Oh cinnamon, hopefully it will be what they think it is and shouldn't be too much of an issue. Looking on the bright side all those extra peeks and to actually know what's going on regularly, that's got to give you some piece of mind. Try to think of it like that instead of dreading it. Thinking of you and your little family. Thanks

smogsville · 26/11/2014 19:47

Thanks cinnamon. Although does that mean you have one week to get form and give it to employer if you're meant to hand it in 15 weeks before you intend to go on mat leave?!

Anyway you have bigger things on your mind im sure. It sounds like you're in the best hands with Addenbrookes not too far away and you're confident in the care you're receiving. Wishing all the best for the next scans and appointments with specialists.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/11/2014 19:51

It's also the travelling and losing money from not being able to work! The next one I can swap days for one little boy, I'll be back for school but I'll probably miss a day from one little girl. We've got a 9am appointment in Cambridge so it's going to be a nightmare with traffic! My mum will take ds1 to school and ds2 at the moment wants to come with us but will hopefully persuade him to stay with nanny. We had 35 min wait to be seen today and then 40mins in total with a very long scan and chat after and typing up everything so he'll be very bored.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/11/2014 19:52

Yes it does Smogsville, I was surprised! I'm sure it wasn't that close when I had ds1. Was self employed when I had ds2 so it's all down to me to sort.

Smogs it might be different in different areas - my GP gave me my form on exactly 20 weeks, I just rang up and they left it at reception for me. So might be worth trying?

Cinnamon I'm so sorry to hear that, but it sounds like it's something which they can resolve easily as they're keeping an eagle eye on him throughout. Thinking of you though as that all sounds stressful xxx ThanksThanksThanks

BonjourMinou · 26/11/2014 20:10

I'm sorry to hear that, Cinnamon. I'm glad they're keeping an extra close eye on him and hopefully they're right that it's something that can be resolved with antibiotics once, he's born. xx Flowers

I asked my midwife about the MatB1 a couple of weeks ago. She said that she wasn't 'supposed' to do it before the end of the 20th week, but that she could 'forget' and do it at 20week scan (I have fortnightly apps so will see midwife & consultant straight after scan).

I've also got a lot of holiday to take before mat leave starts, so I'm going on reduced hours in January, and finishing mid-Feb, don't know what I'll do with all that free time!

smogsville · 26/11/2014 20:54

Cinnamon sorry about all the extra stress that managing the kids and work is causing you. Let your mum help as much as she can and defo go with the nanny idea I can't imagine having DD at a scan it would basically mean DH not seeing anything while he stopped her running amok or asking umpteen questions and refusing to stop talking and saying why all the time. Good luck with all the arrangements.

Thanks everyone for other helpful mat b1 comments I will investigate. Also don't remember it being such a shag with DD.

On a lighter note, I haven't had another sneeze wee since this morning so hoping it was just a weird aberration as opposed to the new normal. Must fish out those panty liners nonetheless.

TinyTear · 26/11/2014 20:55

Cinnamon, glad they have a plan of action and you will see a specialist soon

Lauren82000 · 26/11/2014 20:59

Smogs have you not been wearing them all along? I have used them all along but for the gushes of dc (sorry tmi) I'd soak through my knickers and my pants in an hour without them! Confused

BonjourMinou · 26/11/2014 21:21

smogs you must have inspired my bladder, I sneezed a wee out earlier, but after you posted that comment. Hmm It is therefore your fault and not that of my crap pelvic floor Wink kegel, kegel, kegel...

smogsville · 26/11/2014 21:52

My humble and sincere apols Bonjour! I never bothered w any pelvic floor exercises as I knew I was having a section which I know is dreadful and lazy and wrong and I will lie to the midwives again this time about how often I'm (not) doing them.

Lauren - nope, didn't with DD either. My other technique is to sort of tense up or discreetly semi cross my legs before I sneeze but that only works with enough warning and forethought.

daholster · 26/11/2014 22:02

Thinking of you cinnamon Flowers

londonlivvy · 26/11/2014 22:46

oh cinnamon, I'm sorry to hear that. Sounds like they have all the top folk on the case though. Definitely agree re not taking older kids to scans if you can possibly avoid it. Way too distracting.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/11/2014 08:36

We took both boys to 12 and 20wk scans with no probs. I just don't want him to feel pushed out to my mums because they new baby is more important iyswim before he's even here!

I'm sorry to hear your latest news cinnamon but it does sound like you are both going to be looked after really well Flowers

FreedomHuntress · 27/11/2014 11:07

Hope you are feeling ok, cinnamon - sounds like they know what they are doing.

RiverRocks · 27/11/2014 11:20

Sending lots of positive thoughts your way, cinnamon.

After a good few weeks of much better sleep, I was awake at 4.30am again this morning! Argh. Tried to snuggle up to DH; he gave me a hug and then sleepily rolled away, whacking me in the face in the process!

Am definitely noticing I need to wee more now, particularly when I've been in the car, but touching every wooden item I can possibly find I haven't accidentally wet myself yet! Xmas Grin

I am also feeling movements every day, and when I was laid in the bath the other day I think I saw my tummy move as well. He's a proper little fidget, and doesn't like anything pressing into my tummy - if I lean against the desk or rest anything on my bump, I can feel him moving against it.

Think I'm going to persuade DH we need to go for another scan in the New Year.

FizzyBubbly · 27/11/2014 11:31

Thinking of you Cinnamon, sounds like you and your little boy are in good hands

Hope your DH hasn't given you a black eye River?!

After spending all day yesterday throwing up I've finally stopped so must have just been a 24hr thing. Am now really breathless and my heart races at the slightest exertion so my parents who are helping me out today have made me call the doctors. I'm sure it'll be a waste of time and I'll be told to rest up but I don't have the energy to argue with them. Plus I know how worrisome it is when DD's poorly so I'll let them off!

londonlivvy · 27/11/2014 12:19

I'm like squatting, cinnamon, and just told dd it would be really boring with lots of waiting and instead Xxx (her babysitter) would be coming to play with her and do lots of duplo etc. wasn't she a lucky girl to have special playtime etc. she seemed to go for it. perhaps also cos babysitter is young and enthusiastic and more dynamic than mummy at the moment!!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 27/11/2014 12:37

I'm sneeze-peeing... Hope to only need to change clothes once today, though!

Cinnamon, hope things go well and you have loads of support.

My 2 year old came to my scan due to necessity. The 4 year old will be coming to my private scan too, it will make it more real for him.

hiding the fear if you're sure, I'd be very grateful and will pay postage costs if you give me your PayPal details (actually, my partner will). I'll pm you when I'm on a computer instead of my phone. Thank you

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 27/11/2014 12:40

Is anyone else choosing names yet? I am, giving a few days trial to see which one feels right.
