JennyOfOldstones - Have you seen this? www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Brown-Fluffy-Snowsuit/LC8845,default,pd.html#q=snowsuit this is the bear snowsuit we bought but we bought it for when it gets cold next winter. We had to, it went down from £32 to £12, who could resist?!

JennyOfOldstones · 10/01/2015 12:35

I've seen that one in the shop! Love it!

JennyOfOldstones · 10/01/2015 12:40

Just googled animal outfits for babies I think this is my favourite...

Hahaha, that is amazing!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 10/01/2015 15:39

Aaaargh my skin is soooo dry, especially on my forehead, it's just disgusting!! I'm shedding bits everywhere, gross. I always have dry skin so am well armed with moisturisers but not even stuff like E45 or epaderm is cutting it HmmHmmHmm So itchy too Hmm

That's a nice welcome for the newbies, isn't it?! Sorry!

Emz1989 · 10/01/2015 15:42

Really feel like a lurker - I read the board daily but often don't get round to posting!
I'm having very similar, unfortunate symptoms! My skin has never been drier, I've taken to giving my face a coating of bio oil before bed when I'm rubbing it into my tummy - doesn't seem to be making much difference though! Total insomniac too, I've borrowed a dreamgenii maternity pillow from a friend and touch wood, seem to have dozed off easier since having that!
I'm not offended by pink/blue but don't feel the 'need' to dress a girl 'girly' or a boy in 'boyish' clothes. It's our first and we've decided we're definitely not going to find out the gender, really pleased to be doing the babys room in neutral beiges and cream and stocking up on 'gender neutral' baby clothes!

On another note I'm wearing my over bump maternity jeans for the first time today - it's bizarre how 'pregnant' this has made me feel! Of all the milestones, a stretchy waistband has had this effect on me lol! Xx

katbags · 10/01/2015 15:42

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone Flowers

Sunbathing The skin thing was a shock for me. I knew hoping for a radiant glow was a bit ambitious but my skin's the worst it's been since I was a teenager - simultaneously dry and spotty. And a bit grey Confused Makes me look knackered despite sleeping like a log!

Emz1989 · 10/01/2015 15:43

Got a bit carried away adding 2 kisses on the end of my previous post - forgot where I was for a second! Not that I'm against spreading the love a bit Blush x

JennyOfOldstones · 10/01/2015 15:55

emz I just got two pairs of over bump jeans from mothercare in the sale, so excited to get them on! I have been looking forward to it so much! Have been in jeggings but they are starting to get a bit tight!

JennyOfOldstones · 10/01/2015 15:56

I nearly put kisses on a work email the other day but just caught myself! Nothing wrong with spreading the love though x Wink

Chookford · 10/01/2015 16:27

kat congrats and welcome to the thread

pregnant welcome back!

I don't really care about colours either I just go for what clothes I like dd spent most of her first year in rompers I loved them!

pas my skin has been the same I found the only thing that helped me was bio oil mixed in with my moisturiser that seems to have helped a lot!

bubalou · 10/01/2015 16:47

Welcome newbies Smile

Pas - my skin was lovely with DS. Not this time. Shit. Spots and dry, dry, dry skin! I really take care of my skin and use all the right products but it's always dry.

Definitely hormone related as pre-pregancy my hair needed washing every 2 days. At the moment and past 2-3 months I've been anything up to 4 days and even then it still isn't even slightly greasy but I wash it because I feel I must. Blush

It's not really dry or anything but
I'm enjoying the non-greasy part.

Re - baby colours I LOVE - blue, white and yellow outfits on girls. Next have a beautiful little dress in these colours with baby blue knitted tights and if this bean turns out to be a girl in 9 days I will be getting it straight away as I'm sooo fussy with girls clothes.

I'm dreading the new round of hideous clothing over the next few years from the in-laws. I sound mean but I mean AWFUL! Shock

PregnantAndEngaged · 10/01/2015 16:51

Pregnancy skin is strange isn't it? I've also got a rash on my lower back where my skin got dry. It's not itchy and it's not sore, it's just there and feels like a scaly dry patch :S

Welcome new people!

I really take care of my skin too but it's never been great due to hormones. However when I was pregnant with DD it was perfect for the first time in my life! I was looking forward to the same again but no such luck this time. It's not any worse than normal, but not any better either.

I don't like all the navy clothes for boys, I prefer more neutral or brighter colours. I'm dreading getting clothes as gifts as there is really not much out there that I like.

Chookford · 10/01/2015 16:59

tori yes 4head is fine to use ( checked with gp, midwife and pharmacist!) its the only thing that clears my headaches!

AnythingNotEverything · 10/01/2015 17:30

Cuphat thankfully most people send gift receipts Grin and thank god they do. DD is ginger (huge surprise!) and so much just doesn't suit her. She looks ridiculous is white and most pinks. We've exchanged a fair bit. I really don't think people mind ...

My skin is shit too. Lots of hormone type acne on my cheeks. Had the same with DD. Thankfully my hair is like Bubalou's and barely needs washing at the mo. It's a real treat.

Welcome to the newbies. The more the merrier. We have a Facebook group too - shout up if you want to join.

PregnantAndEngaged · 10/01/2015 17:54

Oh cool, I'm on facebook :)

SpodoKomodo · 10/01/2015 17:57

pas have you tried the Nivea in shower moisturiser? My skin has also gone to shit but I use that plus an extra body lotion after and that helps a bit. I'm getting loads of spots too. Hot cloth cleansing and facial oil is helping a bit.

Never really understood what people mean by "you're glowing". I've been told that about 20 times but my face looks exactly the same as it always did!

cuphat · 10/01/2015 18:17

My hair rarely needs washing anyway as it's naturally curly and dry. Unfortunately the only way my curls look half decent is if I wash it.

Chookford · 10/01/2015 18:20

I only wash my hair once a week anyway as I have very thick hair so it takes ages to get greasy but pregnancy makes my hair very wavy it used to be poker straight! Hormones certainly do some strange things to skin and hair!

wheresmybiscuit · 10/01/2015 18:20

I don't have my scan until the 10th of February but both myself and DP would love to know the sex, so that we could stop calling it THE BABY and start reffering to it as him or her. However, during my 12w scan I noticed a sign in the hospital saying that it's not their policy to tell the sex, so don't ask not to be disappointed. Surely they can't hide the information from me if I do ask? Or does that mean we'll have to book a private gender scan? Hmm

cuphat · 10/01/2015 18:34

Unfortunately hospitals in some areas don't tell you the gender (it can be for a couple of reasons) so if that's what they say in yours you'll have to book a private gender scan.
