Just Shagging 12th Thread for graduated viroids

FurryScoob · 16/09/2014 16:51

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! smile

Join us wil, you know you want to.... (Said in a come join my cult style voice)
Mwahahahahaha

laurenamium · 05/10/2014 08:22

You're all crazy Grin

wilmabedrock · 05/10/2014 08:48

Hahaha I shall NOT Min, I will find other ways to waste my money such as lambswool baby blankets and overpriced slings. Although come to think of it, pissy sticks would be much cheaper.

Minion · 05/10/2014 09:35

Even more cost conscious when I realised I had a whole bag of both from before .
Oh, oh, slings. Yes talk to me about them. I really would like one which keeps baby close to skin but have a terrible back.. You think this will be a problemo? I've just seen some lovely ones on etsy.

RPopz · 05/10/2014 09:55

Hahaha Min - you must be relieved to discover you're still upduffed Grin I thought pg tests weren't supposed to work after a while!?

Love you crazy lot Smile xx

Minion · 05/10/2014 10:03

Phew, it was a relief I tell thee! I was a bit confused by all the belly rolls before, could have been gas I guess. Glad to know haha!

That's what I was testing, for me they still do and always have worked. Both the pg and ov sticks are positive still.

wilmabedrock · 05/10/2014 10:29

You need to save all these sticks for number 2 Min Wink

I also have a bad back and I think that while baby is small, it should be ok. Maybe stay away from ring slings as they put all the weight over one shoulder.

From chatting to several people in the know, apparently it's best to have a ring sling or a wrap for the first 3 months ish and then swap to a carrier type. My friend has lent me her wrap so I just need to get a carrier. I like the look of the Tula but they're pretty expensive compared to some other makes and I think it might just be because they come in pretty patterns Hmm . There is a fb site called SaSa Slings which is quite good.

KatoPotato · 05/10/2014 12:19

Good day viroids! Me and DH finally Dtd this morning after a six week luv since bfp! I had to initiate it so I think he's been too feart to!

My 5pm nausea continues but I'm feeling less tired now, booking in on Friday at 9 weeks!

minimooo · 05/10/2014 12:39

Hi viroids! Am back from the Peak District and just catching up on thread. Made me giggle at all the POAS action!
Glad you're feeling better kato I've got my booking in appt this week too (Weds)
Am still in bed Blush feel really lazy, but just can't be bothered to get up!

laurenamium · 05/10/2014 16:58

Afternoon! I'm having a nightmare day, managed to reverse my car into my uncles brand new parked car Confused so have that to sort out. I'm currently sat in a soft play so DD can attend a birthday party. I need a stiff drink but will be making do with an orange juice Hmm

wilmabedrock · 05/10/2014 17:46

Oh no Lauren. At least it was your uncle and not a random though.

Popz I bought the other half of h&m maternity that you left behind the other day.

Pisghetti · 05/10/2014 18:03

Oh dear Lauren I reversed into the side of a car right in front of the owner (he was distracting me - I thought he was going to step out behind me - no excuses though) who turned to be a policeman coming off duty. He fetched his wife (a policewoman coming on duty) to swap details while he went to pick the kids up. Not my finest hour!

I'm getting interested in the Mothercare Orb. There's a pretty good offer on at the moment. It's a Which? best buy but the actual customer reviews aren't great.... Not sure who to believe (do people go back months after buying a pram to say how good it is or us it just the ones who weren't happy...?) any viroids have it or know someone who does?

wilmabedrock · 05/10/2014 18:13

What do the reviews say? If it is about faulty mechanics I would take heed. If it's cosmetic stuff maybe not so important. I imagine Which do a test with a new buggy and take cost and accessories etc into consideration. Doubt they use it daily for a few months before reviewing.

Pisghetti · 05/10/2014 19:58

Mostly faulty brakes (sticking rather than not working at all) and also a few reports of a similar 'sticking' issue with the chassis when trying to fold it down. Hmmm might recheck the reviews in a few months in case it's a dodgy batch but sound like problems you could do without! Which carry out lab tests to simulate heavy use for durability but you can't really compare to real life "argh I'm gonna be late for work and this f*ing thing won't fold" angst!

RPopz · 05/10/2014 20:05

Oooh what did you get Wil? I finally cracked and got some maternity work trousers... And a load of leopard print jumpers! Maternity wardrobe seems to be heavy on the leopard print... people are gonna start calling me Bet Wink

Redshoes56 · 05/10/2014 20:44

Hi gals! I really have to stay on top of my visits, I miss so much. I saw la's sad news :( Big hugs to you if you are checking in, girl.

Any babies born in the last few weeks? juni is next, yes?

21+1 here. Had the big anatomy scan on Thursday, but my stubborn child was curled up in a ball and they couldn't make everything out, so we're due back in three weeks to try again.

But... we did find out that we are having a girl! They seemed pretty convinced of the sex, despite the awkward positioning. We are SHOCKED as we have been convinced pretty much the entire time that it's a boy. Now we're scrambling to think about girl names.

It's also changed my whole approach to registering for gifts (again, huge deal here in US, and my mother is harassing me to finish the list, presumably because she and my MIL are planning my shower). Picking this stuff out is stressful. There are hundreds of bottles! And buying a stroller is harder than buying a car. Unbelievable.

No shags here for a bit. Feeling horrid this past week with a bad cold I simply cannot kick and clearly cannot take much medicine for. It has traveled over the past week from throat to nose to ear to chest. Latest joy is painful coughing so severe I literally peed myself last night. It was the last straw. I cleaned myself up and then had a good cry (and chocolates). DH was very comforting, and also grateful I did not soil the couch. Why must our bodies betray us?

rpopz lots of leopard here stateside, too! That and tight bump-hugging sweaters that aren't quite that flattering on me. I've been gravitating toward cute flowery tops -- not old-lady flowery, just very sweet and, well, motherly.

Sorry to hear about the bad care luck lauren. Ugh.

gaggiagirl · 05/10/2014 20:48

Peacocks is good for maternity basics.

Redshoes56 · 05/10/2014 20:49

*car luck, not care!

JuniDD · 05/10/2014 20:50

Hey red lovely to hear from you. Sorry about the pissing yourself thing, sometimes a good weep is just what's needed. Thanks And congrats on a girl, exciting!

I am next - just popped my first raspberry leaf capsule and it was fecking disgusting in spite of being a tablet. Expecting to start labour immediately, of course Wink.

Sorry about the car lauren, hope it's all sorted easily.

We tried the pram chassis in my car today...it barely fits. So that was nice!

We're almost full - who's starting the next thread? We're moving so quickly these days!

Nessalina · 05/10/2014 21:00

I'll start the next one! I really will this time, promise Grin No excuse now I'm on mat leave!

Hey Red! Good to see you, awesome news on a little girl! Smile That's 21 weeks that's really flown!

Juni - intrigued by the raspberry leaf stuff, need to have a read up on it. I'm officially 'term' (37 weeks) next tues, so after that he's welcome to arrive any time!

Bad luck on the car Lauren Confused I've so done that in a car park. Very embarrassing!!

RPopz · 05/10/2014 21:05

Hellloo Red great to hear from you! Congratulations on a little girl Smile Interesting as I am also convinced I'm having a boy! Hope the cold/ cough clears up soon xx

Have you tried the tea Juni? Is that rank too?

Just got back from the in laws with a Moses basket full of clothes, a bouncer seat thing, a mobile, a bag full of lamaze toys and a pink bumbo! Lol! Shock Where is all this stuff supposed to go!!? Also, I'm not even joking, about 50 knitted cardis... Girl sure loves to knit!

RPopz · 05/10/2014 21:09

Sorry about the car Lauren Sad

Juni - you've got a silver cross haven't you? Did you get a guarantee/ warranty with it? I've only got the mothercare receipt... unless there's more paper work in the box.... Confused

Redshoes56 · 05/10/2014 21:35

Thanks, juni :) I have heard of so many things that are supposed to induce labor -- pineapples, parsley, red raspberry leaf, spicy food, sex, etc. I think the baby just comes whenever it darn well pleases! More than one person has told me a greasy cheeseburger was the final ticket for them....

nessa the time really has flown. I'm willing the next few months to go slower. I have a lot to do!

RPopz I would have put good money on "boy." I even dreamt it! But apparently, my grandma had a crazy dream the night before my scan that included my mom, MIL, and even deceased female relatives of ours all standing over a baby girl. She is calling it her big premonition now, of course. Are you waiting until delivery to find out?

JuniDD · 05/10/2014 21:50

I've not tried the tea, not a fan of herbal tea. Raspberry leaf is meant to tone your uterus to make contractions more efficient. So I'm trying it out as it won't hurt. Though it's now repeating on me so that may be the first & last one I take! At the moment I'm feeling quite zen about when the baby comes, now or late...ask me again in three weeks though Wink. I think I've got it round from back to back and currently perched on the edge of the sofa so the less time I have to do this the better. It's a bit tiring!

Nice haul rpopz, just shove it somewhere, my entire spare room is covered in stuff, which is great for MrJ who is sleeping in there right now. Tee hee!

I think there's a guarantee/warranty with the pram. I'm a bit shit at paperwork and MrJ chucks everything away that he possibly can. Good idea to have a look though!

Redshoes56 · 05/10/2014 21:52

Interesting, and I'd agree -- anything that promises efficiency in pretty much any area of my life? Bring it on!
