering getting one of the latter but am unsure as to whether it will be something that doesn't get used.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 10/03/2015 17:52

Just a seated one Zampa. We got an ordinary one from mamas and papas but DD didn't like it was she had to lie too flat and couldn't see anything. They can sit almost upright in the baby bjorn so it was really useful until 6 months when she could sit up on her own (and afterwards when I was in the bath etc). You can collapse it as well so you can take it places with you, we used to take it out to restaurants for lunch when she wasn't big enough yet to go in a highchair as it meant we both had our hands free to eat!

Number3cometome · 10/03/2015 18:00

Oh well the appointment didn't go as I would have hoped. It's a GA for me so will be asleep when baby is born. I have had this before so will just prepare myself.

Zampa · 10/03/2015 18:35

Sorry to hear that Number. Hope that you're not too disappointed.

TouchPauseEngage · 10/03/2015 20:21

fattymc fingers crossed the crutches and gym all help.

For those of you who have been to NCT sales, would you really recommend them? There's one in town on Saturday but I'd have to go into work an hour late to make it. Is it worth it? We need clothes, a bouncer and changing mat. Do they have big things like cots and prams?

TouchPauseEngage · 10/03/2015 20:21

number sorry to hear that Flowers

olympicsrock · 11/03/2015 05:16

oh dear sorry to hear that number. On the positive side you know that you won't have any discomfort during the c-section.

Blaze - good luck for your scan on Thursday. We are bringing up the rear of the scans... Mine is today! DH who would really like another boy as he thinks it would be easier to play football with 2 little boys than take one to ballet....... said something nice yesterday. He said that if we had a little girl he would be able to make a father of the bride speech and have a whole load of different special experiences from being the father of a boy.
Glorious sunshine yesterday. I sat in the sun to eat my lunch.
I haven't bought anything yet but am looking forward to buying a little something for the baby if all goes well.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 11/03/2015 07:30

Olympics we are expecting DD2. We went to a wedding at the weekend and DH said he hopes he gets to make 2 father of the bride speeches as it's such a special moment Smile.

Good luck with your scan!

fattymcfatfat · 11/03/2015 07:47

Olympics and gotto thats really sweet. my ex on the other hand cant stand the thought of his DD growing up and getting married. he is a bit over protective of her, shes our only girl so she is daddy's princess.

broodylicious · 11/03/2015 09:42

So dd defo has chicken pox Hmm just checked with mw and she said I should be fine as I had it as a child but to get GP practice nurse to check my booking in bloods for immunity anyway (they have it all on file at the blood lab). Luckily dd is super duper in herself, just a bit tired from not sleeping brilliantly - although as I've said before, she's always been a rubbish sleeper so nothing we can't cope with for a week! Just means we will have to miss ballet and seeing my grandad on his birthday on FridayHmm

In non baby related news, I won a new client last Tuesday and she's so thrilled with my work already, she's already doubled her account/budget! So so so pleased.

fattymcfatfat · 11/03/2015 10:11

oh dear poor little girl. Sad
congratulations on the new client though Smile
