Thanks fatty, marking my place!

fattycow · 23/01/2015 22:57

I saw that we would be needing a new time soon and thought "no time like the present". Smile

Morning ladies, marking my place x

TouchPauseEngage · 24/01/2015 07:50

Morning! Utilising a range of pillows I managed to stay sleeping on my side for the whole night. Does anyone have a dreamgenii pillow. I've been eyeing them on eBay.

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 24/01/2015 07:53

Touch yes I have one, it was a lifesaver in my last pregnancy (had SPD). The problem came when we went to Spain at 32 weeks and I couldn't contemplate sleeping without it so ended up using half a suitcase on just my pillow Grin

NotPennysBoat · 24/01/2015 07:57

Marking place! I got my pregnancy pillow out of the loft this week (much to DHs dismay!). It's just a long thin pillow (not 'shaped' liked a Dreamgenie) but I absolutely love it. I also used it after birth for feeding DS and it's fab for sitting up in bed watching TV during the first few weeks after birth.

ohlordyplordy · 24/01/2015 08:03

Morning ladies. For those of you near an Aldi, they have a baby event this Thursday - packs of muslins, hooded towels, cellular blankets, nappy sacks, bulk boxes of baby wipes etc. You can see images and prices on the website. I'll be heading over to try and get a few bits, plus my mum and dad are going to get us lindam stair gates from there, which are at a really good price.

TouchPauseEngage · 24/01/2015 08:29

Oh brilliant thanks lordy

Think I'm going to need a big mat pillow of some sort as woke up pain free for first time in ages. I'm off to womens physio on Tuesday as the lower back pain I've always suffered from has been dreadful since 8weeks. Hoping it's due to lack of usual exercise rather than spd but first physio I saw got me to do a range of movements whilst holding my pelvis together and it hurt a lot less which make me think I may be suffering from it Sad

LaLa5 · 24/01/2015 08:36

Thanks for new thread! I can't work out if what I'm feeling is movement. I am getting a dull ache like a stitch in my right hand side as if something is pushing from inside. Only happens at night when I'm still. Other than that I've had a few bubble feelings

My nausea is gone but I'm still exhausted, feel heavy and tired. Getting lots of nosebleeds coz my nose is blocked at night.

Mw on tues so hopefully I'll get to hear the heartbeat

LaLa5 · 24/01/2015 08:43

Just realised old thread isn't filled! Very naughty of you all, it needs a good send off Grin

broodylicious · 24/01/2015 08:46

Thanks for the new thread fatty. How are you doing? Been a while since you've popped inSmile

MsRyanGosling · 24/01/2015 08:55

Good morning everyone Smile

Bad this week - laid up in bed being sick after what just have been a dodgy KFC that we had for DS2 13th birthday [sad

Good his week - had my Quad test results back - risk of Down's 1 in 100000 which is incredibly low considering I'm 37 Smile

Ordered my pram which was delivered yesterday - had a free car seat if ordered before end of Jan and DP didn't want to miss out.

We got the Cosatto Giggle 2 in Moonwood and with a 5% discount got it for £367. Pushchair, carry cot, changing bag, reversible footmuff, car seat, car seat adapters and two rain covers, one for pram one for car seat. Good value huh?

Marking place! Speaking of pregnancy pillows, I bought a Theraline pillow this week! I am usually a front sleeper and was starting to feel uncomfortable, as if I might be squashing the babies a bit, so I'm training myself to sleep on my side with the pillow. It's lovely, really comfortable! And I should be able to use it to help with breastfeeding afterwards. Hope you all have a nice weekend!

Thepurplegiraffe · 24/01/2015 09:06

Thanks for the new thread! I am feeling awful today, been sick twice, can't eat, have a cracking headache and feel generally shocking. Today is supposed to be our long awaited day off from dd, lunch and a trip to the cinema but not sure I'm going to make itSad

Ceejay14 · 24/01/2015 09:14

I bought the Dreamgenii pillow this week. I am sleeping better but am tying myself in knots in it in the night! Hopefully I can train myself to move less in my sleep.

SophieBarringtonWard · 24/01/2015 09:27

`marking place!
purplegiraffe we are supposed to be having a day off today too, but DH is on the lemsip & I have a sore throat. Hmmm...

Marking my place xxx

smallgreenbanana · 24/01/2015 09:39

Ladies already with DC - the NCT have offered me a place on a postnatal course when the baby is about 11 weeks old, but it is 15 miles away and I don't drive. So I would need to walk to station, catch train, and walk the other side, leaving the house at 9am in order to get there for 10.30am.

Is this a realistic proposition, do you think? I've heard so much about how impossible it is to leave the house in any sensible time with a small baby, and the whole thing seems quite exhausting just thinking about it! 3 hours travel for 2 hours course. Or do you think I'll be desperate to get out of the house by then?

Naturegirl82 · 24/01/2015 09:50

Just marking place. In the middle of assembling dd1's birthday cake for her party later. Hope it all comes together! Will catch up later Smile

broodylicious · 24/01/2015 10:17

small, I'd have thought by 11 weeks, you'd probably have it all sussed out. Baby won't be sleeping all night (and shouldn't anyway, but don't get me talking about sleep!), will possibly be puking and yes make it impossible to get out the house on time, but you will probably feel happy with how things are going. Personally, I found my local Sure Start Centre invaluable once dh had gone back to work and was in walking distance so gave me some fresh air and exercise. They run breastfeeding groups (mine do it over lunch time and throw in sandwiches and drinks so you defo get something to eat!), weigh ins or clinics with hv, little stay and play sessions, weaning courses (for after six months obvs) and host trips out. I thought ss centres were for.... Erm.... Not the most affluent people, shall I say, but actually all the men and women who went were all professionals! So I'd suggest checking out where your local one is and seeing what's on x

SophieBarringtonWard · 24/01/2015 10:27

I find the disappearance of Surestart centres very sad. Ours are being slashed from 16 to 3 across the borough, only running targeted services (eg young mums etc). I've also had a lot from SS before the cuts.

small I'm sure you would be able to get out of the house by 9am & it might be nice to have that bit of structure imposed iykwim.
