Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 22nd grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 39th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Yay indigo!

Indigoblue2 · 26/02/2015 16:49

You inspired me la!!

RPopz · 26/02/2015 16:54

Aw, yay! Grin I knew all along I was having a boy too and he is so lovely!! Yours will be too!! How will you manage to keep it a secret???

LaLaLaaaa · 26/02/2015 16:57

We are telling everyone we didn't find out big fat liars

ChatEnOeuf · 26/02/2015 17:06

Congrats! That cuts your name dilemma roughly in half exactly one of the reasons we're not finding out Grin

RPopz · 26/02/2015 17:13

Lol. My mum was convinced we'd found out and were keeping it a secret. I have no idea why!!

mountaingirl01 · 26/02/2015 17:18

Woohoo go la! :D

ZylaB · 26/02/2015 17:19

Yay for good scan and congrats on team blue la (we knew it! )

LaLaLaaaa · 26/02/2015 17:57

Apologies by the way for hijacking the thread! Splodge you were explaining why you're considering elcs and we were chatting about hot water bottles and recommendations for baby monitors.

I'm also interested in baby monitor suggestions!

And I've not had a bath this pg because of temp worries. Is it ok?

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 18:04

Yay la a boy!

splodge77 · 26/02/2015 18:13

Ha ha no worries, Yey welcome to the wee-wees-in-the-eye club. That's great news xx

teejayem · 26/02/2015 18:22

All through this pregnancy I've had hot baths, hot water bottles, hot wheat packs and an electric blanket...... not all at the same time, mind - heat on my back has been amazing, and everything seems fine thus far....?

DulcetMoans · 26/02/2015 18:53

Yay for a great scan as a boyby la! Congrats!

I've used hot water bottle a few times too. Uh oh. Did I bake my baby?! Confused

Been invited on a hen do in late August. Baby would be 7wks old - people with babies, would I be able to go out for a meal for a couple hours by then or ambitious??

Fleurchamp · 26/02/2015 18:54

I have used hot water bottles when I had trapped wind, tried to go for lukewarm rather than boiling water.

I also need monitor recommendations

I also need suggestions in how to relax. Usually I would have a large glass of wine but seeing as that is off limits.... I feel so damn anxious virtually all the time and cannot let things go as I usually would. Silly incident today at work (3 hours ago!) and I am still stewing over it and have been in tears.

This is not usual behaviour. I am quite an emotionally tough person but I just can't seem to cope at the moment Sad

Fleurchamp · 26/02/2015 18:55

Ps no baths here either. Our bathtub is rank, I avoid it as much as possible. Roll on new bathroom Smile

mountaingirl01 · 26/02/2015 19:02

ooh fleur does that work? relaxing wise, I'm afraid I'm not much help - I always used to go out for a run and now am too scared/tired too can get like an itchy ant. I'm afraid the aforementioned baths (with book and crisps and radio) are the only way I'm sitting still at the moment unless I am crashed out by the fire still wearing my coat because I'm too tired to take it off I have always thought baths would be fine so long as their not scalding hot?

couldhavebeenme · 26/02/2015 19:07

Lovely scan news la!

Hot water bottles and baths have been my saviour this pregnancy with an achy back, midwife approved so can't be too bad. I guess a hot tub or similar would be risky in terms of overheating you (however, am able to overheat just sat still at the moment myself!)

Bit late to the bf talk but I had No books on it just tried the local bfing support group (good), NCT post natal group (good for support as in someone's house so anyone feeling a bit self conscious seemed to feel more relaxed about asking for help, sharing experience) and I luckily have my mum who used to do bf support Wink Hospital support was a bit lacking although as I was happy I guess they didn't see need to help - apart from in recovery post CS the midwife literally grabbing boob and shoving it in baby's mouth Confused IMHO a positive mindset helps I was stubbornly determined to do it and laid back about how much baby fed - cannot stand it when people get told to time feeds as it tells you nothing about how much milk they are getting or whether they are feeding effectively...the best thing I found was "if in doubt, offer boob!" climbs off soapbox

In other news not long til mat leave starts GrinGrin

ZylaB · 26/02/2015 19:15

Baths are fine, but not too hot!

gaggiagirl · 26/02/2015 20:02

Re bfing I was so lucky that I was the only new mammy on the midwife led unit so they let me stay for days til feeding was established. They came to help me with the latch every few hours. They bathed her, changed her nappies and sat with her while I showered and stuff.
Apparently I was the only patient they had for over a week.
The midwife unit is only open half the year though so I hope they are open again by the time I pop. These are the benefits of living in the sticks!

Fleurchamp · 26/02/2015 20:44

Blimey ga where do you live? The word at pregnancy yoga is that the MLU at our local hospital has become so popular it has had to close several times this year due to overcrowding Shock sounds like I will be lucky to get a cup of tea and a slice of toast before being sent packing!

willywallace · 26/02/2015 21:13

Dulcet, if it's a possibility say you hope to go but don't firmly commit. Depends on a number of factors - mostly to do with feeding. If bf you would probably want to introduce a bottle by about week four to give her a good chance of taking it by week 7. Although bear in mind baby might only be 5 weeks depending on when you give birth. There's no way I could go out for dinner and leave my five and a half week old but if you had a low maintenance baby who takes a bottle then no reason why not.

willywallace · 26/02/2015 21:14

Summer Infant video monitors are quite good I think.

DulcetMoans · 26/02/2015 22:12

Thanks wil, makes sense. I've ruled myself out of the other activities but will reserve a place for the meal in case.

ChatEnOeuf · 26/02/2015 23:06

Baths are awesome. Getting down to clean it however is getting tricky Hmm

Dulcet - doable, or could you stick the baby in a sling and take it along too? Then you can feed, drink wine and natter without that awful 'I'm missing part of me!' feeling. I couldn't have left DD at that age. We tried at ten weeks just to go to the pub for a drink, lasted about 40 mins. Not bad given she was a cluster-feeding demon in the evenings and never tolerated a bottle.

willywallace · 26/02/2015 23:56

But Chat, haven't you seen what happens to people in AIBU who suggest taking babies to hen dos?! Wink
