Third trimester?! Agh, I might hide and re-read the old thread instead! It's going so fast!
Glad I'm not the only one doing crazy things like full time job and masters at the same time. I'm only in the first year of a distance learning masters and hoping just to have to ask for am extension on the module assignment rather than defer but will have to wait and see!
Been following the bf chat with interest. So glad this group are so relaxed about it; makes me feel better for considering other options just in case it does work for little one or me.
Monday is done folks! Yippee xx

real realisation this weekend that I now have boobs.... I had what I can only describe as peanuts before I got pregnant and was busy trying on bridesmaid dresses at the weekend and had to go two to three sizes up in most dresses to allow for the new boobs, bump didn't matter as they were all empire waist as it will be approx four to six weeks after my due date. Hope they stay!! although am guessing that once bfing is over they will shrink?

Justyouwaitandsee · 26/01/2015 20:13

Thanks everyone who responded to my movement question, don't think anyone was confident about having a set pattern - you have all made me feel so much better! I am going to delete all the kick counter monitors and just keep trusting my instincts! Thanks for being such a brilliant, down to earth bunch Smile

Ladies when do we take the third trimester starting from?! I can't remember!

Titsalinabumsquash · 26/01/2015 20:23

My pregnancy app says 26 weeks is third trimester.

OP posts:
Justyouwaitandsee · 26/01/2015 20:33

I think it differs. I think BabyCentre says end of the 27th week (eek - I'm 27 weeks tomorrow!) Shock

applecore0317 · 26/01/2015 20:40

end of 27th week on my app... five weeks for me :O

BeanCalledPickle · 26/01/2015 20:45

End of 27th week. Push it out as long as possible as third trimester is grimness!

Can whoever had the Jojo code repost please? I've just got the new catalogue and its full of stuff I totally don't need but very much want:-)

Justyouwaitandsee · 26/01/2015 20:55

Argh - please don't say that Bean - I had such a horrendous first trimester and have had a practically symptom free 2nd trimester am hoping that this continues into the third.

BeanCalledPickle · 26/01/2015 21:07

Don't cross everything then, that way bad circulation and various other nasties lie....!

4wks to go here too.... Yes I do remember the end of the third trimester being the worst and my dd was 8days late was not a happy time for me!

applecore0317 · 26/01/2015 21:30

Me neither Tori I just get told I look tired...

leanne963 · 26/01/2015 21:33

Haha tori same here!!

3rd trimester.....ahhh I know this is really weird, please don't judge, I've been watching videos on YouTube earlier of babies born at 27+ weeks and seeing the beautiful positive stories is making me confident that everything will be ok. I'm also having a 3D scan at 28 weeks and seeing babies born at 28 weeks and being so strong was making me so emotional. Babies are so beautiful and what our bodies do is incredible and I am so thankful for the wonderful technology to help all the preemie babies!!

They might have been moderated by different people Tori so try not to worry. Good luck

Mslad · 26/01/2015 22:24

You never know Tori You could have passed! keep thinking positively and good luck

leanne that's a great idea to read positive stories of early births.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, so apologies in advance but any thoughts on how long baby sleeps in a cot in your room for? I had it in my head that most sleep, on average for about 6 months in the parents room. dp had a work thing with other departments this evening, one woman is 35 weeks pg with her third child, and most people in his office have children. The pregnant woman told him that babies stay for 2 weeks in the parents room and then move in to their own room. Everyone agreed with her and couldn't understand where I got 6 months from, and now he thinks I'm talking through my hat. Am I? Did I just imagine that time-frame? any thoughts would be appreciated Smile

leanne963 · 26/01/2015 22:26

mslad I was preparing for the baby to be in our room for at least 3/4 months!

Threesoundslikealot · 26/01/2015 22:29

Six months is the WHO guideline for prevention of cot death, and the majority of babies I know are with their parents around that long at least. Not least because it makes night time feeds massively easier too. You didn't just imagine it.

Good luck with the dissertation, Tori.

I did lots of walking today and am now getting quite a lot of period type pain which is freaking me out. I'm working abroad this week so no easy access to reassuring midwives.

Mslad · 26/01/2015 22:33

Thanks leanne and three I couldn't remember where I had heard it about 6 months, it must have been on a mn discussion, but good to hear I'm not crazy.

three could baby be pressing on a bit of your uterus which is causing period type pain? Or perhaps you just overdid it a bit and need to rest? Will you have to do so much walking over the next few days?

Justyouwaitandsee · 26/01/2015 22:52

Yup six months in everything I have read too. Think your DHs work colleagues are just showing that they raised children at a different time.

three - I get that too when I walk too fast or uphill. My midwife told me to listen to my body and not to push myself. I find it generally goes when I lay down or make myself rest. She did say it wS nothing to worry about though and prob just pain from stretching ligaments.

Scottishgal78 · 26/01/2015 22:55

three I've had that a few times after being in my feet all day or shopping all day - forgetting I'm preggers! Resting for a day makes a difference. I can't believe the difference in my fitness levels. I used to be a gym bunny and now I'm out of breath on stairs and can't walk anywhere near as fast as I used to!

Fluffeh · 27/01/2015 06:24

I kept dd in our room until she was reliably sleeping through and not needing night feeds. That did make her about 15 months old but it was so much easier to just co sleep rather than wander off down the hall way, pick her up, feed her and try to resettle.
Obviously some babies sleep through a lot quicker and if this one does, as long as we are past the 6 months mark I'll move him in with dd.

How are the spd sufferers getting on? I find mine so much worse at night in bed and first thing in a morning. I actually hobble to bed and hobble around for over an hour after waking.
I'm really looking forward to May then I can walk without looking like a fairytale witch haha x
