DD got to cuddle my friends new born today, her face lit up. Cannot wait until our baby is here for her to love! She's got so much love to give and is so excited!
Pram is being delivered tomorrow, I feel like it's Xmas eve!

Memphisbelly · 28/10/2014 19:03

Longbottom aaah your DD sounds like my DS he has so much love to givecthis baby he looks at me in a totally different way now I have a bump like a proud dad or something! I admit I am a bit concerned about how he will be with others holding the baby, he will be fine with him, dh and myself but I am unsure if he will let people hold 'his baby brother' Grin

Frenetic really hope your day improved. Sounds shocking what you put up with there.

Roll on tomorrow when I go docs, I need something more than gaviscon for heartburn im dying on my arse here at might time. Apart from docs tomorrow I have a day in the house to tidy and get stuff sorted around here

Grinningcat · 28/10/2014 20:29

I think I'm getting Braxton Hicks too at 23 weeks +3. I kept blaming baby for periodically making my lower stomach go hard, making me feel uncomfortable and making me feel the need to pee. I thought maybe it was just sitting low and sticking it's bump out. After the mention of Braxton Hicks above, I thought I better Google when they start as I thought it wasn't until much later on. I now realise that this is what I must be experiencing. I've had an afternoon of them to consider!

tonightsthekindofnight · 28/10/2014 20:39

Hi everyone, sorry it's been so long again- gosh this thread moves quickly! I'm about 26 weeks now which means only ten to go, seems to be flying by too! Have made some good progress with getting organised, our triple pushchair arrived this week and the nursery is just about looking like a room- was back to the bricks and joists a fortnight ago! The pushchair looks like something from the future, it's Polish made as there were no British options for twins plus toddler! Cant wait to try it out!

Twins are still growing well as is my bump which now measures 36 weeks! I'm quite tall and lanky to start with and am starting to look ridiculous! I love shocking people with my due date as I look ready to pop! My midwife has advised me to pack hospital bag etc as so many twins come early, am trying not to worry and hope they stay put as long as possible. Everyone keeps telling me to rest but that is easier said than done with work and two small kids. Got a presentation coming up at a large national conference which I'm desperately trying not to stress over!

Hope everyone is taking it easy and not suffering too much!

longbottom · 28/10/2014 20:57

Ah Memphis, that is exactly how DD looks at me. She refers to the baby as our baby, it melts my heart! We don't know the sex, so she has nicknamed the baby Marshmallow!

Tonight's, you sound really well, how exciting for the push chair!! Hope those babies continue cooking nicely.

Memphisbelly · 28/10/2014 22:37

Tonightsthe oooh what does pushchair look like? Sounds like you are cracking on with things, have they said how long they expect the babies to stay in hospital once born if they stsy in until thr induce you?

Long ah it is so sweet isn't it, ds is very sweet with everyones babies it will be amazing to see him with 'our baby' as he calls it. He has picked most things we have bought (we narrowed it down to a few thimgs and he decided on final one)

Viperama · 29/10/2014 00:04

Hi things I'm still hanging in there! thanks for asking Smile we've had wardrobe installers who are rather crap in since Monday so I've been occupied with that.
Glad to hear you are better.

I also got some amazing news from someone very dear to me tonight, she's 46 and just found out she's 10 weeks pregnant. How amazing is that! No kids, thought she'd missed the boat entirely. Amazing

HerRoyalNotness · 29/10/2014 03:12

Hi all, unexpectedly our girl, India Willow arrived this am by CS (23+4) she is 1lb 3oz and is intubated in the niCu, we
Couldn't hold out any longer. My placenta was not good when they saw it and couldn't have supported her much longer. We are both doing well at the moment and have a hard road ahead with our baby, but keeping optimistic.

I'll start a new thread in preemies when I'm up to it.
I wish you all the very best with your little ones xx

I put a pic on the FB page of India and will update here and there in that as to progress

MIL arrives tomorrow and a friend who has been through this will come for a few weeks when I leave hospital to get us through some recovery.

Congratulations Royal! My friend has had 3 very premature babies, her oldest was born at 24 +3 and he is a healthy happy 8 year old now! I should say he didn't get the steroid injections too, so it was tough at times but he came home on his due date. Little miracle babies! Xx

BanglesSpangles · 29/10/2014 09:13

Bimberley · 29/10/2014 09:20

Sending love to India Willow. What a lovely name!
Look after yourself.

X

hanflan · 29/10/2014 09:23

donkir - done!

Minichuch · 29/10/2014 09:28

Congrats royal - wow I'm not even that far along yet - it seems weird to think that there is an actual person nearly that size inside me at present - hope all goes well

On more mundane issues, anyone know the legalities if you want to resign whilst on maternity leave? Proper cheesed off with work and just don't see where ill fit back in when return so wonder whether this would be a good opportunity for a change of job - ive been with my current company for 11.5 years!!!

LancashireTea · 29/10/2014 09:30

Congrats herroyal and you have chosen a very pretty name. X

hanflan · 29/10/2014 09:33

minichuch I don't know if it varies from place to place, but at our work if you don't return for at least three months after your mat leave you would have to pay back any occupational maternity leave you were given. You should still be entitled to the statutory part of it though. Sorry to hear they are being crap!
