Lovely to hear you are doing well Royal

I can really empathise on the missing out on family things. My sister is here for a month and I can't go out with her and do stuff, it's gutting. I just send her places I think she'll enjoy and she reports back

My mom and brother get here on Thursday and I'd planned afternoon tea in Mayfair. I haven't cancelled yet. I'm seriously considering going, it'll be 15 in a taxi, then straight to table, then taxi home. Surely as a one off that's okay? Think I might call my consultant to check as I'm getting guilts just thinking about it.

Viperama · 26/10/2014 14:32

Ps thanks for feedback on the xplory Royal

Viperama · 26/10/2014 14:39

Tmi alert I didn't have my daily raw veg in the afternoon yesterday and ended up not having my evening bm, when I changed for bed I had loads of blood - from the rear entrance. No pain felt at all.
Experienced moms - am I right in thinking this is just going to get worse as baby gets bigger? 25 weeks today, I'm going to have to invest in some dark coloured knickers!

HerRoyalNotness · 26/10/2014 14:51

I think your outing should be ok, if you stand feeling wobbly you could cut it short.

I'd ask about the blood from rear end, I haven't had that before.

bagofsnakes · 26/10/2014 14:52

Oh, Viper poor you! You know, I didn't ever experience that and I wonder if it wouldn't be worth telling your HCP tomorrow. I certainly had problems with piles and (horror of all horrors!) an anal fissure after my DS, but they come with pain and the blood is only when you pass a stool.

Her Royal - enjoy family time and make sure they don't forget your treats Smile

JacktheLab · 26/10/2014 14:54

Hello all,

recovering from the birthday party yesterday!!!

Memphis feel better soon!

Viper, you shouldnt be bleeding! Might be piles, but could be worth checking out, have you been constipated?

Royal glad to hear you are getting better and hope you have a lovely visit and the doctor does let you out for a couple of hours ;)

Memphisbelly · 26/10/2014 18:07

I had a bath in the dark, painkillers (that they said not to take) and now my head has subsided a bit so im a bit more easy to be in thr house with.

Went for a 3d scan it was lovely, he stuck his tongue out, opened his eyes and was aying with his cord while trying to headbutt the placenta. He has his big brothers lips and nose but very fat cheeks! Grin

freneticfox · 26/10/2014 18:21

Memphis - I'm still on the fence about 3D/4D scans.. I kind of want one, but at the same time I don't want to know TOO much what he looks like... we found out the sex, so feels like I want one surprise at least? Then again others have said that a newborn often pops out looking quite different!

DH is fairly 'whatever' about it, so I think it's going to be me in the driving seat making this decision.

Viper - get it checked out to be on the safe side. About this time last year I started having bleeding after BMs, and a flexi sig (like a colonoscopy but less invasive) they found an internal haemorrhoid. Seems to be REALLY common with piles, worth mentioning it to MW/GP :)

Got a very fidgety little baby tonight. Growth spurt?!

Glad to hear you are feeling a little better now memphis.

I spent last night in hospital on a drip after an awful bout of D&V left me severely dehydrated. I had a lot of bump pain too so got a bit worried about creature for a while but she has been checked over now and is fine. I'm back home now trying to drink as much fluids as I can keep down and doing as little as possible. Feels a bit unfair that tomorrow is my first day off for half term and I wouldn't be going in to work even if it wasn't holidays.

With regards to slings, we have the ergo baby. We got it when DS was 1 and it was great. We are getting the newborn inserts soon so we can use it with DD when she arrives but can't comment on how good it is for a newborn. It is quite pricey though. Our friends have a cheap rip off brand that they are quite happy with too.

Viper I'd definitely get that checked out. Could easily be nothing, just bleeding from piles etc, but you want to make sure. I also second getting the consultant ok for your trip out. You'll enjoy it more knowing that thought you were doing the right thing too!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 26/10/2014 19:07

Ive been at hospital as well today but not for me luckily for OH he has cracked two ribs ... Don't have too much sympathy though as he was dancing on a table and fell off! Yes there was alcohol involved!! Has made me sway towards birth centre though as I forgot how much I dislike hospitals!!

Memphisbelly · 26/10/2014 19:33

Thingsare hope you are feeling better now how scary for you.

Littlemiss when we can't drink makes you have no sympathy doesn't it? Dh is out for a big night in Dec, I have told him he can stay at his dads Grin

Viperama · 26/10/2014 19:39

Things poor you, do you have a stomach bug?

I called midwife, who said I should prob get bleeding checked out. I have IBS which I control through diet, and had an anal fissure repaired maybe 11 years ago. I'd a colposcopy in November 2013 and everything looked good. It could also be shoving progesterone capsule up my butt nightly. Oh the glamour. But any one of these things + weight of baby could result in this bleeding.

I've an appointment with my consultant for Wednesday, that I was meant to cancel but thought I'd wait till tomorrow to cancel in case anything came up as I'm not seeing her for 4 weeks which seems an awful long time - so agreed with midwife I'd get consultant to check out. And I can ask her about my little day trip at the same time.

We've settled on the AmaWrap sling. Mumsnet has impartial reviews on all products baby, I've generally been using this as my guide. Dare I say it I think my 'lists' are all done. I should contract out my services while I'm on this bedrest lark!
Builders return tomorrow to continue installing super duper wardrobe in bubbas room, I cannot wait!

Sorry for giant mememe post

sandulacek · 26/10/2014 19:43

things hope you are feeling better. It was absolutely horrible when I vomited before, my whole bump was moving...and that was only a little bit at 18 weeks Thanks

Bangonthedoor · 27/10/2014 06:39

Morning Smile

Sorry to hear you've been poorly things I hope you'll get the chance for some rest?

memphis there must be something they can do for you. I hate how some health professionals are so dismissive.

It seems everyone's not feeling their best Sad

I'm unsure about a sling, I'd love to use one but I'm worried about tying them. I have no patience with those type of things and will take one look at the instructions and put it down! Is there one that's kind of already tied?

I'm also on the look out for a bouncy chair. The one we had with DD played music, had a vibration setting and an actual rocking/bouncing setting. It broke so we are having to get a new one but all the ones I can find only have vibration settings. Does anyone have any tips? We used the bouncing setting much more last time!

donkir · 27/10/2014 07:41

Bang have you thought of getting 2nd hand? Gumtree had quite a good selection. I managed to get a gorgeous mamas and papas one for £10 off a local Facebook selling site.

Bangonthedoor · 27/10/2014 07:52

I'll definitely be keeping my eye out donkir I don't mind second hand at all!

freneticfox · 27/10/2014 08:23

It's going to be a very long week for me; it's my work/pay assessment week that will set my rate of maternity pay so I really need to make it through the whole week full time.

I may collapse by Friday!

Good luck frenetic. Remember lots of snacks to keep your energy up.

blankfornames · 27/10/2014 09:10

This thread is a fast mover! I wonder how many threads we'll get through before our babies arrive!
Sorry.some of you are experiencing adverse effects. Frenetic, best of luck for the review!

longbottom · 27/10/2014 09:28

I'm looking at changing bags today, what's everyone else getting?
I'm thinking a cath kidston one from eBay, I would like a navy blue spot one!

Minichuch · 27/10/2014 10:02

Ooh longbottom one of my favourite topics is changing bags - I love handbags and dread to think how many I own - I seem to be navigating towards the really expensive ones - storksak and pitterpac - they look like normal oversize handbags which I really like - we've ordered a silver cross plain black one to match our travel system for dh and others to use but I want one that is just for me - dh did suggest yest that I use the silver cross one and he will just buy me a new handbag so may go that route

Really must remember to make proper sentences and not type how I think in my head

PeppermintInfusion · 27/10/2014 10:05

I've been looking at bags too, but so indecisive!

Memphisbelly · 27/10/2014 10:39

I like the brown leather look Koto one in Jojo we have an icandy one if dh doesn't want a handbag looking one I would like a Cath Kidson cowboy print one too but may settle for someone making a small one in that fabric as we really liked having what we called an sos bag for just nipping out for an hour (bottle, nappy and mini pack of wipes) came in handy a few times last time....one being a pop out that lasted 2 hours as I broke down

Bangonthedoor · 27/10/2014 10:50

I'm using a freebie one from verbaudet. It's quite small but I'm going to try and make it work just because it was free! If I really struggle I will find another one but hope I don't! Last time I used a cath kidston one (second hand) and I was really happy with it. Ruined it though so had to chuck it Hmm
