Oh my goodness sparkly!!! That is absolutely disgraceful!! How you are managing to not punch them?!?! They need to take a trip to some of the boards I've had the misfortune to be on in the past year, then they'll effing realise their idiocy, naivety and ignorance AngryAngryAngry fucking knobs. Grrrrr!!!

SparklyPenguin · 25/01/2015 18:31

I know! That did help me, typing it out on here, just to try and remain calm! So ignorant....

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/01/2015 18:32

Evening all, do any of you have an experience with Maternity Allowance? I'm going to need to apply for it, I've been trying to find a number so I can speak to a real person about it as my circs are a bit odd but have had no luck thus far.

naty1 · 25/01/2015 18:34

I think it must be great being an only. Lots of people seem to dislike their siblings. I actually feel a bit cruel making DD share use :)

naty1 · 25/01/2015 18:35

Ops - us

broodylicious · 25/01/2015 18:43

alis, I'm also going to have to talk to someone about MA because I'm self employed this time. Let me know how you get on x

SophieBarringtonWard · 25/01/2015 18:53

alis and broody I am applying for MA too. I have read up a bit on it alis, apparently you call HMRC?

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/01/2015 18:55

I will do, broody. Have the day off tomorrow with my scan in the morning so might put some hours into finding a number! I'm a temp, but directly employed by the company for which I've been working rather than through an agency. Unsure whether I need to submit the form for statutory maternity pay for it to be rejected due to having not worked there long enough to qualify (knowingly iyswim?) before applying for Maternity Allowance. Work have been totally useless and have no idea.

Hopefully will speak to somebody in the know tomorrow!

Alisvolatpropiis · 25/01/2015 18:56

Oh fab, thanks Sophiei! Will be on to them first thing!

StoneBaby · 25/01/2015 18:58

sparkly grr. That'll make me rage. When we announced to DH's family we were expecting number 2, my BIL commented 'it's about time'. My DH looked and frowned at me as he knew I was going to answer something along the lines of - yes, only took 2&½ years and a year of fertility treatment. I just smiled instead [grr]

Nausea is back tonight!

Does anybody use the free verson of Pregnancy+ app and notice more restriction now on what can by accessed?

SophieBarringtonWard · 25/01/2015 19:00

alis yes you need them to fill in form SMP1 stating you are not entitled to SMP. I've asked my work to do the same (am on zero hours contract starting after conception date).

broodylicious · 25/01/2015 19:14

Ah that's great, thanks sophie. Will add that to my to do list.

stone, oh I know that feeling! People just have no idea whatsoever, they think everyone can fall pg at the drop of a hat, no complications or mc along the way and everything is rosy. I'd love to have that naivety back.

jmojo · 25/01/2015 19:19

stone i think pregnancy+ have restricted use after 12 wks or there abouts. I had to pay £2 something for the full ap.

misseskimo · 25/01/2015 20:03

For any ladies who are ahem bigger chested, HoF have selected maternity bras ranging from 30DD-40H for £16-18 in their BlueX sale atm x

Natanotherone · 25/01/2015 20:05

Brody

We had a poddle pod but was swiftly outgrown (matter of weeks) and replaced with the toddle pod. Which we still use. It's great.
They aren't recommended for overnight sleeping though and we only use ours for naps.
If you want something for overnight lots of people rave about the NCT sleepyhead

X

SophieBarringtonWard · 25/01/2015 20:17

Cars - does anyone drive a car that fits 3 car seats across the back that they would recommend?!

Naturegirl82 · 25/01/2015 21:14

Well I've just emailed work to say I'll have to wfh tomorrow. No idea what time the mw will be out to see me. Annoyingly I left my work phone in the office and I've got a conference call so hoping it doesn't cost me too much to use my own phone!

MuddyWellyNelly · 25/01/2015 21:22

Checking in for my one-post-per thread! Having a little rage at the annoying train couple. Given the 4yrs it's taken me to get pregnant with no1.

Can anyone advise me on Bugaboos? Family member has kindly offered me their system. It has a carry cot, car seat and stroller. (I know they haven't had any accidents in the car). She said you can get replacement covers for it. I don't know what type it is though. It's 5 years old. How many models are there? Any reason to not accept a free pram given how much the ruddy things cost...?

Hope everyone is well. 13+5 here.

WiIdfire · 25/01/2015 22:22

Misseskimo - bigger chested?? 40H is already too small, and I havent even started expanding yet. Wish they made underwear for the really bigger chested...

(Sorry. Still grumpy about lack of available underwear. Thanks for the tip anyway, I'll go sulk in silence now Smile )

misseskimo · 25/01/2015 22:40

Oh! Sorry wildfire Blush when your on the fried egg side like I am you tend to think of anything bigger than say a 38D/E is larger chested... Blush shows how naive I am! Lol x

WiIdfire · 26/01/2015 06:14

Lol! I think Im probably outside the normal range really. Sigh.

SophieBarringtonWard · 26/01/2015 08:10

MuddyWellyNelly I am no expert on pushchairs, and have never had a Bugaboo, but I believe they are very popular prams for a reason. Not good for off-roading but great for cities. There is no reason not to accept a free pram from a safety point of view if that is what you are concerned about. Is it a 2010 model then? There are 2010 Bugaboos on Ebay listed at good prices!

Overtiredbackagain · 26/01/2015 08:30

Wow! I seem to have skipped nearly a whole thread?!! I'll be back when I've caught up xx

WantToGoingTo · 26/01/2015 09:04

Does anyone have experience of using a 3 door car with a newborn? I am gettin worried now that the practicality of moving car seat in and out of the back will be triky Confused I have a 3 door vauxhAll corsa.

Sherbet38 · 26/01/2015 09:07

Morning everyone Smile Only 9am & im already exhausted. I've only got myself to work! Sad Roll on the wkd! Wink
