This baby brain thing is getting really annoying now. I drove 15 minutes to the supermarket this afternoon. At 1550 I was in the checkout queue and realised I didn't have my wallet. Sad As there was no chance of getting a wallet in time I had to abandon the whole weeks shopping, I almost burst into tears on the spot due to my stupidity, the utter waste of time etc.. I may have to indulge in some B&J's ice cream to try feel better.

Memphisbelly · 28/09/2014 19:08

Bangles that sounds like a good weekends haul!

Geeky oh no how utterly annoying! I hate doing the big food shop so to have to do it again would probably make me cry!

suzimagoozi · 28/09/2014 19:24

My sympathies Geeky! I was filling out official paperwork to support a friend's visa and completely forgot my postcode the other day. Just could not remember it for the life of me and when asked DH what the last half was he informed me I'd got the first part wrong as well. Form duly reprinted...

Grinningcat · 28/09/2014 20:45

Well we have taken the big step off buying the buggy. Well FIL actually paid by beating DH to the till! Grin. Makes everything seem really really real. We went for the icandy raspberry which was the one that had caught. Y eye online. We went to an independent place A3babybarn in Surbiton to check it out in RL and look at others. Turns out they'd had a delivery the day before and were having an icandy promo weekend. It lived up to expectations and was £100 off with all the accessories we wanted and we got to take it away with us rather than ordering it. Very pleased. Staff were very knowledgable about everything and we had a really good experience. Also got a changing mag and MIL got a sleep suit and the cutest blanket.

Bump really starting to be more obvious now, only 19 weeks so is this the baby rising above my belly button? Was day dreaming earlier in the bath about what I would do/not do in my first week of maternity leave.

Memphisbelly · 28/09/2014 20:51

Yes grinning it is around now the bump goes up. 23 weeks here on Tuesday and bump had moved up but only felt kicks as high as the belly button, he clearly doesn't stretch out yet and still likes to burrow into my bladder.Grin Great buy on the pushchair...what a deal! I found a Silvercross Pioneer the otherday amd really loved it but I aleady have my pushchair so will just have to stroke it when I go in baby shop!

blankfornames · 28/09/2014 21:52

Ladies, have had this pain on my lower right side most of today. Bean has active so know it's nothing to worry about but it gets quite bad at times. I did go to the toilet but didn't help. Can round ligament pain be constant or does it come and go? Any ideas anyone?!

Bangonthedoor · 28/09/2014 22:09

It could just be ligament pain blanks it can be most annoying!
If you press down on the area, does the pain go away then come back if you take your hand away?

jenmcspen · 28/09/2014 22:12

Blank I had a sharp stabbing pain a week ago unlike any stretchy pain I'd had, and it wasn't getting any better with time. Called midwife who had me go to the hospital for a reassurance check.
Made me feel much better to hear heartbeat and they were fab. Apparently baby is very low which may cause me a few weird pains/problems!
If u feel in any way unsure/worried, I would call ur midwife. I was worried I was making a fuss but they told me they would much rather check u if u have any concerns at all.

blankfornames · 28/09/2014 22:19

Bangs, yes, when I press on it, it does relieve it.
Jen, I can sometimes feel baby kicking nearly into my groin at times and for almost 20 wks, I'm still carrying very low. Thanks for the advice and hopefully it'll be gone in the morning!

Ticktick · 28/09/2014 22:32

That sounds like the pain I've been getting. It's usually right hand side, I put my hand there to feel if its baby but it goes away and only comes back when I remove my hand. Very annoying. Bump is just reaching belly button now hopefully baby will move higher up soon.

Bangonthedoor · 28/09/2014 22:41

Well I know that your appendix is on the right side and a sign of an appendix problem is when the pain eases with pressure then shoots back when pressure is lifted. Having said that I think the pain would be quite severe if it was a problem with your appendix!

It's bowel related pain which tends to be on the left such as ibs or constipation which I am very familiar with! Blush

Memphisbelly · 28/09/2014 22:42

Blanks hope it eases overnight, i cannot believe how low this baby is still by night time it is really quite sore.

I am the queen of notebooks and I have just wrote a new baby list inc thinks I need to make like bunting and blind for his room and I also want to dye his car seat covers to give it a new feel again.

Also a list including every little thing I will need inc a phone charger to leave in my hospital bag and nearer the time cereal bars and meal relacement type shake that has long date in (just before I had an epidural I was in too much pain to eat and didn't realise you cannot eat once they give you it so my plan is to try and drink one to fill me up)
Also saw in mothercare a feeding pillow which can also be used to prop baby, used for tummy time then support when they learn to sit, thought it would be good to help ds hold his brother as he is still so small himself. In mothercare they were on offer for £25 thinking I could get cheaper elsewhere I left it.....they are £39 in Argos! Shock.... Goodness me my life is exciting Grin

Bangonthedoor · 29/09/2014 11:09

Morning all.

Just got back from shopping in town, still no maternity bras to be found! Think I could cry! M&S couldn't help me and neither could mother care Sad there's bugger all for big chested pregnant women!! DD fell asleep in the car on the way home so ran inside and made a cup of tea and now sitting in the car having some peace and quiet, stuffing my face with mini cheddars!

donkir · 29/09/2014 11:19

Bang I'm also struggling with bras. I've found a non wired one in triumph but can't seem to find any proper maternity bras in a 34E all Es seem to be wider backs.

BanglesSpangles · 29/09/2014 11:20

Morning all
Think the baby must've got a leg stuck in the air last night or something- was cleaning my teeth and all of a sudden i just couldn't stand up straight- felt like I had gotten a massive stitch just below my ribs. Went away pretty quickly, so I guess it's par the course with all this baby-growing!

Memphis- I heart lists. I might buy a new notebook just for baby-related list making Grin

Bang- I am led to believe that mothercare has served people well in the bra department (I wouldnt know being equally as small-chested as I always have been- most unfair!)

Bimberley · 29/09/2014 11:34

Hi all!
So good to hear all the scan news!
So many boys! :)
22+4 here now, and he has gone right up! Can feel kicks just below my ribs.
DD is now a full time school, and DS starts nursery two days a week on the 27th! Very much looking forward to a couple of days rest!

Think we have decided on a name now, although we are keeping it a secret for now.

Have my consultant appointment on Thursday. Hopefully can suggest something to help the awful pain in my pelvis.

On my fourth UTI as well!

Finding it so hard to sleep now. I keep waking trying to roll on my belly and have to stop myself. I've also started waking at around 5! Not liking that!
Have a good day ladies

BanglesSpangles · 29/09/2014 12:34

Bimberley- Im sure i must be rolling onto my front too! I always get a dead arm if I sleep properly on my side- woke up this morning and had had a brilliant night's sleep, with no dead arm, but mega trapped wind- wonder if i might have squashed the baby into something gas-related?!

Poor old baby- hope he's ok in there, with his errant mother laying on top of him!

Oh also lovely ladies, ive started adding boys, girls and abstentions to the spreadsheet, so if ive missed anyone who either know what they're having or has decided not to find out and wants to be added in, let me know! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1moEjI8_LsAH1NnaqDmOt2SMLZkovo8AuRbHNN_1gRwU/edit?usp=sharing

freneticfox · 29/09/2014 13:00

Afternoon all!

I'm not sleeping well, but mainly because I have to pee about four times a night at the moment, not imagining it'll get better any time soon either.

I'm definitely feeling movement now, I feel a lot more confident about identifying the flutters as baby ever since the sonographer said that he was very active.

DH also felt something for the first time last night at 20+1! I was feeling loads of fluttering while watching a film, so DH put his hand on my belly and started chatting away. About 10 minutes later, I felt a strong kick, and DH jumped, saying "was that something?!!" - was incredible to see him so excited by it :)

I want more kicks now..

Great news about all the scan results that are coming in now. We're more than halfway through, yay! Everyone sounds very organised with shopping and lists...makes me wonder if I need to pull my finger out as i've done nothing at all.
In the last week the baby's kicks have become a lot more hefty - last night they were making me feel a little bit sick (I remember feeling this with my last pg but not this early!). Anyone else feeling like a punchbag already?

Surf25 · 29/09/2014 13:59

Hello all...so exciting that people are feeling more movements Smile I can feel flutterings but never felt the previous two early and had anterior placentas so not too worried. But looking forward to when dh can feel it! Can't wait for scan next week. Was sick in the petrol station on the way to work this morning, out of the blue, how embarrassing! Blush made it through the morning and only working a half day so having some chill out time before getting dd1 from school and dd2 from nursery.

Am similar with sleep at the moment, waking loads to pee as well frenetic and trying to sleep on my belly bimberley

Thanks for the stats update bangles my edd is 20 Feb at the moment so you can add me to that date if you have a chance! Thanks!

Hope everyone else is having a good day

BanglesSpangles · 29/09/2014 14:49

all done surf- hope you're feeling better after your petrol station puke :)

Memphisbelly · 29/09/2014 16:05

Bimberley even a secret on the name front from us fellow mnfeb buddies?Wink

Frenetic its fsb isn't it because now your dh has felt kicks it will all be more real for him!

Its so muggy today I am sweating loads (I never normally sweat) went for lovely lunch with my mum and re planted all of my hanging baskets and pots with winter plants.

I also went to tk maxx and they had one of those feeding pillows I wanted for £20 my grandad has been giving me £20 every week to spend on baby stuff but it was only is pink!

Forgot to say about my baby brain moment last week at work I was serving this lovely old man and he had a bit of an afro and out of nowhere I stroked my fingers through it! I dont know what came over me and he looked a bit stunned and laughed I was mortified and here I am kicking off that people touch my bump Blush

Bangonthedoor · 29/09/2014 16:23

Haha that's so funny memphis re the hair stroking!! GrinGrinGrin

BanglesSpangles · 29/09/2014 16:29

Frenetic- jealous! Baby bangles refuses to do anything if you're looking for it- i get a little flutter or kick, put a hand on my stomach to see if i can feel anything from the outside, nothing. Hand away, he kicks again. The ratbag is merking me already!

Memphis- Bahahah- Excellent work on the crossing personal space boundaries :D

So what are everyone's thoughts on names- for the non-first-timers, what did you do before? Make a decision and tell people in advance? Ask for opinions? I was thinking of keeping it to ourselves in case anyone took against what we'd chosen, but I think once I've decided, my mouth won't be able to stay shut!

Memphisbelly · 29/09/2014 16:44

In my defence I have a 'thing' for morgan freeman and was all dreamy about him while this bloke spoke haha.

With baby names with ds we had a looong list of boys names and over the course of the 9 months fell in and out of love with certain names then when in labour I had 3 names we both liked and decided which one he looked like.
I like a wide range of names from amos, donovan, zephyr and dh likes todd, bradley and travis.....I don't like his and he doesn't like mine so we are stuck Grin what ever we pick dh's mum will hate, we won't tell people in RL our choices apart from throwing ideas around with mates
