Marking my place. so scary that it is third trimester soon. last one went really quickly.

leanne963 · 26/01/2015 12:45

Thought i would pick up the conversation again ginger I am so glad you said that, i too suffer from anxiety but luckily have great support from all my lecturers and my tutor. I used to want to be a presenter and create TV shows but i was never super motivated by a career...now i am just feeling content at the idea of being a SAHM and i know i am lucky to be in this generation where women are encouraged to work but i just want to enjoy being a mum. Who knows, i am lucky my partner is self employed and works from home so he will be a huge huge help and i know people struggle and have to go back to work asap so i am so lucky i have the option to even consider staying at home full time. Although this is my first child....ask me again in 2 years haha!

Chookford · 26/01/2015 12:47

oooooh new thread... thanks tits

I am having real trouble getting comfortable at work, trying to sit under my desk with my bump is getting increasingly difficult! I may have to resort to lying on top of it soon! Grin

longestlurkerever · 26/01/2015 12:56

Thanks tits. I am quite lucky in that I can work part time and get the best (and worst) of both worlds. My bosses have been supportive so far which is key.

chook I know the feeling. I have my chair very low to be a little comfy.
tori your bump will pop out overnight soon Smile

gingerfluffball · 26/01/2015 13:21

Picking up from ginger and leanne - it's funny, at the start of my degree I was totally career orientated and had big plans for what I was going to do. Graduated a few years ago and seem to have lost that drive - currently working part time and enjoy what I do but glad to be planning to be around for future DC much more than if I'd followed the big plans. I wonder how much of it is baby hormones or just life changing my aspirations.

Weight-wise have put on 10kg exactly so far at 26 weeks, had a low-end of normal BMI at the start so think that's okay. Definitely hungrier than I've ever been, seem to need to eat about 4 meals a day and a bowl of cereal before bed at the moment!

piglet81 · 26/01/2015 13:24

Wow, a new thread already! Been a chatty bunch lately! Hope everyone's doing OK this Monday. Have a bit of a cold and too much work to do (and only twelve weeks left!), but other than that I'm fine Smile.

Someone forwarded me some photos of Kate Middleton in a brown dress last week, and she hardly has a bump at all - just shows that we're all different and anything goes in this bump-size lark! So try not to worry, Tori. I feel gigantic by comparison but gave up weighing myself a while ago. Would rather not know the numbers!

gingerfluffball · 26/01/2015 13:26

Tori bump will pop out soon I'm sure. I was desperate for a 'proper' baby bump for ages and then suddenly there it was a couple of weeks ago! DH says he notices it getting bigger each day now.

On the bright side though, enjoy a bit of anonymity while it lasts, I'm getting a bit fed up of random people just looking at my bump all the time Blush

Titsalinabumsquash · 26/01/2015 13:27

I don't have a desk but if my bump gets much bigger I won't be able to drive, I've only got little legs and if I have to move my seat back anymore they won't reach the pedals. GrinBlush

I spent the morning waddling around Tesco getting a record number of cats bum faces (generally by middle aged women ffs!) because DS3 was 'helping' by fetching things and scanning. I did rather passively aggressively enquire into the name of one ladies parenting book as I assumed from her horrified gawping that her own children were perfect...Blush
Don't worry I'm not normally one for confronting strangers in supermarkets but I didn't sleep last night and DS is 2 he doesn't follow the crowd of miserable people scowling about Monday morning shopping. He wasn't even doing anything terrible.

We've spent the afternoon baking many cakes and biscuits, no doubt they'll be gone in days but I occasionally get the urge to bake then I slice the cakes up into individually wrapped slices so the kids have something to welcome them out if school. Smile

I'm dreading February, I've got 2 midwife appointments, 1 consultant appointment, blood tests and anti d appointment, DP is having dental surgery at some obscene time in the morning that I have to drive him too (2 hrs away!)
DS1 is meant to be spending 2 weeks in hospital (3 hrs away) for intensive iv therapy/physio and a bronchoscopy/ct scan and maybe his much needed urology op if they'll do it all under one GA.
If I go to sleep will someone wake me up on the 1st March? Wink

applecore0317 · 26/01/2015 13:30

Justyou same here, no real pattern other than that she has a mad 10 minutes when I get into bed at night to go to sleep, she was pretty active most of the day on Friday, then Saturday night, then quiet all day yesterday apart from the odd soft movement, think they are sporadic until around 24 weeks? although have written it in my notes to ask the midwife on my 25 week appointment so I get an idea of what to look out for.

I guess the reassuring thing for me is that I have to have internal scans every fortnight and you can see part of the baby on those anyway :)

She did respond to a woman singing on the voice on Saturday night, pretty sure she also thought she wasn't very good :D

Weight wise I have put on just over a stone I think and am 22 +5, I put a little of that on on purpose in the first trimester as felt I was a bit under

tori one morning you will just wake up and be like "where the hell did that come from!!" It doesn't help I'm such a short arse I look bigger than I actually am... Although from my desk assessment earlier maybe I am just that big and am in denial! I've put on 5lb since booking in so not bad I'm just all boobs and belly!

tits I'm the same with driving, my dh keeps telling me he is going to make me special shoes (think short round in Indiana Jones!!) Grin

God some people should really learn to keep their arse hole faces impassive! Kids are kids they play about unless your son was waking around with a flame thrower and an aerosol I don't see the harm!

Titsalinabumsquash · 26/01/2015 14:57

I have a much bigger bump in the evening than I do in the morning, I get slower and more waddle-y as the day goes on.
If I were one of these creative types i'd be interested in drawing around my side on outline first thing in the morning and last thing at night to see the difference (although it's blatantly all pie) Grin

Just marking my place, but eek! to third trimester.

MsLad, DH is allergic to kiwi fruit and it's a known allergen in general. Also he's found that his response gets worse with every (accidental) exposure.

I have a real bump now and have put on almost a stone. Really different to my other two pregnancies in which I didn't put on any weight and had quite a modest bump, but I was quite a bit thinner when I got pregnant than before so maybe that made a difference to me? I'm freaking out at both the weight gain and bump, as I worked so hard to lose weight and slim my tummy down a bit, and people are getting a bit cross with me. Not to mention that my formerly very good ways of eating are going to pot and I feel out of control again.

Titsalinabumsquash · 26/01/2015 15:17

My best friend has chosen now to get thin, healthy and is generally living the life of a goddess. I have told her its highly inappropriate whilst I'm in this suspended state of largeness. Grin

Marking my place in the new thread. I'm in awe of those of you are studying at the moment. I remember the stress of my dissertation and can't imagine going through that now. I was studying to get into educational psychology after teaching for 10 years but deferred it when I got my BFP! Hats off to you!

Thanks for the new thread tits third trimester here we come ! eek! How did that happen? btw, when do we consider the 3rd trimester to begin? In my head I think of 26 weeks (just going by 3 sets of 13 weeks taking us to 39 weeks) but I have a feeling officially it's later then that?

Thanks for the kiwi comment three I never knew it was a common allergy, and am now intrigued by it.

I haven't weighed myself since I got my bfp, my bump is much bigger then I thought it would be at this point, but I don't feel like I've put on too much weight elsewhere....or I'm completely in denial and I'm huge, but I don't care, I can only think of this lo being ok, and will focus on loosing the weight afterwards.

You might surprise yourself with your thesis tori sometimes when you don't think it's good work you actually get good feedback. fingers crossed.

February sounds tough tits- I hope your ds1 will be ok, and your dp's dental surgery, and hope you manage to look after yourself too!

Blondie87 · 26/01/2015 17:14

Oh tits that sounds like an intense few weeks?hope you have the support you need. Ginger I don't know how you do it! you sound like the ultimate multitasker!
Love the thread name-eeeek exciting not too long now until babies! Weight wise I'm 24+3 and gained 11lbs thus far. All bump and boobs :)
It's strange how your career aspirations change. Got a promotion this year and actually now I want to go part time and then be a mummy and wife the rest!

Bazza2 · 26/01/2015 17:55

tits I'm with you on the driving. I can barely reach the pedals as it is. My test is in March when I'll be almost 30 weeks! It sounds like you've a tough few weeks to get through. Hope it goes okay.

Fluffeh · 26/01/2015 18:16

Yay new thread! Thanks tits.
I met my new midwife today and so far I really like her. She's arranging a consultant appointment with me and a meeting with the supervisor of midwives to try and get their approval of allowing my baby's birth in the MLU. It's connected to the hospital so if anything looked off or went wrong I'd just move rooms.
Fingers crossed they agree.
She's also contacting the infant feeding team so we're prepared in advance in case of any bfing issues this time which is brilliant for me as I've really enjoyed bfing dd and want to do it again hopefully without the issues we had in the first few weeks.

Ooh and in exciting news I finally found a sleep suit/hat combo that I love in tk maxx. It's cream with muted colours of animals printed on. Dd also fell in love with a soft blanket that has a vintage plane print so we got that for the baby to be from her.
It's so blooming real now and only 15 weeks to go eek!
