OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsDinoRawr · 28/09/2014 12:32

Haha that's the joy of being induced early I didnt have the annoying has the baby arrived yet calls. We haven't told many people we are in hospital either.

Found it hard to sleep on the ward and got woken to have my blood pressure taken twice. Had some period type pains overnight.

Looks like they might have progressed to early contractions this morning. Have my tens machine on. I would highly recommend hiring one!!! It feels lovely. Such a distraction. But I am only at period type pains so who knows whether it will work when they really kick in.

Found out we are allowed visitors all day on induction ward so my mum and sister have been up to visit.

Hope everyone is having a good day today.

Pregnantagain7 · 28/09/2014 13:06

Ooh that sounds like a good sign mrsdino hopefully it will open things up enough to get in a break you're waters. My contractions from the pessary weren't that strong with my first induction and they still got me to 2cms dilated hopefully the same for you.

Had a very sleepy day today only just got dressed and showered think we are all heading out for Sunday lunch later if my back will handle it am hobbling like and old lady now nothing I do seems to make it better!

mum2kiss · 28/09/2014 13:13

I'm hobbling too pregnant....very annoying!

SweetPeaPods · 28/09/2014 13:26

Dino that's good you are allowed visitors.
I tried calling my MiL this morning. Went to soft play with ds and came out to 12 missed calls on my mobile. I phoned her back and she started having a go at me for not answering my phone! I had told her I was at soft play too. I'm really not looking forward to her looking after ds when I'm in labour. Almost to the point I would rather labour alone and let DH look after ds but DH would never allow it.

mum2kiss · 28/09/2014 13:37

I don't envy you having mil "support" sweet pea . How would calling someone 12 times ever be useful, regardless of the situation!

Dp is cutting the grass a final time before winter sets in and I'm supposed to be sorting out the kitchen which is a disaster! He just came in and caught me lying in bed lol! Oh dear better go and break a sweat to keep him happy!

Kirstipops · 28/09/2014 13:45

Finally filled out very a loose "birth plan" in my notes, writing is a disgrace due to numb CTS-riddled hands, I'm gonna have to have DH translate Blush.
That's great Dino that you can have visitors on induction word, I'd feel so much better with my mum and sister there too, sending oxytociny thoughts!
Good grief Sweetpea @ TWELVE missed calls!

YellowWellies · 28/09/2014 14:46

Eeeeeek that's us away home! Confused

SweetPeaPods · 28/09/2014 14:56

Yellow yeah to your own bed!!

ohthegoats · 28/09/2014 14:58

I'm walking alright until I get a massive squeeze of the bladder - at least that's what it feels like - makes everything go tight, at which point I end up doubled over. Gives everyone around me a bit of a fright.

I am DESPERATE to walk up a hill... I've been planning walks for the rest of maternity leave today. Got a book on walks around this area, going to do them all in turn. Nice pub walks and things - some are alright for carriers, some for pushchairs. Luckily at least two of the NCT women are walky types, so I'll have someone to do some of them with. Think that's a cheap and healthy way to fill my time once the kid and I have got used to each other.

The 'is it here yet' calls and texts and FB messages have started. Yes, it is... I just decided to keep the biggest thing ever to happen in my life a big 'ol secret. Grr.

YellowWellies · 28/09/2014 15:02

Goats that's a fab idea. I'm looking forward to walking the dog on the beach. Though slightly Confused daunted by the prospect of taking two kids everywhere with me. Shock

kittyvet · 28/09/2014 15:40

Walking is the way forward! Just done 1 hour circuit round our village to assess it for pushchairability! If nothing else it's worked off the 2 pieces of cake I've had today :)
Congrats Yellow on your discharge!

porcito · 28/09/2014 15:42

Haha to the lady garden preparations. My MIL stayed in the room for my c section prep so gormt to watch the entire lengthy shaving process. Just what you want!

Good link celly! I used it last week after the third cousin sent me a Facebook asking. No more questions! like goats said, do people just think we'd forget to mention it?!

Hope everyone's having a good, pain free Sunday (yeah right!)

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 15:45

Yay for Yellow and getting to sleep in your own bed Grin

I cannot wait to get walking again, need to order a sling but dh has stopped me from ordering things online this weekend because of the security alert thing that's happening.

In trying not to symptom spot but failing news (tmi alert) ... Think I've lost some plug. It's kind of dark coloured and sticky. All these things happening, I bet I still end up going over my due date!

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 15:47

OMG Portico I'd have lost the plot with her if my mil did that! I'm sure mine would have something to say about what I do/don't do down there Hmm

cabster · 28/09/2014 15:51

Lovely DH! Having braved Ikea with a toddler and a stinking cold he's taken her to the park so mummy can watch QVC have a nap.

Ikea's worth driving out of your way for if you need to change your baby - there's a cubicle with both a changing table and a toilet in it, in addition to the separate baby change room, plus a screened off breastfeeding corner in the restaurant if you want privacy. They could do with more parent and child parking spaces, but so could most stores!

Got some lovely soft hooded towels for DD and definitely going back closer to Xmas for the orange swivel chair and the balance beam and crash mat, she'll love them!
