Broody really glad your apt today went well. Sounds like they were just want you needed, informative and supportive.

I don't stress out about scans too much for days before, it's always literally on the day for me that I thrn get mega (I mean MEGA) nervous. At all my scans so far first thing I'm looking for is a heartbeat. Even before the sonographer mentions it's there!! I'm feeling regular movements now so that's reassuring but the 20week scan is a whole diff ball game isn't it. Decided I'll book pm off with MrF and do something nice afterwards (rather than him rushing back to work as its unpaid).

Sorry to hear about your back pain fatty. Hope you get it sorted or at least manageable with the physio. I too have been getting some (albeit mild) lower back pain (I'm nearly 19weeks) and so gonna try the Pilates dvd to help strengthen my core muscles. Zampa we have the same idea on that one! I have never done Pilates but always liked the idea of it! Plus bought a exercise/gym/birth ball to do some exercises on (or just sit watching TV) too.

Good luck stinky and Jen (and any others I forgot) with the 20wk scans coming up tomorrow or soon. & Clstow too!

MuddyWellyNelly · 16/02/2015 22:43

For those of you who've done this before, or are feeling regular movements now.... I'm not going to ask when you started feeling them, as it's different for everyone. But, once you realised they were definitely movements, in retrospect had you been feeling them for a while? Not sure if that makes sense. I'm 16+6 so it's pretty early, but I feel the odd thing and wonder if it could be movement. It's not really the bubbles everyone talks about though, so I wonder how I'm going to go from being unsure, to it being an unmistakeable back flip/karate chop? I am quite thin and have heard that can result in the movements being felt earlier. At a guess I'd also say I don't have an anterior placenta, as the midwife found the heartbeat quickly and clearly at 16+1.

Broody, your consultation sounds really very helpful and calming. Just what you need in your situation.

Good luck for the upcoming anomaly scans.

Fattycow · 16/02/2015 22:45

I never got/get bubbles. At first it felt more like strokes on the inside, now I'm getting more kicks.
I have anterior placenta and my midwife had no problem finding the heartbeat either! She got it in one go last time!

Yeah, strokes from the inside is a good way of putting it. The strokes were a little tickle like at first but in the last few days have become sort of more definite at 19+1.

fattymcfatfat · 16/02/2015 23:03

strokes . sound like it. im 17+5 and not exactly slim but this is baby 3 and all of mine have been early wrigglers. my mum felt this one at 14 weeks! so she now thinks either they are actually right with this one and its a big one or there is more than one and the other has been hiding haha! I told her maybe its just a strong baby but she's having none of it...convinced im going to give birth to a 15lber or somethingShock

MuddyWellyNelly · 16/02/2015 23:19

But right from the start, did you know they were definitely movements? I feel all sorts of things. Some of which feel like wind (sometimes I'm sure on that one Wink), or a sharp stabbing stitch like pain, mild cramp-like pains, stretching pains. Some are relatively familiar, others feel new, but nothing that I would swear my life on as movement.

Did you just know?

The one that got me thinking was as I left the kitchen a couple of nights ago, I actually said "oh" out loud, accompanied with a bit of an intake of breath. It was a bit stingy though, quick and sharp. Like a stitch that was gone before you'd even really registered it was there. I've no idea whether it was the tiny baby or something else entirely.

BadIdeaBear · 16/02/2015 23:33

At 13/14 weeks, I did think maybe it couldn't be movement, and thought it must be wind cos it was so early and I'm a ftm. But within a week, I was pretty convinced despite it being so early. I think if it felt stitchy or 'muscular' at all, it might not be movement. It definitely just feels like a being shuffling around in there...!!

MuddyWellyNelly · 16/02/2015 23:38

Ah ok I will wait until I feel LMFAO going on in there Grin. Thanks all.

WiIdfire · 17/02/2015 03:05

I felt nothing at all until 18+5 when I got a sharp kick. Since then, Ive had kicks and wriggles, but nothing that I had been feeling before.

LaLaLaaaa · 17/02/2015 05:40

Still can't feel anything at 19 weeks :(. Sometimes I think I feel a flip or bubbles but I'm not sure. Last week I lay on my tummy and could feel something flicking me from the inside, but nothing since. Bit worried

TouchPauseEngage · 17/02/2015 07:23

I felt nothing until 20+3. No flutters, no tickles, no bubbles popping. Then I was lay on my back in bed and had 5 hard kicks. Before that I had nothing I would say was movement. I now feel a kicking in the morning and evening. Nothing during the day.
I have no idea where my placenta is but will find out tomorrow. Try not to worry (easier said than done!)

TouchPauseEngage · 17/02/2015 07:26

Should add I spent aaaages doing all the things they say to make baby move and laying there trying to feel it and I'm not overweight. I think they really are telling the truth when they say it's normal not to feel anything until 20-22 weeks. I just didn't believe it!

Zampa · 17/02/2015 07:30

I think I felt my first real movement around 18+5 (last week). It was a sort of back flip motion. There have been flutters before and after which are so different from anything I've felt before, it must be baby!

No definite kicks though. Looking forward to my first one.

Good luck to all the people having scans this week. Smile

MuddyWellyNelly · 17/02/2015 07:56

Definitely seems like I'm looking for it too early then. I'm just trying to find something to do to fill the years weeks until my 20 week scan!

cheetarah · 17/02/2015 08:01

I've been feeling rolling, bubbling, fluttering, moving around since about 15 weeks (now almost 18 wks). I mainly feel it when I'm lying down, first thing in the morning/last thing at night. I sometimes feel it when I'm sitting at my desk too! Its #1 for me but definitely haven't felt this sort of feeling before so sure it must be movement. When it jiggles around a lot my stomach cramps up/goes hard. Good luck to everyone having scans this week.

LostSoulsForever · 17/02/2015 08:22

I am 18+5 preg with 2nd and still not feeling movement so it is worrying me a bit. Hopefully it will start getting active soon. Everyone keeps saying you feel it early with 2nd but not the case for me.
Must start doing exercise & sort diet out. Convinced this baby will be made of sugar when it arrives Blush
On another note, am so fed up with neighbours, they are so loud!!
Hope everyone is well & enjoying pregnancies. x

Fleurchamp · 17/02/2015 10:11

I am 18 + 1 according the NHS dates.

No movement here yet.

Have midwife appointment this afternoon, really hope I get to hear the heartbeat. It seems like a very long time since my 12 week scan!

fattymcfatfat · 17/02/2015 10:26

I cant stop weeing!

Fattycow · 17/02/2015 10:31

I felt movement quite early on. It couldn't be anything else except movement, as it was too much to the front to be my bowels.

Midwifes aren't worried about not feeling much (if anything) up to 28 weeks here!
