Thanks lady that sounds really good!

utopian99 · 28/08/2014 10:59

When can you start on raspberry leaf tea capsules? Took them last time as I'm not a tea drinker.. not going to bother with epo pessary as I never got the hang of it and ds was 12 days over anyway. That reminds me to book Accupuncture too...

Fully jabbed up and have found a local gym with creche that looks nice, which makes me a lot happier about weight gain and activity levels in the last trimester. Just need to wind up work projects now - 11 weeks to do it in, although realistically that's 33 working days. Argh!

amy83firsttimer · 28/08/2014 15:56

Think I've got 23 shifts left but I never work more than 3 days on the trot (but never have 2 days off together). Day off today and walked about 3.5 miles this morning and needed 1.5 hr nap this afternoon! Roll on 4th October!!!

Got 8 weeks left, which is 40 days in the office... Ohhhh, it defo sounds better on weeks not days. Don't look forward doing handover to the replacement person in the last weeks at all. Find it quite stressful as cannot go completely your own rhythm about doing things.

ToniWol · 28/08/2014 16:22

21 working days left before mat leave (technically 26 but am taking my last weeks A/L the week before). Cannot wait.

Just been to get my Whooping Cough jab. Seems to be okay which is good as NCT classes start tonight.

Hope everyone else is feeling good.

blamber · 28/08/2014 16:29

Utopian I think from 32 weeks onwards?

I have 11 days left until annual leave immediately followed by mat leave! I can't wait!

ladydolly · 28/08/2014 16:56

I'm so jealous of you ladies starting leave soon - enjoy every minute!! Strawberry I've got the same time left as you, I like to think of it as 8 more Mondays...

Anyone watching 'in the club'? Seems to be a series of stories of scary things that might happen to me... DP keeps asking why I keep watching these things!

WorkFreeWannabe · 28/08/2014 20:10

Evening Everyone!

I'm the same as you Amy. 5 weeks left - whoop whoop! Thank God I decided to take annual leave before my mat leave starts in November. Today's tube journey was awful and sitting at my desk is increasingly uncomfortable. Baby is having a penalty shoot out under my ribs. Another 2 months of commuting and working would have been torture.

Had my whooping cough injection yesterday. My arm is still very sore and hurts to move. The nurse wouldn't inject my right arm as it's main one. Hopefully I can sleep on my left tonight.

29 week consultant appointment tomorrow. Hopefully there's nothing to report.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 28/08/2014 20:17

How come we have only got up to 7 November threads and October are on 11?
Are we:
A) less chatty
B) fewer of us
C) everyone is on fb and I'm missing out?

haventgotaclue1 · 28/08/2014 20:31

I'm watching it too lady! It's addictive, although really hope none of the awful things happen to me - it's a bit like watching OBEM - my dh keeps asking me why I watch that (I don't really - I look through my fingers at the actual giving birth parts.....) Blush

Kantha · 28/08/2014 21:05

I've been reading the October thread occasionally, and have concluded that they are very, very chatty.

Strawberryfield12 · 29/08/2014 11:11

ladydolly I started watching it, but about 3 time decided give it a miss as it seems the typical pg scaremongery. Would not work together with the hypnobirthing classes. Just the sight of the woman holding a lantern on contractions and the other one going nuts to fetch the car... I had some hopes for this film, but...

amy83firsttimer · 29/08/2014 12:33

I'm blaming the fb abandoners!

Afternoon all. How you all doing?

Blambsr - I'm on 2nd set of lazyfaisy classes. I enjoy them, as much to have a set time focused on me and baby
I like the others mums and shared understanding.

Have my 2 hr nhs antenatal classes, yesterday. Beyond useless and quite upsetting really with racist, homophobic se ist health educator.shocking tbh. had a consultant appt afterwards to shared concerns with her.

Pressure onbig style to get transverse baby moved. They ate pushing for planned section to be booked just incase for 37 weeks. :-(

Hopeful83 · 29/08/2014 14:47

Weeonion - that sounds awful! I hope you complain about the woman leading the class. I have mine next weekend, I hope it's useful.

Good luck getting your baby turned, how many weeks are you now? There must still be lots of time for him/her to turn. Hopefully you can still have your home birth.

Hopeful83 · 29/08/2014 14:49

Yesterday I went to bluewater shopping and it killed me. Today everything aches so much, to bend my legs kills, all my joints ache. I'm only 30 weeks. Surely this isn't normal? I can barely move!

Strawberryfield12 · 29/08/2014 16:21

Weeonion, in the last hypnobirthing class we were talking about baby moving into a perfect position. They mentioned polar beer position and rebozo method, also having torch to the lower abdomen in the dark room. Apparently, babies tend to turn towards the light. And also imagining your baby being in the right position - head down, chin to chest, hands to heart, back to belly.

My girl is also still sat as a cake- head to the right and legs down to the left (27+5 weeks). Will be trying all those things if she doesn't budge when it's time. I'd rather stand for hours on all four than let do the manual turning.

Strawberryfield12 · 29/08/2014 16:22

I think it might be the FB group, there definitely was more going on when I joined in mid summer. Or maybe the novelty of being pg has worn off and there is no need to talk about it so much?

Annarose2014 · 29/08/2014 16:38

I'm a bit crocked too. I want to start those 10 minute yoga videos on YT. DH is very keen - I think he's going to do them with me!

Hopeful I am finding that baths sort me out when I'm very stiff. I can barely crawl into it but the next day I wake up sorted.

I don't want to be obnoxious, but I've only next week left. As of Friday I'm off! Of course next week will undoubtedly be the longest week ever.....!

Petal26 · 29/08/2014 20:22

I'm guilty of lurking a lot at the moment and not chatting, I will be more chatty! Not much to say without moaning, trying to stay positive :-) Feeling very tired again and still so much to get ready!

We have been doing what feels like a complete overhaul of the house, have been in mega nesting mode. Painted kitchen cupboards, ordered new worktop, sink etc, taken out integrated fridge/freezer and made space into a larder, having a conservatory built the first week in October, painting spare bedroom tomorrow, ordered new furniture for DD......
Still nowhere near ready, really wanted it all done before I went back to school, really don't want to go back to school at all.

Have emailed the head and asked if I can be excused from one of the Inset days next week, would end up being 4 days in a row and I'm only part time so fingers crossed she will say yes. I'm only there for the first half term anyway so don't really need to know about plans for the whole year (hopefully)! Have got 8 weeks left so works out about 20/21 days, far too much if you ask me! Nobody thinks I'm going to make it that long, migraines and tiredness may force me to stop sooner...

Bump has now stepped up the movements and we are back in the territory (which reminds of DD) where I can see various body parts moving across from one area to another just under my skin. Pushing and writhing, larger movements now, just keep lifting up my clothes to watch, didn't record it last time, probably should :-)

amy83firsttimer · 29/08/2014 22:46

Ggggrrrrr, typed long reply and lost it.
Mental movements, DH, house renovations, hospital bag, this post had the lot......

I'm sure it wasn't that interesting

I know how you feel about going back to school, Petal. Feels wrong having had six weeks off, as if maternity leave has already started, then having to go back again! I've given in my MATB1 form, but not confirmed the date I want to start leave. I'm really torn to be honest, as my mum (also a teacher) says that a lot of teachers, especially second time mums, have ended up going off early at her place because they find they get more tired than they expected. On the other hand, I've got people at my work (where most of the staff are quite old, maternity leaves are a very rare occurrence!) telling me that when they had their babies, they worked right up til 38/39 weeks with no problems. I feel like I'm being a bit of a slacker if I go off before half term- by which time I'll be 37 weeks Confused

WorkFreeWannabe · 30/08/2014 08:03

Morning

Had my 28/29 week consultant appointment yesterday. Everything is find so far including the Glucose test. Consultant measured me a week behind. Very strange considering I was measured a week ahead on Tuesday! She was all over the place and being no expert I personally think she wasn't holding the tape properly or in the right place. When she saw my notes said I was ahead, she covered it up with 'measurements are very subjective' code for...I got something wrong. So I've been referred for another scan to check baby's measurements. I don't mind and I'm not worried in the slightest. I'm sure he's fine in there and I get to see him again Grin.

Very active baby since yesterday as movements have definitely stepped up a gear. The rolls are getting more intense and the kicks to the ribs are very painful. I'm getting tired of constantly feeling breathless and nauseous due to feet stuck in my ribs. I'm just over 5ft so maybe he needs more space.

Hopeful83 · 30/08/2014 08:13

Pink - I don't think that's too early. I'm going at 37+3 which is the week before half term. Like you, I feel like I'm already on mat leave and don't want to go back. I'm just hoping I make it to 37 weeks at work as I'm so uncomfortable already!

Petal26 · 30/08/2014 08:24

pink the majority at my school are a bit older as well, the last teacher who went on maternity was full time and worked until a week before so I feel a bit of a fraud complaining about tiredness being part time!
They haven't advertised my cover yet so feel a bit of pressure to make it to half term :-s
I'll be 37/38 weeks as well, DD was 13 days late so in my head I'm thinking that still gives me a month off!
