Induction is slow and boring. So far had lots of monitoring. They have given me the propess pessary which took 3 attempts to put in as it came out each time she pulled her fingers out. The string hanging out feels horrible and gets wet when I go to the loo (tmi sorry). They will reassess at 5pm tom whether it has worked enough to break my waters x

YellowWellies · 27/09/2014 20:14

Captain yes laughter makes me think I'm about to pop my stitches!

Shirehobbit · 27/09/2014 20:24

Personally, pregnantagain I'd leave it. If it's not gushing, or even trickling, there'll be loads of amniotic fluid keeping baby safe and I would rather chill out at home overnight, than go in for monitoring - if things kick off, you'll know about it (!) and if you leak more overnight with no labour starting, you can go in tomorrow and tell them it started 12-15hrs earlier.

But that just might be me - I like home and my bed, a lot!

Pregnantagain7 · 27/09/2014 20:31

Thanks binky and shire I did call but I don't think I need to go in the midwife said put a pad on for an hour an see but I think maybe I just wet myself a bit! Blush
I need to call back in an hour but I'm leaning towards getting an early night. Me and dp not speaking had a big row and I just want to go to bed to be honest :(

Good luck mrsdino hopefully the pessary does the trick it did with both my inductions they had no probs getting in to break my waters.

Shirehobbit · 27/09/2014 20:36

Sorry about the row Sad

Hope you get some rest xx

ohthegoats · 27/09/2014 21:04

Oh I'm here, nothing happening. Well, LOADS happening, but not baby related. We finally got the bathroom sorted - painted, new skirting boards, cleaned, all bathroom stuff put back in, new bathmats and plants and stuff. Took all day because I'm so blinkin' slow walking anywhere in Homebase or Dunelm! Just a few bits to finish tomorrow for us, then some plumber type coming on Tuesday to attach the towel rail and shower valve (which we can't do), and blind coming Monday. It's a veritable thrill ride.

It did take me having a bit of a 'LOOOOOK at some point in the next two weeks I'm going to want to be in here bleeding and in pain, I want it to be nice.. help me' type moment though. But he did leap into action, so... all good. I can do wallowing in the bath in labour in there now! And things like pads and creams and wipes and nice smelling things are in the cupboard ready for afterwards.

Bump still massively high, baby still going nuts pretty much the whole time... but I slept last night, so don't hate the whole thing today. Tomorrow might be different... will be 40 weeks dead on.

Good luck Dino, and let's hope that some of this leakage and contracting bump stuff leads others somewhere. I'm not even symptom spotting anymore, just going to get on with my days until the bump drops a bit.

Lulu298 · 27/09/2014 21:15

Congratulations buggerlugs! Hope you're both doing well.

binkybunny · 27/09/2014 21:26

Congratulations buggerlugs !

mrsb87 · 27/09/2014 21:28

Great news buggerlugs! Congratulations x

ohthegoats · 27/09/2014 21:35

Congratulations Buggerlugs, well done! Hope all is going smoothly.

I have a stinker of a cold - there is no way I could 'breathe through the nose and out the mouth' in a contraction situation today. I need a week to get over it before I can contemplate doing labour.

fedupofrainydays · 27/09/2014 21:47

Congrats bugs! Well done you!

Missus2ndwife · 27/09/2014 21:50

Well done Buggerlugs!! Congrats on your little girl's arrival.

It's SD's birthday. I'm having a half glass of champagne. Hubbie just toasted me to a smooth labour and a healthy start to our baby's arrival. I nearly cried.

YellowWellies · 27/09/2014 22:00

Buggerlugs awwww well done!

Me23 · 27/09/2014 22:01

Congratulations buggerlugs Smile

sazzlehopes · 27/09/2014 22:12

Yay congrats bugs

pregnant I've had a similar maybe waters moment today but really not much so if no more overnight I'm not going to panic. All this symptom spotting reminds me if the early days if ttc and seeing whether I was pregnant or not! It's funny to be doing similar the other end!

I had the moment today in te supermarket when some random came up to me and said "oooh when you due" and I could say TODAY! Ha! Why do people always look like you might give birth on them then and there??!! Hmm

Congratulations Bugs!!! Welcome to your little girl!

FlipFantasia · 27/09/2014 22:36

Buggerlugs huge congrats! Great news!

Am knackered. Just back from a very long day out. Which included a tour of the maternity hospital (very swanky after my experience in London!). But also a trip to an urgent care place for DS as he fell off a swing yesterday (which I was pushing Hmm) and turns out his finger is broken. I feel so bad Hmm. But after a healthy dose of chocolate cake we had a lovely afternoon of apple picking at an orchard (autumn in New Jersey is gorgeous!).

Sorry for multiple posts! Stupid phone Grin

BadgerInBury · 27/09/2014 22:43

Congrats buggerlugs! Super happy for you :)

Totally sympathise with those cancelling plans - seems like every friend we have is determined to "have a proper catch up before the baby comes". Which is, of course, lovely but rather exhausting, particularly when LO is due in a week's time and half our friends live out of town so aren't just popping in for a cuppa!

MrsDinoRawr · 27/09/2014 22:48

Congratulations buggerlugs. So many babies arriving :)

Nothing much to report here. Husband has gone home (I cried). Had diarrea (tmi) have little bit of back ache and had some tightenings as midwife called them (feel like regular old braxton hicks to me). Don't feel like anything is going to happen soon so I am going to try to get some sleep.

Head is all over place so have read thread but can't remember what is happening I who! Sorry x

cabster · 27/09/2014 23:13

Good luck MrsDino! Hope you get some rest tonight
