Congrats buggerlugs (and any other new arrivals I've missed!)

I've been AWOL after being discharged on Thursday as the MIL came to stay. Despite me saying for about 9 months that it wasn't happening. She was helpful, but also made me a hormonal wreck in that she took charge of everything. Swaddling the baby in 500 layers is the done thing here, so when I had her in just a babygro, there was an outcry!

Good luck to Mrs Dino Rawr and anyone else who's on the way!

My c section was a really positive experience overall - everything was so calm (apart from me). The scar's sore now, but not unbearably so, managed really well with a few pain meds. Apart from the one given by the pharmacist who can't read, which was for heart attacks?!

Baby Anna Lucia is doing really well, still very tiny and waiting patiently for my milk, but we're figuring it out I hope!

SlideIn · 28/09/2014 01:14

tiptoes back in

Hello, sorry have been AWOL; suffice to say wasn't in too good a way emotionally & needed to withdraw somewhat & just focus on us really. Better now. Thanks for thoughts all. Haven't had time to read through all but huge congrats to buggerlugs and others I've missed, will catch up eventually.

We're home now, utterly sleep deprived, still full of the bastard fanny daggers, frightened of doing something wrong and/or hurting my very wee man and wondering WTF I used to do with my time...? It's an achievement to have a shower and I haven't worn anything but pyjamas in a fortnight. But he is so worth it. Will probably lurk on here but will move over to the post-natal thread - be seeing you there soon! Smile

ohthegoats · 28/09/2014 06:40

I'm 40 weeks today, which my body is celebrating by giving me a hacking cough. So that's nice. Seems to have bypassed the usual 'tickly before productive' stage, so I'm coughing up loads of crap. Think it might be a day for wallowing in bed with Netflix. Thank god no builders.

Grannyapple · 28/09/2014 07:27

Aw congrats slide...gorgeous little munchkin! x

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 07:45

slide welcome back! Totally understandable and I think it's amazing any of the new mummies remember to post, I imagine my head is going to be all over the place!

I am actually feeling quite amazing, 7 hours sleep Friday night no wake ups and 8 hours last night with 2 wake ups but managed to pretty much get straight back to sleep. Almost don't feel pregnant... then I tried to roll over and realised I still need a crane Grin

puppythedog · 28/09/2014 07:49

Congratulations Buggerlugs and welcome back slide. Grin

YellowWellies · 28/09/2014 08:33

Slide lovely to see you. Goats hope your pelvic floor stands up to a cough better than mine!

After we went to bed at 11, Lilly fed at midnight, 4am and has just got up for the day. So I got nearly 7 hours in 3 chunks! Feel AMAZING! I hope she decides 4 hourly gaps between night feeds are the way forward. She also slept happily in the crib - not sure if it was because she was swaddled, had been cuddled lots in the day so was feeling secure sick of being held, has my nighty as bed linen or is just used to being out. Phew! obviously she'll change all this tonight if we're allowed home and we'll see her every hour!

Pregnantagain7 · 28/09/2014 08:34

Massive massive congratulations to buggerlugs Flowers

slide your little man is absolutely gorgeous his picture made me cry :)

porcito I love your daughters name Anna is one of my girls middle names and Lucia was what I would have loved to have for this one if it was a girl but I can't as it rhymes with my two girls names I have already so would have been very confusing!

No signs of anymore leakage for me so true what sazzle said it's back to knicker checking for me! Think I'm going to try and go with goats and get on with life and ignore the fact I'm heavily pregnant!

I'm definitely feeling the hormones at the moment feel very weepy feel I can admit now that the huge row I had with dp last night was over a mcdonalds Blush but it was kind of the straw that broke the camels back.

It was my turn to get up with the kids this morning as I had a lie in yesterday, think he's feeling bad as he mumbled give me an hour and you come back to bed Hmm that was at half six no sign yet! May have to go and bang about upstairs a but or send the three year old up!!!

Pregnantagain7 · 28/09/2014 08:37

yellow glad things are going well wow that sounds like an amazing night!
All mine have loved being swaddled they were all side sleepers a swell I used wedge two rolled up cellular blankets at the front and behind them they used to love it. God all these little things are coming back to me now it's amazing how quickly you forget :)

SweetPeaPods · 28/09/2014 08:49

I'm struggling to remember who I've congratulated and who I haven't. Especially with FB confusing me more, so I apologise to anyone I've missed. I'm struggling to keep up with these threads.
Very exciting all the baby announcements. I hate this waiting game though, will be gutted if I go overdue after ds coming on time!

TMI ALERT- is anyone really swollen down below? I'm not sure if it's swelling, or bulging? Not sure if I've got a possible prolapse that's just developed? Got DH to have a look who helpfully said he's not sure. Do I contact GP or MW? Need to find out if it will affect a vaginal birth.

Taking ds to soft play this morning to meet a friend, fingers crossed it's not too busy as looks like a nice day.

Shirehobbit · 28/09/2014 08:52

Morning all.
Hope those with newborn squishes are managing to rest and feed well - loving the photos, here and on FB.
Like goats I'm completely full of cold, so labour can definitely wait until this clears. And I'm being in-lawed today, I don't know that my patience is going to last that long Blush
So right now, I'll take the positives - this baby is currently well fed, warm, sleeping happily when they need to and I don't have to worry about changing them - all without me having to do anything to help them Wink because I know, at some point in the near future I'll find myself longing for that simplicity again!

Pregnantagain7 · 28/09/2014 08:58

sweetpea I was really swollen with my last pregnancy I think it's quite normal it didn't have effect on my birth. My best friend had a prolapse after her dd and said it felt like there was an orange stuck in her fanjo! But that's probably not that helpful when heavily pregnant as I feel like that now!!

Sorry that not really that helpful maybe mention it at your next appointment if it's not too far away? :)

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 09:27

Think I have over done it a bit this morning already! Got up did a load of washing, loaded dishwasher and made dh breakfast. I'm now laid back on the bed out of breath and knackered. Think I might have to skip church this morning, can't believe how exhausted I am from little things!

Could also have been the embarrassment of seeing my lady garden for the first time in a while, I feel so sorry for the midwife yesterday that did my internal examination, I don't even know how she found it! Going to have to practice some yoga posture in front of the mirror with a trimmer and do something about it before I go into labour Blush

ohthegoats · 28/09/2014 09:35

Haha binky, I have similar lady garden issues. Going to get boyfriend to tackle it for me dince shaving my legs in the bath last night was a huge mission of core muscle 'strength' and bracing myself against walls and taps. Not easy, or graceful!

mrsb87 · 28/09/2014 09:57

Yes binky I'm concerned that the mw isn't going to be able to find my cervix let along sweep it, lol.

STIGZ · 28/09/2014 10:27

slide absolutly gorgeous Smile hope you are well ?

My lady garden is out of control aswell Blush. Think dp will have to assist as like goats said, just shaving the legs is a mission and a halfShock. I also jokingly shouted to dp this morning i needed a hand to wipe bum as i couldnt reach... He pretended he couldnt hear Grin but im sure he will hear me loud & clear when i need his assistance for the other taskHmm

fedupofrainydays · 28/09/2014 10:38

I did some blind trimmage a few days before my labour went as I caught sight of lady garden in our full length mirror! Good job as poor MW wouldn't have been able to find it!!

YellowWellies · 28/09/2014 10:45

I didn't have chance and apologised to the theatre team that they might need a mower Blush they didn't bat an eyelid Smile

Kirstipops · 28/09/2014 10:57

Congratulations Buggerlugs!
Welcome back Slide, lovely wee boy!! Nice to see back here, hopefully catch you on the postnatal thread before too long, enjoy settling into being a new family Smile

Mrsdino hope things are progressing today, looking forward to hearing your news!

Happy due date Goats!

Sweetpea I'm a bit like that as well "downstairs", I just assumed it was pretty normal, what with all the pressure on that area.

Sounds like a good night Yellow!

I am gubbed today, we had a lovely night over at my parents' last night with my sister and her family and my aunt and uncle, like a small scale baby shower; we left about midnight but the time I was home and in bed my head was too abuzz with thoughts that I couldn't sleep, my whole body felt sort of jangling somehow!

Ended up downstairs with my natal hypno cd playing on my mp3 player and managed to relax and pass out on the settee eventually, which hopefully bodes well for d-day. Feeling a bit emotional today, DH is upstairs working on the baby room but ungrateful contrary cow that I am I wish he was just with me on the settee so I could snuggle Confused
To all the new mamas, hope you have a lovely day with your babies :) Hope everyone else has a cheery comfortable non-bleugh-feeling day!

MrsBadCrumble74 · 28/09/2014 11:10

buggerlugs congratulations on your beautiful baby girl and welcome back slide Thanks

Ping - d day today and still no sign. However I would rather not go into labour today as have a stinky cold and am feeling rather sorry for myself. Sunday newspapers and films aplenty today methinks :)

Lady garden issues too - industrial lawn mower will be needed at some point Hmm

Have a lovely Sunday everyone. Brew

MundayCakes85 · 28/09/2014 11:16

Ping! Fully cooked and ready to go here too. Baby doesn't seem to understand this though Hmm
I had a wax a couple of weeks ago, hopefully will tide me over Smile
Congratulations to the new mummies, lovely photos, can't wait for mine now! Hopefully see you on the postnatal thread soon.

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 11:54

Aargh, I've just woken up again! Can't believe I managed to fall asleep for another 2 hours after such a good night's sleep. All I did was lay on the bed for two minutes after getting dressed , oops!

CellyD · 28/09/2014 12:11

Congratulations buggerlugs and lovely to see your beautiful LO slide.

Happy due date to all those who are fully cooked. I hope your LOs don't hang around too long in the comfy surrounds of your tums. You might find it useful to post the following link into your text message replies to annoying optimistic friends and relatives asking if you've popped:
www.haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com

Happy Sunday everyone.

binkybunny · 28/09/2014 12:20

Ha ha Celly, love the link. MIL messaged yesterday to ask if 2 had become 3 yet. I'm 2 weeks away from due date and I felt like replying, because obviously your son wouldn't have let you know! Hmm

Kirstipops · 28/09/2014 12:28

Bwahaha Celly , just posted that link on my Facebook page, I wonder if work colleagues will take the hint!
