My midwife appts are only on a wed at my GPs practice. Was supposed to go on wed but she was running so late I gave up and rebooked for next week! If I can't get in with a midwife I'm supposed to see GP instead though apparently.

Newbie my 2 year old is always clingy- is driving me bonkers though she is cute with it I suppose

sunbathing sorry to hear you feel unsupported by your midwife- hope you get it sorted.

Re grobags the ones I had were def from 10lbs, I wonder if old ones are safe to use from less than 10lbs? Although I only had 2.5 tog ones in 0-6 months because I had 2 oct babies so I should probably buy some 1 tog ones for summer. I love them- so much easier than blankets.

Tryingreallyhard84 · 13/02/2015 20:59

Phryn - great Friday afternoon reminder Grin

WillowHouse · 13/02/2015 21:19

newbie my four year old has got a lot clinger since she found out about baby.
Sun i hope u get more support

Anyone else huge? If one more person asks me if it twins i will cry. I've lost weight but have huge bump. Slightly scared how much bigger im going to get.

AnythingNotEverything · 13/02/2015 21:22

DD has no idea. I keep telling her there's a baby in my tummy, and she lifts up my clothes to try find it Grin

Lovecats Wauwaa have 50% off until tomorrow (code FEB50 I think) and they had grobags.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 13/02/2015 21:35

We had a bit of a heartbreaking moment a few weeks ago when my dd (2.6) said, "Mummy? Are you my mummy?" to which I responded that I was, and she said "Who is that baby's mummy?" And after some discussion said "Mummy? Don't be that baby's mummy. Be my mummy." She was significantly clingy after that!! She's better now though, although I can't guess at all which way she'll go after the birth... Eek.

htf2 · 13/02/2015 21:35

I got a grobag on the wauwau thing :) I have no idea about weight range, but think I got it for 6-12m anyway so should be ok. I also don't understand this tog rating - got a cot quilt which is 3.5 tog and don't know what that means about using it! think I should just go back to guessing as I feel safer doing that than trying to work this togness out. I might just use it on the floor for tummy time :P

I too am getting a bit anxious that there are 3 months to go -I'm not that comfortable already! I know I'm far from huge but it is still hard to imagine how much bigger it can get! Suspect I will be very glad to finish work and that is still 3 months away...

This is useful for togs and clothing guidance. I've always found DD needs one more layer. I think it errs on the side of caution but is a good place to start.

HTF by the time you'd be using a quilt I'd expect baby to be able to regulate his/her own temperature well enough not to worry too much.

PregnantAndEngaged · 13/02/2015 22:31

pas something that worked well for my fiance's parents when they had their second child (my fiance is the eldest) was telling him that they loved you both the same and saying that he needs to look after his brother, then gave him a toy to give to his brother as his first toy when he met him :) After that they were best friends! His brother still has the rabbit toy he was given... such a sweet story! :)

PregnantAndEngaged · 13/02/2015 22:31

*they loved him and his brother both the same

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 13/02/2015 23:06

We're def majoring on being able to love lots of people at once at the moment Smile We are also going to take her to choose a special toy to give to the baby so hope that works as well for us!

Deutschybaby · 13/02/2015 23:24

My little girl has always been clingy and I love it! But it also makes me really happy when I can see her becoming more independent. She's not been any more clingy or seemingly insecure since finding out, but it I cant help but worry that it's such a big change and will hit her. We're involving her in as many decisions etc as possible, and she's looking forward to being a grown up helper!

She had an eye test last week, and out of the blue needs glasses - she's far more excited about that than the baby at the moment! We pick them up in the morning, they're black and funky and not at all what I expected a 5 yr old to choose!

Thanks for the reminder phryn, I've done them for tonight (but actually hadnt done them since the last time you mentioned it!)

Arrgghhhh, insomnia has hit at 24 weeks!! Also have toddler with me as he woke at 2am and wanted in bed with me. Wee monkey is flat out like a star fish snoring

It's gonna be a long night x

Tryingreallyhard84 · 14/02/2015 07:40

Newbie - if I'd have known you were awake at that time too, I'd have come on for a chat! Grin Its like clockwork now.

Well, weighed myself this morning. Celery and carrot sticks on the menu for the day. Need to get back in control!

Deutschybaby · 14/02/2015 09:03

newbie you poor thing!

I must confess, whenever anyone mentions weighing/weight gain, I do my very best job to ignore what's being said. I'm doing a cracking job of hiding my head in the sand...

Hope everyone's got a nice weekend planned. We've got soft play with Dd and nephew then we're going pram shopping. I am SO excited about the latter!

PregnantAndEngaged · 14/02/2015 18:24

Sorry for TMI but is anyone else experiencing water-consistency discharge? I've not got an infection. Thing is it doesn't smell of anything. Panics me sometimes that amniotic fluid is leaking but I've experienced it on and off for a while now so think it may just be normal...

Alisvolatpropiis · 14/02/2015 19:18

Me, PandE. Have been since quite early on. As far as I can tell it is normal from anything I've read on the subject so I'm not worrying about it. Prevents infection, or helps to, I think.

Thelovecats · 14/02/2015 19:44

anything thanks for pointing me to that site. Got some gro bags, plus a new baby board game to my older 2 to play. Bargain with the 50% off :)

AnythingNotEverything · 14/02/2015 21:07

You're welcome Smile

newbie6 · 14/02/2015 22:30

Hope everyone has had a good day! Due to my insomnia I have been a total grump all day and feel guilty for snapping at my DH and DS. Hoping I sleep better tonight.....getting totally stressed and anxious about everything, think I need to check myself into a padded cell with no mobile reception so work cannot annoy me for a day or two ??

jazzyjenbo · 14/02/2015 23:24

Evening all, had a night off tonight, mum called round at about 5pm and took the kids with her... So me and dh got a chinese!
We're not into valentines so hadnt planned nethin so made a change to get a take away.
25 weeks tomorrow, these weeks are flying by Grin

htf2 · 15/02/2015 00:53

thanks anything on the link and for the point about temperature regulating. It is funny to think some of this stuff we are buying is for when they are 6 months old...

BingoBonkers · 15/02/2015 20:18

newbie my eldest is not clingy as such but is constantly using my enhanced bust as a pillow at every opportunity.

We didn't use duvets until ours were in toddler beds so around the 18-24mo mark.

I can also really really recommend one of these for baby monitoring - this doesn't replace listening devices but is a good alternative to a sensor mat and for us was reassuring:

Chookford · 15/02/2015 21:18

Evening ladies

Hope everyone is well... I'm 26weeks today eek this is getting really real now only 11 more weeks when you can be considered full term! I really had better get my arse in gear and sort out buying stuff I need!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 16/02/2015 09:11

You can tell many people have migrated to Facebook for their updates. This is the longest we've had a thread without filling it I think!

I had the WORST nights sleep ever. I must have woke up every hour on the hour last night. What with puss sleeping on me, hubs coming to bed late and just general backache everytime I moved, it is not unsurprising I am in a bad mood today. I decided to work from home to save people the grumps. I then remembered I'd left a key document at work so I will now have to rearrange my whole week to ensure I meet my own self imposed deadlines. Love a good Monday morning! Angry

Also, would like to say thanks for the above info/link on Grobags. I think I might actually be starting to understand this layering thing. I need to read things a few times before it hits home. Smile

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 16/02/2015 14:02

I've hit the magic 24 weeks today Smile (Although this is not an invitation for baby to arrive now!!)

Trying, I wondered what hideous pg affliction I'd missed that you were sleeping in puss.... Then I realised you meant the feline kind, not the infection kind!!! Eeeeeww!! Grin

Dd (who's 2 and 7 mo) asked me yesterday how the baby would get out of my tummy. Shock I said I'd go to the hospital and the doctors would help it to come out. She wasn't buying that at all!! I'm all for being honest etc but she is really young, I wasn't really anticipating being honest just yet! I'm thinking when she asks again to say that it'll come out of a special hole between my legs, but I can so see her telling the world and his wife, or asking a random checkout assistant or something if it's happened to her!! Not sure what the correct approach is...
