Hi

The May thread is so long, thought I'd start another about the SCAN!!!

I am 10+4 and just got my appointmentfor 25 October- I'll be 12+5 then. I can't wait! It seems ages away, just dying to relax and enjoy this but I wont let myself until I know all is well.

Oh, and for those who have done this before, I hear the midwifes tell you off if you get too fat in first trimester- how fat is too fat? I have put on about 5lbs already- will they expect me to diet?

hello ladies. dh left this morning. i am very, very sad he is gone. it is only a week and a half that he will be away but i can't stop crying. he left two hours ago and i am already a mess. perhaps this is all due to preg hormones. i don't know. all i do know is that ten more days feels like an eternity and i feel so bad for my little boy who has to hang out with a crying mama until daddy gets home. this MUST be hormones. i never act like this normally. i had a serious battle with pnd after ds was born and was prescribed anti-depressants that helped tremendously. i stayed on them for nine months and then decided to go back on them about two weeks ago because i started to feel really down again. (by the way, they are considered safe in pregnancy, though i am sure not taking anything is the safest way to go.)
i just upped the dose this morning so hopefully in a few days it will kick in and help me out.
to make things a little more complicated my morning sickness has returned. i had a cup of yogurt and a bit of coffee this morning and then lost it about twenty minutes later. yucky.
sorry about the rambling session, but i am not going to promise it won't happen again! it helps to get it out even if it is in an anonymous online forum.
i hope you all are having a lovely sunday. surely mine will improve in a little while.

Jessinwa: sorry to hear your sad, 10 days will fly. Try to get some pampering time in, if it doesn't make you feel better it will make the time go quicker.

I'm sure the crying thing must be pg related. I absolutly sobbed my heart out at last nights casualty and crying for TV is not one of my habits. Used half a box of tissues and went to bed feeling like I had a cold. So stuffed up from crying.

lg&t sat for 5 mins trying to think of gory name for you. It is hard, obviously haven't watched enough horrors in my time. Sorry!

Gosh, you ladies can talk! I cant catch up properly, as I need to make my tea in the next 5 mins, however??

Moomimin, Creena welcome!

Jess, so sorry to hear how upset you are. Hormones will be making this so much worse. Have you got family or frinds close by who you can spend a little extra time with/or can give you a hand so you are not on duty 24/7?

Peanut butter. Mmmm. I?ve been eating loads of it since pgt. Peanut butter and jam or with bananas together is just heaven. I love the stuff, I just deny myself usually as its so fattening. DS has just been introduced and seems be enjoying it too.

MKG, tell me more about these fluffernutters? This sounds like something I should be eating. What?s marshmallow fluff? I don?t think we have that here. As for marmite ? WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! There?s no excuse for marmite.

I had a really bad pgt mummy moment yesterday. I made a cake last night (Nigella?s Quadruple Choc Cake, since you ask), totally forgot about my butterbean and licked the spatula covered in the raw cake mix. Oops. Bad mummy, bad mummy

Apart from that, its been a good weekend. Right, must go, hunger overwhelming?.

Oh Jonah,
Don't worry about the cake mix. I made oatmeal cookies the other day and ate half the batter. I'm sorry but it just tastes better before it's cooked. I grew up doing that though. My sister would always make the dough and then we would eat it. It's especially good if you put it in the fridge for a few hours. But who can wait that long?

Im watching Dirty Dancing and will def be blubbing in a mo....

oh my goodness - what a great debate over peanutbutter/marmite!!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Marmite. I really like it as cheesey beans on toast special where you butter and marmite the toast and then add the beans and cheese. Also another fav is marmite on toast with dairylea yummmmy!

Peanut butter - i like the sound of all the other ingredients, jam, bananas, fluff, nutella just not the actual PB itself.

TYG - how was X Factor? Wanted either Ashley or Deonne to go.

That choc cake is so delicious jonah, i made the old fashioned one for the twins b day cake this weekend also yum! I liked the spatula too, it is so good. That Ben and Jerrys cookie dough ice cream is just fab

Anyone found peanut butter ice cream? Have i discovered a niche in the market?!

MKG · 15/10/2006 19:57

LG&T,

You know what you do. Take vanilla ice cream and just scoop peanut butter in. That is even better then peanut butter ice cream (which we have here I might add)

All I know is that you are sooo deprived over there. Come to the other side of pond. You can move to my town because we have an "English brew pub" so if you feel the need for "English food" you can go there.

I don't think I could live in the UK because it seems that there is nothing to eat.

So tempting, i always fancied emigrating, not sure doing it for lucky charms, fluff and peanut butter icecream are valid reasons though. Ohmigod reading that list it is sooo worth it. Start looking for a place for me, remember i need a big house for 5 + bump! Sure you want me near you?!

MKG · 15/10/2006 20:17

Why not. I live in the best part of the country I think. One hour away from NYC, an hour and half away from Philadelphia. We are in a really rural/suburban area, but can get to the city whenever we want. I used to live in Arizona where the sky is beautiful and the desert is awesome, but there is nothing like seeing rolling hills of green.

It sounds lovely MKG, and you have such yummy food. Our food can be ok, if you like fish and chips! Am off to eat a toasted teacake now do you have those? Kind of a big hot cross bun, split and toasted with lots of butter. Still peanut butter ice cream would win hands down

Good evening, everyone! I didn't have to hide in the loos in M&S in the end, although I was horrified to find that my boobs are now a G cup (G for Gargantuan)! GAAAAAAAH!

I love going to America (my step-dad lives there) and I'm always blown away by the options where food is concerned. You can eat out relatively cheaply and you're always spoilt for choice when it comes to the kind of food on offer. Also, I remember going to a supermarket and being absolutely amazed by the ice cream cabinets!! Not only do you get all of these fantastic different flavours, you can even get it in tubs the size of buckets!

I just want to say, though - Jessinwa & LG&T: I really feel for you both. I'd be the same in your shoes, I think. Just keep thinking ahead to the time when your other halves are due home. Until they're back, you can always come here to either let off steam of just have a good old natter!

small world, megglevache. Did you know Glenmoor school for girls? was in Bournemouth until 2 yrs ago when we moved to France. Wanted bilingual children and I prefer the education system here. Miss UK like mad though, miss the shops, certain foods, magazines and of course friends and family.
