Yes want, I had a three door corsa when dd was born. It wasn't too bad because we had a maxi cosi fix base, so could lift her in her seat quite easily. Yes, not as easy as in a five door car but we managed for over a year.

sherbet, I'm with ya girl! I could quite happily curl up and sleep until lunch time. Instead, I'm having to take dd to a dance class with lots of jumping and bouncing toddlers. Oh my head is already hurting at the thought. Roll on 1pm and dd's nap time!

My skin is so crap right now. And I don't think my bump is growing loads. But I do feel sick. Again. And I have back ache. And I've not had a huge amount of movement from baby, despite squirming and a little kick last week. Grrr. Need sleep then I won't be so grumpy!

Naturegirl82 · 26/01/2015 09:23

Not sure if I'm just imagining it but I feel like I have period ache today. Midwife is coming to see me at 11 I think so I'll mention it to her. Just hoping it's not connected to my fall yesterday.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 26/01/2015 09:24

Yes Want we've got a 3 door Peugeot 206. Wasn't too bad with a newborn but I think I'm really going to struggle with a newborn and toddler (much harder to get a squirming toddler in and out!). We're hoping to get a new car before this baby comes.

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. Just thrown up again, can't believe it's still going at nearly 17 weeks! I felt absolutely fine after 13 weeks last time so it's getting me down. I'm feeling cheated out of the 'feel good' second trimester!

Number3cometome · 26/01/2015 09:31

Morning ladies, hope you are all ok.

I think my sickness and all day nausea is on the way out! I feel a lot better this morning and haven't been sick for a week now!

Sophie - we have a Vauxhall Insignia, it's pretty spacious in the back.

I'm quite pleased with myself as I only had shredded wheat and a piece of toast for breakfast this morning rather than my double sausage and egg mcmuffin or bacon roll / something equally as bad.

Hopefully I can control myself a bit better now!

Baby was quiet yesterday, hoping to feel some movement today.

Number3cometome · 26/01/2015 09:32

Naturegirl82 try not to worry, I had bad period type pains last week, especially on the left hand side, it stopped the next day x

ignominious · 26/01/2015 09:35

Nature girl I think it's just your insides stretching.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 26/01/2015 09:37

Sophie my best friend has 3 children under 4 and has the Honda FRV. Not only does it fit 3 car seats across the back, you can also fit a car seat in the middle at the front if necessary, which meant that when we all went out for the day my DD went in the back with her 2 youngest and her oldest sat in the front in the middle in his car seat.

We're having the same search at the moment, however it will be a company car so restricted by the models they allow us to have. We're looking into the Peugeot 2008 at the moment.

ignominious · 26/01/2015 09:38

Broody alis Sophie I rang hmrc and they said it was DWP I needed to contact re MA

Naturegirl82 · 26/01/2015 09:39

I hope it's just stretching but it was one of the things the Midwife told me to look out for yesterday.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 26/01/2015 09:42

Hope all is ok Nature, hopefully the midwife can put your mind at rest.

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/01/2015 10:10

Had my scan first thing this morning. All is well and we're having a little girl Smile

Number3cometome · 26/01/2015 10:37

Alisvolatpropiis ahh lovely news!!

I have my sexing scan on the 14th Smile

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 26/01/2015 11:04

Great news Alis, that's 2 girls so far on the thread isn't it??

We've got our sexing scan a week on Thursday, can't wait Smile

Zampa · 26/01/2015 12:00

Anyone have any fun ways of announcing the new baby to other children?

Going to let DP's children (6 and 9) in on it on DP's birthday on when I'll be 19+4. He had a difficult relationship with them due to his ex's attitude, so really going that this news brings them all a bit closer.

Zampa · 26/01/2015 12:00

hoping not going!

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 26/01/2015 12:00

Thanks for the new thread fatty! DH is from Germany (think it was you that asked?), probably fairly similar to names in the Netherlands I guess so let me know of any good ones you have come up with, I'm desperate for inspiration!

I love the look of the sleepyhead, it's pricey but I would happily spend that much to avoid the sleep nightmare we had with DS (woke up every 45 minutes for the first month or so, with the odd 2-3 hour stretch but mainly during the day and continued to be a terrible sleeper until nearly 2). I've found out I might be able to borrow a bedside crib from a friend so would only need to buy the mattress, so maybe on that basis I can justify buying a sleepyhead too! I was also tempted by the cocoonababy but that's even more expensive and by the looks of it won't last nearly as long.

Was woken up by really weird pain yesterday, a kind of stretching / tight pain all the way from the top of my bump under my boobs down to my pelvis and radiating round to my back, it was really painful! Then I got up to pee and see if it would ease and my bump went rock hard (braxton hicks) so I had a total panic I was going in to pre-term labour Blush Had to just lie still with a hot water bottle in the end and it lasted for an hour or two on and off, then disappeared. I'm sure my last pregnancy was never this uncomfortable even at the end of the 3rd trimester! But I guess that means I was just really lucky last time.

Congrats Alis how lovely! Still can't decide whether to find out, think I might end up with a last minute decision on the ultrasound table!

Nature ouch that sounds very painful and pretty scary, hope the midwife can reassure you that all is well.

I am taking a very indulgent day off work today with DS at the childminder (have leftover annual leave from last year that has to be used up or I'll lose it!) so had a 2 hour nap this morning ignoring the huge pile of ironing to be done and now trying to book myself some driving lessons as I'm trying to get my test done before July (although actually I'm posting on mn and googling round the world trips with toddlers Blush )

Naturegirl82 · 26/01/2015 12:02

Congratulations alis

Seen the mw and had my lovely anti-d jab. Thankfully it's only a half dose this time. I have to keep an eye on the cramping/aching. It may just be stretching but it could be bruising from the fall. Apparently I need to try and not lift anything (not going to be easy with a one year old!), avoid driving and rest for a few days. Going to see if work will be happy for me to work from home for a few more days.

WantToGoingTo · 26/01/2015 13:06

Thanks for reassurance ladies, I have been dreaming about new cars but DH did a spreadsheet which came out saying can't really afford a new car at present! DH thinks we should cope for 2 more years then get a new one when we want another. He may be right but every cr seems prettier than mine! My own stupid fault for choosing a 3 door I suppose!

We are going to get a base for our car seat, not sure if my car has isofix points though so will need to check that out...

jmojo · 26/01/2015 13:10

nature take care. Hopefully work woll be ok with it!

SophieBarringtonWard · 26/01/2015 13:15

GotToBe my friend also has a Honda FRV, it seems like a good option. Just can't find one pre-owned in our (small) price range.

Am fairly stressed about cars at the moment as trying to persuade DH that we actually need to buy a car that comfortably fits us all in is currently hard work!

broodylicious · 26/01/2015 13:18

want, what reg/year is your corsa? Ours was a 57 and had it as standard

We've started looking at cars as we will be swapping before the summer. I don't really know what I fancy though. It's all a bit bleurgh since we have to consider boot space/possible roof rack/whether our existing Cybex seat that dd will be in until she's 12 and our maxi cosi baby seat will fit - it's certainly not about the sportiness of the seats, whether it's got a leather trim or sunroof/convertible anymoreHmmConfused. I would like a Kia sorento/Honda crv/Whatever the Hyundai version is called but just depends on what's available at the exact time we sell mine. I've bought from auction before and wouldn't mind doing it again so that's probably our next step.

broodylicious · 26/01/2015 13:20

Ooh I forgot - 15 weeks today! No sickness as yet but that pesky nausea is there as always.

WantToGoingTo · 26/01/2015 13:35

broody it is 54 reg so I am not sure!

Number3cometome · 26/01/2015 13:40

Sophie have you considered leasing?

We did own a car, but when we wanted to change found that leasing was a much better option for us. It's affordable each month, and although we don't own the car at the end we have the option to pay the rest of the balance or change for a new car.

It's kind of like a mobile phone contract I guess. I didn't realise how many people done it until we started leasing!

The value of a car drops as soon as it is driven off the forecourt, so it seemed the best option for us.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 26/01/2015 14:01

broody the Kia sorento is on our list too. Neither of us have ever been bothered about cars before or particularly done any research when buying them. We both sold our cars when we moved abroad then came back fairly unexpectedly when pregnant with DD. IL's were about to retire out to Spain as we got back so very kindly gave us MIL's Peugeot and we've had that since. I had lots of back issues after having DD though so really think we need to upgrade before having this baby. Luckily DH gets a car allowance from work but until now we've taken the cash option and used it for general living expenses. If we (fingers crossed!) can move back to the midlands we'll free up enough cash each month to actually be able to use it for a car!
