Tru, i really need to get on the batch cooking thing- so far have just made two portions of shepherds pie base!! We have a whole freezer in the garage just waiting for an opportunity like this!

Home from the baby shower- was lovely to see everyone, there were minimal games and everyone bought me presents too, which i was not expexting at all and got ridiculously flappy and red faced about- there are three of us in this one particular friendship group who are due within a month of each other and as being in the spotlight makes me stupidly nervy, i said to just do the shower for the other two so i wouldnt have to stress out. Still, feeling quite lucky to have such lovely friends!

I'm having my baby shower tomorrow. I don't really believe in them as I don't like the idea of having a party solely to get presents, but my best mate kept asking and I've caved. The only one I've ever been to was hers and I. Organised it so it should be ok. There will just be 6 of us having a kind of afternoon tea round one of our houses.

Baby hasn't been moving as vigorously these last few days. Plenty of moving, just smaller. I guess it is just due to the reduction in room as the frequency is still there.

GeekyHybrid · 10/01/2015 21:50

grinning I'm with you on the baby shower thing, mine was sprung on me by well meaning friends who'd simply said we'd have a girls get-together! Luckily there weren't too any games and it was mostly just sitting around having a good natter. And because we didn't get around to the 'guess the baby food flavour' game, the jars of food went to the local food bank :-D
The movements have changed here too, it's less definitely kicking and more like LO is squirming or attempting to stretch, quite painful when it decides to have a stretch :-/ Literally feels like the bump is going to puncture at times. Hey ho.

freneticfox · 10/01/2015 21:54

I have what might be a daft question.. Is it normal to have REALLY noisy digestion at this stage? Apparently even just a sip of water makes my stomach gurgle like a ravenous beast...(TMI warning) And everything bowel wise is a little.. Loose.

I assume it's lack of space, organs being squished?

LittleMissSunshine33 · 10/01/2015 22:05

Grinning mine is next weekend and I'm the same didn't really want one but it's just close friends and family and actually quite looking forward to it now, have told them not to buy presents though! But we will see!

TMI ... Frenetic mine is loose too and am getting the worse pains when I need to go, I thought it was BH!

BanglesSpangles · 10/01/2015 22:12

Greedily, because i didnt want a big baby shower in the usual sense, my sister organised afternoon tea at the place i got married with family and my closest friends in a few weeks- no games, no presents, just a nice opportunity for tea and scones :)

Memphisbelly · 10/01/2015 22:13

Frenetic yes my guts sound like a washing machine and I have has loose bowels for the majority of the pregnancy and its now getting worse Confused

I have pigged put on a chinese tonight I a, still very very grumpy I feel last nights pains were a one off

purpleteapig · 10/01/2015 22:18

I reckon I'll buy new mattresses then after reading what you said WhyO - just to put my mind at rest.

Frenetic, I'm the same the past few days - it's all much looser. Think it was like this last time too so I think it's normal!

Enjoy your baby showers everyone who has them coming up!

freneticfox · 10/01/2015 22:19

I'm glad it seems to be normal... I'm honestly still quite anxious about the thought of having any kind of stomach virus, especially while I'm not very mobile... if my noisy guts are to be expected then I can totally handle it!

GeekyHybrid · 10/01/2015 22:40

Afternoon tea sounds most civilised bangles.
As for loose bowels I'm jealous of you guys. I've been constipated since the start, a swig of lactulose every morning has kept things just about moving but can't wait to get back to 'normal'! And have some energy. And not have heartburn. I do however doubt the sleep issues will be solved ;-/

GeekyHybrid · 10/01/2015 22:45

Doh! I forgot to whinge about pulled tummy muscles every time I blow my nose / roll over in bed etc... ;-D

Grinningcat · 10/01/2015 22:51

There shouldn't be any games, but just a chance to have a natter and eat cake and scones which I can certainly cope with Grin.

Re constipation geeky I recommend a couple of dried prunes every couple of days as its worked for me and I was really constipated for the first few months. Now as of today I'm getting 'fanny daggers' I'd rather have the constipation!

I am glad other people's movements have also changed as for the first day I was worried, but now I realise that it is to be expected as there is less room. I also hope that maybe it means than baby has turned around. 34 week app on Tuesday andI'm hoping Mw says he/she has, although I'm sure I'd have noticed that much movement surely?

donkir · 10/01/2015 23:06

My baby shower is also next weekend and other than knowing who's coming I have no idea what my friend has planned. I'm not used to being the centre of attention at all. Will be nice to see everyone together though.
Movements also different here. Lots more stretching and definite fanny daggers. 36+2
Right off to try and sleep. See you all in a few hours.

sophspot · 10/01/2015 23:40

Lovely to have a new thread for final stretch. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow but likely to be induced around 38/39 weeks. Very ready to meet lo. Heartburn really cranked up a notch anyone else got achy legs at night ? and movements much more rounded then single kicks. But plenty of them lol Smile

PinkyAndTheBump · 10/01/2015 23:51

36w Monday - scan & consultant check. Going to ask to have notes formally updated to say "birthing unit" instead of "delivery suite" if at all possible!

We picked up pram & car seat etc today and also did mega food shop to do the batch cooking.

Really bad heartburn and someone who likes sticking her foot under my ribs! The storms over last few nights have also made sleep difficult.

2more weeks of work in the office then a week wfh. I really screwed up on that as I'd rather finish next week so I can chill out!

Hey ho!

Memphisbelly · 11/01/2015 07:48

I actually slept last night! Woke at 6 though and still lying in bed now! Going for a walk later and then will hopefully have energy to sort last bits in house that need doing

BanglesSpangles · 11/01/2015 07:56

Morning all, think have now found a way to turn over in bed that doesnt involve physically having to get out (that said, i did get up 4 times anyway to do some stretches because i was cramping up so badly!- soph- im definitely getting the achy legs!)

Going to go clean some stuff now- theres a big to do list for today as i did shag all yesterday and would quite like to intersperse the work with some chilling out!

OP posts:
GeekyHybrid · 11/01/2015 08:16

Yay to sleeping! However, my method of just being so knackered from doing too much does mean I'm achey this morning, and probably why I was grumpy last night! Oh well, it does mean the nursery walls are closer to being ready for paint Grin

Grinningcat · 11/01/2015 09:06

Oh I had such an awful night last night with PGP. At one point I got up and went downstairs because I starting crying with the pain and I didn't want to disturb DH anymore than I had. Saying that it was partly his fault as I was trying to keep up with him in town when we went to pick up the cot mattress. I knew I was walking too fast, but after his comment the other week about not walking faster I stupidly tried to. I think from now on I go alone so I can go my own pace. It is better this morning, but down to the levels of earlier yesterday so I think it will ramp up again through the day.

sandulacek · 11/01/2015 09:35

Grinning, I'm usually a fast walker but these days I demand my DH slows down Smile.

ok ish nights here, still waking up loads but it's more about the turning...such a complicated process!

Memphisbelly · 11/01/2015 09:39

Grinning my dh cannot do right he either walks ahead of me or behind me he cannot seem to walk the same pace as me, I also slow down as time goes on needless to say he kind of refuses to go anywhere with me now! Grin

Ds is playing with his animal toys he has 3 gorillas and listening to him is so sweet its 'mummy, big brother and baby brother' they are going on holiday on a boat (which happens to be the baby carseat which is sitting in the living room Grin

Grinningcat · 11/01/2015 09:53

Memphis that is so sweet.

Still in bed, but contemplating getting up to do some painting in the baby's room.

Minichuch · 11/01/2015 10:42

Grinning I need to contemplate doing more painting

Need to finish spare room and stairs so can be recarpeted - figure still got 7 weeks to go so should be fine Hmm - instead am going to watch 26 blokes run round a rugby field and get hot and sweaty - oh I am so easily distracted lol

Hope all have a fab Sunday

longbottom · 11/01/2015 10:47

I am on operation hospital bag today, ordered baby changing bag last night so I can get babies bits for hospital packed once that arrives.

I slept pretty well last night. Sorry for all of you struggling with sleep.

JacktheLab · 11/01/2015 15:32

Afternoon all,

Hope everyone is having a nice day, we've been out for a big walk, bought ear plugs for when I'm in hospital and a new change bag and an account book so I can do the scary sums each month and try not to over spend - it's been a sobering afternoon! I've got a sausage casserole in the slow cooker and DH and DS are watching american football, although it's a game from yesterday as the NFL operate a blackout so they wont show live games, but it still keeps him happy :)

I have a need to rewash all the baby clothes now, which is not a bad idea I guess then I can get the hospital bags all packed and ready for two weeks - eek!

I'm impressed with all the painting going on, our house desperatly needs to be repainted, we did it when we moved in five years ago, but things are looking a bit scruffy, but I hope to get on with it whilst I'm on maternity leave and the weather is a bit better, not quite sure exactly when, but....
