I have days when I'm knackered and feel nauseous Sairie, perhaps down to hydration, sleep, nutrient deficient or just a bad day!

That's why I'm keeping an eye on my weight TheBooMonster, having felt like I climbed a mountain to get where I am and keeping it there for 2 and a bit years I don't want to have another mountain with a small baby but I'm also mindful that when bfing my other two I ate what I wanted and lost weight and don't want to not be able to feed this one because I'm too worried about weight gain. Sounds like a rude mothercare assistant!!

hungry club member here..mmm spam and egg butty at work :) (was an hour later arriving than usual on a Friday so i was ready to make heads roll if i didn't get food). Washing it down with a snickers ;)

Take it easy lauren enjoy a day off :)

no nausea or vomiting so far today, feel on top of the world for the first time since I was about 6 weeks pregnant. And it's a Friday so feel even happier!

bless you all that have a bout of the weepies :'( that advert is cute though.
I nearly cried to myself before when I went to the loo coz I was thinking about having to stay in hospital over night (or possibly more) once I have baby. I am so anxious about it!!! I hate hospitals and ashamedly don't even visit people when they're in hospital if I can help it because I get so worked up and start crying. can't stop panicking about it. the thought of being on my own over night because they will send DH home terrifies me. being on a ward would be my worst nightmare :s
ok.. and.. breath.... phew

My doctors was a bit of a ghost town this morning and I only live about 10mins away. In comparison the mw was running 25mins late on Wednesday and the waiting room was full. Just got to hit it right I suppose. (I also got straight through to make an appointment instead of being stuck in a queue and I'm usually number 5 or 6 if you ring at 9)

BananaToast · 30/01/2015 11:41

Hiding would you be able to stretch to a private room for postnatal stay? That might mean that your DH can stay with you all night and not being left alone.

smogsville · 30/01/2015 11:47

Hiding being on the ward is a bit crap. But you get over it. I cried and they let DH stay until midnight.

at my hospital there are private rooms but they're allocated on a need basis as far as I know so I'm unlikely to get one BUT some hospitals do it differently or have enough to let you book one - check it out with mw.

cinnamon every 2 weeks... In 2 two weeks I also have a growth scan...

I have always been on the larger side, usualy size 16 as an adult, creeping up to 18 and 20 in some shops - WHY aren't shops consistent???

in 2010 between miscarriages 2 and 3 I started running and got involved with my local parkrun... didn't lose much weight but felt fitter and better with myself.

After having DD in 2012 I did lose some weight and got to be a size 14 (hooray) and I got my parkrun PB and even did 5 miles (8k) but then mc4 and mc5 sent me in a total comfort eating weight gain spiral and I started this pregnancy back at my heaviest...

However, this prodded me to eat better again and in nearly 30 weeks I have put on 500g in total which I am very very pleased with...

Hope now the next 10 weeks with the GD management will also help lose a bit and towards getting better afterwards...

After this baby, I want to get back to running and in 2016 I might try a 10k and I want to be below 80kgs... for the first time in forever a long time...

Siarie · 30/01/2015 11:54

hiding that's one of the main reasons why I want to be signed off as low risk as there is a birthing centre at my GP. It's really new and only has five rooms but the rooms have proper beds for the lady and birth partner, plus birth pools. The downside is no epidural, they only do very limited pain relief but you can always be taken by ambulance to the hospital if you feel you need it.

If I have to have a c section or become high risk I dread the post natal ward of my local hospital.

TinyTear · 30/01/2015 11:56

cinnamon also, my first 2 parkruns, I was plodding along with the tail runner who was a nice cani-cross lady... although I am not a big dog fan (big scare when I was 4 yo) but managed to keep along and chat

BananaToast · 30/01/2015 12:23

Siarie the midwife led unit at my hospital only has two rooms so I'm really trying not to get my hopes up but that is definitely where I'd rather end up. Each has a birth pool and a partner bed and lots of other lovely active birth equipment and soft lighting. Think I'll be calling up as soon as I'm in labour so they know I'm coming in the hope that will improve the chances of me getting a room there.

I've been so lucky so far, no heartburn since the first trimester?! I'm one of the later April due dates though so maybe it will hit soon?

Squatting what do they put in a tuna crunch, I've been debating trying it for years.

BananaToast · 30/01/2015 12:44

I haven't had any heartburn either yet Siarie, with the exception of one random night when I was around 20 weeks. I panicked after that and stocked up on Gaviscon but touch wood haven't needed it since.

cinnamongreyhound · 30/01/2015 12:45

I think it depends how high your bump is too, my bumps have been high with all three and got heartburn in last trimester. I'm 30w+4 now. I don't seem to have it during the day, it's mostly evenings for me Sad

I have Gaviscon stashed everywhere for the heartburn!

Lauren82000 · 30/01/2015 13:09

My heartburn has been pretty mild and not had me reaching for the gaviscon as it passes after a while on its own. I do have renie in my handbag and gaviscon in my bedside drawer for just incase though.

Banana apparently that is what your supposed to do if you want a specific birthing experience i.e pool. They can tell you if it's free or likely to be free when you get there. Kind of like calling dibs long distance. Unless it's a quiet day and it'll be first come first served.

cinnamongreyhound · 30/01/2015 13:09

Me too SquattingNeville, although my house is never without tinned sweet corn. A sandwich shop we go to occasionally has peanuts in it too!

I'm being a bad mummy today, ds2 is fine now I think, his voice is still funny but he's not had any medicine since yesterday lunch time and his temp isn't high anymore. My minded little boy is poorly so I don't have a school run in the middle of the day so I'm being lazy at home and keeping ds2 home from nursery too! With all this time I should do something but so far other than a load of washing I've done nothing! Probably will vacuum after doctors Grin

smogsville · 30/01/2015 13:15

Not to annoy anyone but I had no heartburn with DD and hoping for none this time either, we'll see how it goes. Have just had an enormous lunch as DD wouldn't eat her pasta and I can't bear wasting food so I finished it so we'll see what the afternoon holds.

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 30/01/2015 13:25

I just drink milk and hope for the best when I get heartburn... which isn't very often.

haven't had lunch, ate 4 weetabix this morning (was really hungry!) and haven't wanted anything since.

might have 2 more later for a snack though, I default to weetabix lately. Mainly due to lack of interest in my food and a desire to not get piles!

BrixtonBunny · 30/01/2015 13:37

I've also not had any heartburn yet (grabs at any and all wood) but my bump is ridiculously low still - I saw a friend who is due five days after me a couple of days ago and her bump is huge, right up to her boobs!

Banana, have you considered swapping hospitals? I'm currently registered at St Thomas's and they have 7 MLU rooms, and 2 pools. But am debating asking to move to Chelsea and Westminster as I think they have 6 MLU rooms but 4 have pools. You might be travelling further but first births are often long anyway?

Siarie I'm constantly knackered! But might be due to working full time.

30+2

PenguinPoser · 30/01/2015 13:38

Lauren glad you got seen, and don't feel bad about being off work it's reassuring that docs couldn't find anything but doesn't mean you were well enough to go to work!

Re heartburn - I would recommend asdas fruity indigestion tablets, they come in a box with 4 rolls of them inside in different fruity flavours. Quite pleasant. I tried some gaviscon the other week for the first time and had to run to the sink retching Blush couldn't handle the thick gloopyness of it!

Enjoy your quieter day cinnamon I bet you don't get them often so make the most of it! I'm enjoying a nicer than normal day at work as well just fingers crossed it stays this way until 6pm rather than the usual
Friday afternoon mayhem!

BananaToast · 30/01/2015 14:21

Brixton I think I'd rather take the risk and end up on the main delivery suite than bother switching hospitals. Mine is only a 5 min drive so really convenient, and I'm really happy with the care I've had there so far. I don't have my heart set on a water birth, just think I'd like to try it out, so if I can't have it it won't be the end of the world.

My plan is to stay at home as long as possible anyway, although who knows how that will go in practice. I would love to turn up to hospital and be 8cm - I dread thinking I'm really far along and being sent away because I'm not in established labour yet.

Luckily, my fiance likes cooking so I don't have to do much of it - he says I need more rest and to sit diwn! So I can and am being lazy, which is good since I look and feel like I'm about to pop! Bump ache isn't a good thing
