Hello all had a go at a very naff name! Hop across!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IBelieveInPink · 27/11/2014 12:29

I've had 2 mcs, discussed my 'anxiety/stress/sleepless nights' with the midwife... No scan. So private one is booked for 11th December.

Had to do the same when I was pg with my daughter too, and it did help, so it's worth it for me.

I don't think I have a bump yet. I'm still fat carrying a little excess from the first time round.

That's interesting number3 I didn't realise that. Id better get reading about csection vs vbac so i can make a decision. Tempted to just go for a section as it seems the 'easy' option, but very aware it is stil major surgery! Urgh... Dilemma.

Thepurplegiraffe · 27/11/2014 12:37

Ibelieve I have booked an early scan for the 13th after my mc, think we might be dd buddies as well.
Re vbac vs c-section they will probably try to persuade you to have vbac as that is the cheapest option. I want to do what is best for me and the baby. Trouble is I don't know what that is.

Thepurplegiraffe · 27/11/2014 12:38

Ps can't believe they wouldn't give you a scan after 2 mcs. That seems really harsh.

ohlordyplordy · 27/11/2014 12:43

ooh some lovely announcement ideas - loving the biscuits, cupcakes and homemade card.
I think we've agreed to write a grandma and granddad Christmas card.

Wow what exciting news orange.

Leela5 · 27/11/2014 12:43

That's really harsh pink I'm sorry for your previous mcs. I would have thought they'd let you have one :(

11th isn't too far away although it feels like time drags! I've got mine next wed and im terrified. Still - positive thoughts...

I have a little bump and I've never had baby before. I must just be squishy?

Leela5 · 27/11/2014 12:44

I'm thick. What is vbac please? It's going to be something obvious isn't it!

IBelieveInPink · 27/11/2014 12:45

purple... When you find out... Let me know? Grin

IBelieveInPink · 27/11/2014 12:46

Vbac = vaginal birth after c section.
Lush.

Threeplus1 · 27/11/2014 12:48

Hey all, my goodness does this thread fly! I've finally caught up with you all but have no hope of remembering everyone's news....my brain is like mush at the moment Confused

Misseskimo I was born prem at 27 weeks and all 3 of my dcs have been a little early - DS, my first, was born 3 weeks before due date, dd1 was born 5 days before and dd2 was a week before. I've never heard of premature labour being hereditary but I'm wondering now!

Congrats orange on your double bundle of joy - fx for the smaller twin!

Lots of all day nausea here, I feel so blah. Like a pp mentioned (sorry can't remember who!) If I don't eat in time I feel even worse but then I don't want anything. I also keep getting an awful taste in my mouth, especially if I eat or drink oranges/orange juice. I almost never drink fizzy pop, but am finding that bitter lemonade and coke do help to quell the nausea a little for some temporary relief.

Am also very tired and have been going to bed before 9 most nights - it's getting very hard to hide from my older DC, who, at 11 and 10 are very perceptive and remember my last pregnancy with dd2. It prob doesn't help that I'm obsessed with OBEM Blush

Thanks for the stats spreadsheet headless and misseskimo when I get on the laptop I will update my EDD and fill in the other columns

Sorry for long post!

Romeolovesjuliet · 27/11/2014 13:12

Phew, think I've just about caught up!
Congrats on the twins orange and fingers crossed for the smaller one.
I'm very bloated too - not sure I have a bump yet but I did by 8 weeks last time and people started to guess. I really don't want anyone at work finding out early so I'm going to have to be a bit creative - think I will just have to make a point of being seen eating lots of Christmas treats!
Still feeling pretty rotten here - DH out tonight so looking forward to having the sofa to myself and then an early night.
6+1

Fleurchamp · 27/11/2014 13:26

Oh god, I think I am losing the plot.

I am currently sitting at home crying. Work has been awful this morning. My boss hasn't shown up and so I have been left to run the place and I have been shouted at several times by clients because I haven't a clue what I am doing I am so overwhelmed.

I then got in the post yet another set of forms from a different hospital (the third in my trust) and a booking appointment, a week before my other two.

I have just cried down the phone at some poor midwife. She claims she is going to sort it out for me. At this point in time I have 3 separate appointments with 3 separate midwives.

I honestly feel like I am cracking up.

Romeolovesjuliet · 27/11/2014 13:27

Oh and I'm in London and have never bothered with a badge. Early on I don't really want random people knowing and if I felt really rough I would just ask for a seat. And when I'm bigger it's obvious and, to be honest, I expect people to offer!

Romeolovesjuliet · 27/11/2014 13:28

Fleur, sorry you're having a rubbish day and hope your appointments get sorted soon.

Kilicat · 27/11/2014 13:56

Fleur hope you have a better afternoon and get the appointments sorted - it sounds confusing and annoying (just what you need in early pregnancy)

Kilicat · 27/11/2014 13:58

I've got a bit of a bump (8 weeks tomorrow) but pretty sure it's mainly bloating. I was eating quite a lot for the last few weeks but been feeling very rough this week so not eaten much and belly still seems to be expanding rapidly.

Threeplus1 · 27/11/2014 14:32

ooooh headless you now have me as a due date buddy since I got my new EDD of 11th July Smile

It's snowing again here and I am starting to worry about being able to keep my bump warm when it appears, as my new and very expensive all bells and whistles winter coat is a perfect fit for right now. There's going to be no hope of spring or warm enough temps to ditch the coat until at least April, and until then I have temps of down to -30 to look forward to.... I refuse to buy a maternity coat that I'll only need for a couple of months so am hoping that when I start telling people, some kind soul will have one I can borrow Blush

naty1 · 27/11/2014 15:08

three what about ebay for mat coat?
I just bought a coat and it was already tight though i may make it till about mar (esp as may not leave house if icy or snow) as dont think ill be too big till 20w.
Congrats orange fx for the smaller one.

NotPennysBoat · 27/11/2014 15:17

Congratulations on all the scans so far, and fx Orange for your pair!

Finally got my mw booking in appt letter today, unfortunately it's the one day in the next month (11th Dec) which I can't do! I phoned up to reschedule and the receptionist was so obstructive and unhelpful!
R: "It's really hard to change appointments, you'll probably not get one until the new year now, and this will affect your scan date."
Me: "Oh. I'll be on a plane at the time of the appointment so there's no chance I can make it. I can do any other day, I can do last minute cancellations, first thing/last thing, anything."
R: "This totally messes up the system. Oh here how about the 16th Dec".

What a miracle! Why do they have to be so horrible and awkward about it! If I didn't have to change it, I wouldn't be ringing, would I? Surely I can't be the only person who can't make the first appt they offer?? Grrr was so annoyed - imagine if it had delayed my scan? That could affect Nuchal T test timings and everything! Sometimes these receptions think they have too much power over us.

Rant over - at least I'm booked in now, and on the positive side having a better day sickness-wise too.

naty1 · 27/11/2014 15:56

notpenny i couldnt make the date mw suggested on phone as same as my ivf scan. She just offered another though that was 2 weeks later (9wks) and i am worried the scan date wont come through soon enough as itll be nye week. I called back tried to move earlier but they said there werent any (whilst also confusing me about a group meeting)
And prob cant see cons about my thyroid until after im booked in.
Makes much more sense to ask patients when they can make it. I can understand scans but mw appts when most work and wont have told work by this stage.

My booking is at next village as they can access the hospital system from there [sceptical] . So i have to get bus pg with 2 yo.

Seems like the baby boom is putting a lot of pressure on these services.

Leela5 · 27/11/2014 16:03

Pink - thanks! Would never have guessed that Grin

Just did Christmas shopping. I am broken, back is killing me!!!

fleur sorry you're having a crappy day :(

Zampa · 27/11/2014 16:09

Sorry to hear about your awful day fleur. Hope it gets better.

I find the way we get booking in appointments totally bizarre. Modern life dictates that we can't be free at any given time! Fully expect mine to be scheduled during a client meeting (or the work Christmas party!).

Zampa · 27/11/2014 16:09

And kudos to Leela for completing the Christmas shop already!

Sarkymare · 27/11/2014 16:20

Hi ladies

Just been to the loo and I have thick brown blood lining my knickers. I'm unsure of what to do as I'm 200 miles away from home! Do you think I should wait and see how this pans out? Or should I see if the hospital here could have a look at me?

LizziTea · 27/11/2014 16:27

Sarkymare, that must be really worrying for you. I phoned NHS 111 about a week ago, and although it was a bit of a saga (for example, I couldn't pick up when they rang me back because of who was in the house at the time!) I did find it really helpful, and they eventually got me speaking to a midwife over the phone, and then directed me to an out-of-hours GP nearby. The whole system worked quite smoothly. It might be a good first step, and possibly less stressful than trying to get in touch with a hospital directly in an area you don't know. Thinking of you Flowers

Sarkymare · 27/11/2014 16:31

I know the area. I lived here for 20 years ( we are visiting family)

DP is out with his mum and I'm all on my own in a blubbering mess! I know brown blood doesn't mean the worst. I've told enough ladies on here that myself. I just can't seem to take my own advice.

Will give NHS a call. Hopefully they can help
