20th JSing GRADS thread - our chat's still filthy, just not in front of the baby...

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 20th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 37th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

I haven't gone into the real gories about leave just yet fleur waiting for my scan on Monday to get my confirmed EDD and then I'm going to thrash out my leave (And trying to get the holiday entitlement front loaded). It's actually keeping me awake at night, which is daft. I want to finish at 35 weeks, which takes me to the end of april. I told my boss at about 6 weeks, but I was rough as, and she guessed something was wrong.
I've got a similar 'proposals' situation to you pis - I've not got cover either, and we are only a very small team = unpopular Tee. I think they know I am not keen on coming back after ML too, which has caused some ill feeling.
bleugh lauren I don't envy you with the luco! Hope it goes okay!

How was your Night in Zyla? Are you still being held hostage? x

ChatEnOeuf · 20/01/2015 10:47

Ick, I can't stand Lucozade, no diabetes in our family but they test for everything here so I doubt I'll escape.

Hope scan is ok Zyla

Hope your bosses take the news well viroids! Last time around my boss got the double whammy that I was not only pregnant, but had been admitted and couldn't work the nights I was meant to that weekend. Yet she still said congratulations and told me to pre-register for nursery

Pisghetti · 20/01/2015 10:52

Fleur you aren't obliged to confirm your leave dates until 25 weeks (and you probably won't have your MatB1 form before then which you need for your company to calculate eligibility to SMP).

I'm pretty lucky in that we have a clued up maternity department and a maternity policy available online which set out everything in regards to rights. The only thing that wasn't covered explicitly in the mat policy was bank holidays so I confirmed my dates in writing setting out exactly when my maternity leave period would start and end, how many days leave would be accrued (including bank holidays) and the dates I intended to use that leave before and after my maternity leave dates. I also included the relevant notice periods that would apply should I wish to change the dates (for the sake of clarity). Although I didn't need it in the end, I had links to the relevant information online at the ready should any of it had been questioned. I think it's best to avoid getting drawn into a debate about it. Just lay out exactly what you know you should have and point anyone that queries it in the direction of appropriate guidance.

KatoPotato · 20/01/2015 11:00

New Fred! And it's a whopper! Where's Wil? Did she drop the b-bomb?

Tee, I'm stopping work 21st April, I'll be 36+4 and I can't wait! Using carried over leave for this, as even though my official EDD is the 15 May, I'm having an ELCS which would be on the 8th May - so yikes, I've lost a week!

DH is very busy on a project so working night, day and weekend. Due to stop mid Feb, but I'm desperate for him to go into the garage and eaves to look out DS1 old stuff. I've had a panic that I have no idea where I put the car seat adapter clips for the bugaboo, or the newborn insert wedge from the carseat. I also wanted to buy a Perfect Prep while it was £60 on Amazon but he said too soon and now It's went back up another £10!

Will go back and RTFT!

Pisghetti · 20/01/2015 11:04

HR department not maternity department...

Anyone else constantly using the wrong words for stuff? I'm doing it all the time!

mountaingirl01 · 20/01/2015 11:09

Argh. So got my booking appointment through for community midwife yesterday. Rang to confirm this morning and they tell me I will also need a booking in at the hospital (I am -hopefully- giving birth in a different county). Rang the hospital, they have not had the referral and said they wouldn't see me till 10weeks anyway no chance of an early scan despite 2 recent mcs which they could see by my referrals to epu also despite the fact I 'don't know my dates properly' -may not have mentioned I know tp within acouple of days when I ovulated- feel pretty pissed off that they really didn't seem to care :(
Going to book in for a private scan which I really didn't want to do as I'm already stressing over money if this is a viable bean, plus I really would have thought they should scan! (Also high risk of multiples...)

mountaingirl01 · 20/01/2015 11:10

Sorry for rant

Fleurchamp · 20/01/2015 11:14

Yes! pisone of the reasons I have to tell work, I am making loads of silly mistakes!!

ZylaB · 20/01/2015 11:22

Ok, I'm home! No scan, they decided in the end that last week's scan was fine and I shouldn't have been kept in last night, sigh. I have got to go back tomorrow morning though to see consultants. It's SO good to be home, I think I'm going to catch up on sleep later though.

Fleurchamp · 20/01/2015 11:23

mountain rant away! I would have thought, given your history, they would scan.

TBH this is my first brush with the NHS and I can tell you I am seriously unimpressed. Not with the staff themselves but the so called "procedures" which vary wildly between trusts (and even within the same trust). The extra time, stress and admin it causes is ridiculous.
E.g. My 20 week scan was booked at my 12 week scan. I was given a printed letter, in duplicate, there and then. I have just received another in the post. I have also received a text reminder - the appointment is 2nd March.
I have also received a snotty letter from the other hospital in my trust saying that I didn't turn up to my 12 week scan appointment (I cancelled it as it was for the wrong hospital) and that I wasted an appointment that someone else could have used.
Aaarghh!
So much time and resource wasting!

mountaingirl01 · 20/01/2015 11:32

I know fleur, I spend my life in the nhs and m driven mad vy the crazy procedures and ideas they throw at us. If the powers that be would only consult us on the floor! Drives me potty that they never just ask the people that will be putting those procedures into practice. steps off soapbox

Glad your home zyla :) enjoy being in your own bed!

Now feeling decidedly queasy. Hurrah! Ridiculous how happy I am about this, especially after having cramps throughout the night

laurenamium · 20/01/2015 11:39

Good luck to those telling bosses!

kato I'm getting induced a week early too and so I'm losing a week too...I'm considering bringing my mat leave forward a week for some of my more difficult mindees but haven't fully made my mind up on that one yet!

I'm home from hospital and in full cleaning nesting mode Grin I'm feeling really positive for the first time in months too that everything is going to be okay, so enjoying that feeling. DP has taken himself to bed saying he has the same bug as DD had, apart from he hasn't been sick. Or had arse rain Hmm so I'm calling bull shit

ChatEnOeuf · 20/01/2015 11:48

Don't get me fucking started on the utter madness that is the nonclinical bits of the NHS...I'll never shut up Angry Grin

TheBooMonster · 20/01/2015 12:02

kato check out the asda baby event, they perfect prep is on offer!

TheBooMonster · 20/01/2015 12:06

Who is redshoes? did she name change as I don't recognise the name?

KatoPotato · 20/01/2015 12:12

Thank you Boo! It's on the site but out of stock, have you seen it in store at all?

Pisghetti · 20/01/2015 12:15

Redshoes doesn't pop in often but she was a long timer on the JS threads and had a successful round of IVF treatment. I got my BFP on the JS thread she started Smile

Purplecircle · 20/01/2015 12:50

Been to the diabetic appointment. Have to up my insulin. They said my blood sugar is good but not good enough Hmm
I've to increase my dose and phone the nurse with revised bloods on Friday, then go back for another appt in 2 weeks. Repeated nauseum for the whole pregnancy it seems

I had to have my height and weight done and a blood test
They also wouldn't do me a 7 week scan Hmm even when I mentioned NICE guidelines!
I think I have to tell my boss at least unofficially as I'm going to have loads of hospital appointments and it affects client bookings. If I put do not book in my calendar too much she gets arsy!

Purplecircle · 20/01/2015 12:52

Perfect Prep was £70 in Tesco.

Zyla I'm glad you're home sweetie

TheBooMonster · 20/01/2015 13:23

I can't get to a store on my own steam unfortunately kato, so I have no idea, but I wouldn't be overly surprised if they've got them in for the event. Failing that perhaps whilst it's at the offer price maybe you could get another shop to price match?

ah! thanks pis I just didn't recognise the name is all, was taking a look at the due date list and gave myself a fright, as with Wil having snuck a baby out, and not recognising RedShoes I felt very close to the top! trying so hard not to start panicking about how much needs doing and buying still

lildottie · 20/01/2015 14:17

I miss red. hope she's OK. her blog is here if anyone is interested. she started it when they started 3rd ivf cycle and last updated after Christmas.

zyla glad you are home, how annoying about scan!

mountain yay for nausea! lol. also annoying about scan! will an early scan change anything if not viable? if there wouldn't be anything you could do maybe save your money? although I understand piece of mind is priceless. Thanks

lildottie · 20/01/2015 14:17

*peace not piece!

ZylaB · 20/01/2015 14:18

Boooo about the scan purple!!! I've just had my insulin majorly reduced, between us we'd get there! Just get used to becoming even more of a pin cushion. It'll be worth it though!

Stoatystoat · 20/01/2015 14:29

That's rubbish about the scan purple. I'm not going to be able to wait for 12 weeks. I work near a private hospital that does them for £80, so I think that's going to be happening.

My doctor doesn't need to see me apparently, I just ring MW at 8 weeks to arrange my booking in at 10 weeks.

Hope you're all powering through the afternoon. I'm doing surprisingly well considering back to back meetings, living the decaf life and a tentative visit to the gym (walking mainly, too scared to do much).

Purplecircle · 20/01/2015 14:42

I'm ok with paying for peace of mind. It's not extortion and I'm being a good girl on no spend January well almost, apart from a body shop party and a soup tureen in the sales
I need to save more cash though, it's my mat leave fund!
