Most of my kicks are in my right side, just under my ribs. I feel pushing in my cervix at times and he has stretches where I can feel him pushing in two places at once. My bump also moves from one side to another but as the consultant said at my last scan 'I have extra fluid so his swimming pool is big'!

Anyone else getting pain between their legs at the top? In the kind of dips you get behind those big groin tendons? It feels like bones and muscle but I feel a bit like it's dodgy whether my pelvis might hold together when I stand up, it's sore!!! Not what I thought spd felt like but I do wonder...

I feel all bruised and swollen especially when I stand up "down there"... What is it that pregnancy does to you?!!! I feel like every little thing that involves moving is hard work!

RumNoRaisins · 25/01/2015 23:08

I get the wobbly pelvis thing too daholster, I find it very difficult to turn over in bed or get up from a chair. I try to minimise my use of stairs now and go swimming when I can because I have found that the pain is better for a day or two after I've been for a swim. But mine is mainly at the back of my right hip so it may not work for you.

It's agony in the middle of the night when my bladder is full and I'm getting BHs because of it but I still have to get myself out of bed and hobble in pain to the loo. So undignified!

Floppypotato · 25/01/2015 23:16

daholster you have just described EXACTLY how I feel!! I didn't know what to think! I feel as though (sorry this is a bit grim) all my insides are going to burst out of my upper groin bit! It's pretty painful to get from sitting to standing and during walking. It seems better if I tip forward slightly too.

Hope you get some relief from it soon but just wanted to say I feel just the same way and feel glad (in a way) to read someone else does!! X

dancestomyowntune · 25/01/2015 23:17

My baby is breech and I am feeling movements in my crotch. Very weird, it's like she's trying to kick her way out!

Currently in hospital (since Friday night) with preeclampsia and at the moment she isn't playing ball. Been on ctg monitor for over an hour and she's been extremely sleepy! Been force fed toast and lots of icy water and I now need to pee!

TheBooMonster · 26/01/2015 00:16

Oh no dances what happens if things don't calm down with the preeclampsia? We're breech too, thought madam was trying to turn round earlier but judging by the fact it feels like she's trying to burrow feet first out of my foof I'm going with she didn't manage it!

dancestomyowntune · 26/01/2015 01:13

Worst case scenario I think I could be stuck here for a while and they could decide to deliver early. I have had steroid injections to strengthen baby's lungs as a precaution. Only just 29 weeks though so praying we can hold on a bit longer. That being said she didn't have a very good trace on the Ctg monitor earlier, so I'm currently waiting for the registrar to review us right now.

Oh dances, sorry to hear that - I hope everything goes well and things calm down.

I get kicks all over the place... along with great big wobbly movements that I am guessing indicate a change of position. No idea what they actually mean, of course, but hopefully the midwife at my 28w appt today might be able to shed some light on it all.

BrixtonBunny · 26/01/2015 07:36

Oh dances I'm so sorry, hope you're ok and your other DC aren't too worried about their mummy being in hospital. Keep us updated, really hope your little one gets to keep cooking a bit longer. Though that's good news about getting the steroid injections at least.

Cinnamon that's good to know re: boobs! I just can't invisage it at the moment but sure I'll get used to it in no time. Wink

Boo why does your MiL get to have a say regarding what you spend your money on? Can you try and firmly explain that it's your money/ house/ baby and that seeing as you'll be doing most of the sterilising you want to do it your way? Mattress seems like a no-brainier too, can you just order one and then not tell her? Sounds very frustrating Angry

Re: movements, mine are still mainly belly button or below, but starting to feel a bit more closer to my ribs now and again - the midwife said at my 28 week appointment it was normal. Though also getting little bladder kicks/punches from time to time. Feeling lots of movements either side at the moment so think baby might be lying transverse or in a funny position. Oh well, plenty of time to move round!

FiRaffe · 26/01/2015 07:37

Sorry to hear that Dances - hope you get some good news soon.

Misty - I would drink a pint of ice cold water or something before you do if you can and then give it an hour if you can. I called them and that's what they said to do before they'd do anything else. At least you can say you'be tried it with little/no success. Hope baby gets a wriggle on!

BrixtonBunny · 26/01/2015 07:37

"Bit more closer"?!?!

Gah sleepy fingers Blush

kismac · 26/01/2015 08:01

Oh no Dances. I hope everything settles and they let you home soon.

Misty, I normally give baby a poke/lie on my left side or front and that normally gets baby moving.

Really jealous of those who have baby names sorted. We keep going to have the conversation but then both keep chickening out.
Baby is head down (or was 3 weeks ago at scan) and I pretty much have l foot in my rib most of the time which means the baby is headbutting me in the bladder?! Wee weirdo! Baby has daddy's long legs which isn't good since Im only 5ft 3 so convinced I going to explode.

Phoned in sick today as spent most the night being sick. Probably my fault as I had haggis which is kinda a banned food so body probably decided to reject it. It was really tasty at the time.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/01/2015 08:31

I find now poking bits get him moving Misty414, if you are genuinely worried then call they can only say no can't they!

I fed ds1 until 15 months and ds2 until 2 1/2 BrixtonBunny so many had to get used to it Smile

Sorry to hear you're in hospital Dancestomyowntune! Really hope your little one hangs in in their a bit longer!

Sorry to hear you're in hospital dances hope things are ok. Sounds like they are keeping a really close eye on you which is good.
Kismac hope you feel better soon!

Misty I would second what others have said about movements but if you're in any doubt just ring midwife/hospital and sure they will be happy to check you over.

I'm going to experiment with some batch cooking today - have been wanting to make some ham broth in the slow cooker so will try and see if it works, if so will be something good to fill my freezer with in weeks to come. Not back at work until Thursday which feels lovely - then after this week due to annual leave and midwife appts I only have two 4 day weeks and two 3 day weeks left, so feels like I'm winding down a bit already!

daholster · 26/01/2015 08:32

Oh dear kismac, feel better soon, I hope it has stopped now.

dances good luck. If the ctg is not right and she isn't happy then they will do what is best for her, and I'm sorry if that's delivery and will cross fingers it isn't! But if it is she's had the jabs and the care at 29 weeks is pretty good these days, the odds are well stacked in her favour so keep your chin high. So long as she is safe that will be all that matters in the long run. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and wishing for the best.

It's nice to know others feel similar to me though I feel sorry for you all! At the moment I have no idea how I will manage another 11-13 weeks!!! Getting up is a mission then I limp for a while before I can walk like a vaguely normal person. I do not remember this so early last time!!!

Lauren82000 · 26/01/2015 09:05

Oh no Dances, at least you are in the best place for care. Can I ask how they discovered you having pre-eclampsia? Not sure if I missed that post somehow.

Well I had a really odd dream last night about reusable nappies and now it's got the idea back in my head so sat researching. Not even sure I'd have the patience for washing and drying when I can barely be bothered to do the washing for the 3 of us as it is, and I can't remember if I closed the freezer door after I'd got the chicken out... Blush stupid baby brain.

AnniaFausta · 26/01/2015 09:09

(Also - today I have finally given in and put on the maternity jeans I bought months ago, thinking that the stretchy elastic waistband would never be that useful. Oh, how wrong I was. I have also just splurged on gap.com for some more jogging bottoms and a nice black skirt to wear to work - hopefully that's the end of the maternity wardrobe expansion, unless I end up needing more soft bras!)

BananaToast · 26/01/2015 09:12

Sorry to hear you're in hospital dances - fingers crossed baby will hold on a bit longer for you.

smogsville · 26/01/2015 09:51

Dances thinking of you and wishing you good luck.

Misty how are you getting on with the iced water? Defo just call mw if you're concerned.

Kismac hope you feel better as day progresses and good luck to anyone with pelvic pain too. At least we're on the home stretch.

My biggest problem is bladder capacity esp on my commute which can be up to 90mins door to door if the tubes don't line up. Not sure how much longer I'll be able to do it without a halfway loo pitstop! ATM I'm absolutely parched by time I get here as too frightened to drink more than the tiniest sip when thirsty after running between platforms.

Squidge14 · 26/01/2015 09:57

Morning everyone!

Dances so sorry to hear your in hospital Sad hope they can stabilise things for you and baby can keep cooking for as long as possible.

with regards to movement I'm feeling it all over really still get quite a lot low down but my right side level with my belly button is another popular punch bag, anyone else find the swooping dragging movements really weird?! They literally make my eyes go all wide and shocked! And seeing my belly moving and changing shape like there's a Mexican wave happening in there Grin When does the midwife start to check the baby's position by the way? I've got my 28 week apt next week, will she do it then?

Another tip for encouraging movement that works for me is shining my phone torch on my belly and moving it around or playing music to the bump!

no leaky boobs here but I have gone up a cup and back size, which I can't say I'm sad about I was only a B before so it's like a free boob job!

For nappies, I've only got a couple of packs of the smaller sizes and a few different makes to test, I got some Eco-friendly ones from Boots, that I would be quite happy if they worked as I'm too lazy to do re-usable so it would ease some of the guilt!

27weeks today

Squidge14 · 26/01/2015 10:00

Also another question, has anyone moved hospitals half way through a pregnancy? Is it easy enough to do? I will be moving in March (hopefully [hmmm]) and the nearest hospital will be Darenth Valley instead of Queen Elizabeth, I do want to change as I've heard really good things about DV but a mixed bag for QE so would prefer to be at the MLU in DV I think!

Has anyone done a tour yet?

Hidingthefear · 26/01/2015 10:08

i've not tried the torch thing yet squidge but might give it a go. Bump seems to be a Sam Smith fan ;)

Fingers crossed for you dances every day cooking is a bonus and good to hear they are giving the steroids now as precaution.

Not sure she checked the position when I had my 28 week appointment, she just said all was fine. she might have checked but not said anything.

29 weeks today Grin

Thank you squatting! I had an appointment last week but the student midwife did most of the apt and the midwife was there for support, she did the heartbeat and measured me but didn't mention how baby was lying! I like to guess myself when I feel lumps and bumps but it would be nice to know!
