Great scan news tranq! Did you go back to FMC?

Who do I need to contact about the FB group? Think I'm ready to accept this is all very real now!

jazzyjenbo · 04/02/2015 18:24

Glad to hear your feeling better 5.

Tranq great to here all was well at the scan, cute piccy aswell.

24 weeks does seem like such a turning point, it will only be a matter of afew weeks until we can all say baby is viable! Grin

Bingo, PM me your name and profile pic description and i'll add you to FB (and anyone else who wants to hop over there aswell)

JennyOfOldstones · 04/02/2015 19:36

Just saw baby kicking from the outside for the first time! It totally distracted DP from my keys in the bin confession Grin

PregnantAndEngaged · 04/02/2015 20:09

Oh wow, you actually saw your tum move? That's awesome!

I started feeling the baby kick (proper kicks not quickening) on the day of my 20 weeks. They seem to getting harder by the day. Still can't imagine being able to see it though :D How many weeks are you Jenny?

Tryingreallyhard84 · 04/02/2015 20:34

Evening all.

Great news on scans today. Some great pics on Facebook. Smile

I'm yet to feel the movement outside or see my tum move. Can't figure out if I'll think it's lovely or freaky. Grin Its been quite active all day though. Weird pops and jiggles.

Tranquilitybaby · 04/02/2015 20:37

No bingo, back to NHS. Thanks girls. X

Chookford · 04/02/2015 20:38

tranquility massive congrats on good scan news!!

I'm passed the viability stage now then thank god! For some reason I thought it was later than 24wks! I can actually make out if it's a foot or elbow poking me you can actually see the shapes pushing against my stomach, it's both amazing and freaky!!

Tranquilitybaby · 04/02/2015 20:41

Congrats you all your viability milestones, must feel much more reassuring.

HexyQueen · 04/02/2015 21:20

Yay fab news tranq. Deffo joining us in girle team. :) Glad all was clear x

JennyOfOldstones · 04/02/2015 22:13

I am 23 weeks pregnant but felt movement quite early. My placenta was posterior at the scan and must be right out of the way. She was kicking up by my belly button today so I could see it very clearly!

I can't wait until we can see what body part it is chookford! I have no concept of whereabouts she is at the moment.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 04/02/2015 22:14

Aaaaagh heartburn.

That is all.

AnythingNotEverything · 04/02/2015 22:33

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Just a quick reminder to do your pelvic floor exercises.

As you were.

Deutschybaby · 04/02/2015 22:54

anything can you do that daily, please?!

newbie6 · 04/02/2015 23:17

Congrats tranquility, great news!

I had a scan today too, 22 weeks now and placenta still low and anterior but baby is fine. They freaked me out though by going on about if my placenta attaches itself to my c section scar, they say they may do an MRI around 30 weeks If there are no signs of my placenta moving up and then my consultant goes on to say if it hasn't I am at risk of heavy bleeding so they will need to have options in place....Christ I was fine before I went in and then came out and just wanted to cry!! I'm still hoping it will move up which hopefully it will. Bizarrely they gave me my section date (assuming all does goes well with my placenta) so it will be 28th May at 8.30am....all v surreal to be told this at this stage! Joys of being type 1 diabetic but I guess at least I know I won't have the nightmare experience I had with DS 1 so not complaining. Sounds like I will be looked after, just feeling quite emotional and anxious as feel I won't know what is happening until another 8 weeks when they can hopefully see what my placenta is up to!

Positive thinking.....xx

congratulations on all of your healthy scans and viability milestones! Thanks

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 05/02/2015 07:40

Newbie, that does sound scary but at least they are considering all options and you will be well looked after. I had a friend whose uterus and stomach lining somehow fused after a emcs Shock and this was was only discovered after she went in for her next elcs. Imagine if she'd wanted a vbac.... Yikes!!

That sounds like "anything you can do, I can go better..." Hmm Not meaning to - just trying to see the ups of them terrifying you now!!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 05/02/2015 07:59

Pas - hope the heartburn passed.

Newbie - it's lovely when something like the placenta attaching to your scar is put in such a logical/matter of fact way by docs. Wink As someone else said, I don't think they know how much we worry and (me personally) will play the worst case scenario over in my head! Fingers crossed it moves.

I generally remember my pelvic floor exercises when I'm eating, lying in bed or at the gym. I don't know why. Well, I understand why I remember at the gym as I have to engage my glutes/pelvis for squats, etc. There's too many things to try to remember during pregnancy.

If we've got any scans today, good luck!

Orville82 · 05/02/2015 08:28

Doing them now as I type Anything. For that image, you're all welcome! Grin

sleepyshrew · 05/02/2015 09:58

Anything thanks for the reminder. I really need to remember after an episode the other week when I sneezed and had to run. My partner is both horrified and amused at the dripping, retching, farting, burping 'lady' I've become!

Glad everyone's scans have been OK. newbie it sounds scary but at least it shows that they are planning and wanting to make sure all scenarios are covered. I think sometimes medical people deal with these things so often that they forget the effect the info has the first time you hear it.

I'm feeling movement throughout the day now, mostly when I'm sitting still or after eating. I think baby had hiccups last night! Grin

Been following the pram discussions here and on FB. I'm finding it so difficult to choose. And in my naivity I had no idea how blimmin expensive they are! I know this prob sounds stupid, but do I need a lie-flat cot and a seat attachment? (complete beginner here) I know you're not meant to have the car seat attached for more than 2 hours, but I want that option for popping out to the shops/baby mornings at our child centre. So, I'd need car seat, cot bit and a seat, I think.

Chookford · 05/02/2015 10:15

newbie sounds scary, but it's good that they are looking after you and forward planning.. Sure you won't need the intervention but it's good to know it's all in place if you do.

sleepy I've had a pram that the carrycot coverts into the seat so no extra bits and the car seat that was good for quickness and ease of switching one to the other but that was when my dd was a few months old as a baby she used to love Lying flat and if it was only a very short journey she went in car seat, I will be getting all three again this time as it worked well for us... I think most now come with both seat/carrycot in a package.

fortywinx · 05/02/2015 11:01

Morning all. I was up again at 3am, coughing my guts up :(

sleepy A lot of prams are suitable from birth without the carrycot bit (and tend to be more compact because of it), but I would probably recommend getting one that can be switched from facing out and in so that you can see baby when they're little. The specification will say if it's suitable from birth. I think OBaby do some reasonably priced pram and carseat sets which can be used from birth as the pram seat will lie flat. No idea what they're like but I looked at them myself! I'm sure there's lots of other brands that do the same!

Tranquilitybaby · 05/02/2015 12:35

Glad your scan went well too newbie. They do love to inject us with fear dont though, grrr. I asked the anaesthetist if a third section is more eisky than a second, her reply "oh yes, much more so". Cheers! Sad

Hope you feel better soon forty. X
