Twiglet I hope you weren't sick all over the fresh laundry like what happened to someone else on the thread a few months ago!

About size 1 nappies, I don't know but i was going to get enough for a couple of weeks and then trial cloth.

Sooo, just had the unpleasant realisation that I am now allergic to doing washing - was hanging clean stuff out in my lunch break and rushing a bit, but the up-down-up-down of picking washing up then stretching up to hang it made me vomit without any prior warning. Boo to more sick, but yay to an excellent excuse to hand laundry chores over to DP! Grin

I was going to get majority of nappies and things once baby has arrived, but am now definitely going to spread the cost. Sorry to be dim, but how big a baby does size 1 fit up to? Blush

Thanks Toni I just phoned boots and I wasn't added either! They've sorted it now.

Sadface. I couldn't get on an NCT class, they were all booked up near me. NHS only and I'm even having to attend one out of my area to even get on that one. Must be a baby boom locally!

Loved my NCT class everyone seemed normal! I'm second last of the group with my due date, some are end of October. Have another session on Saturday. DH was pleasantly surprised by the class - think he felt he was bing dragged along!

Ladies who've signed up to Boots - give them a call. I registered online and it only partly went onto their system. I gave them a call the day after I'd bought some breast pads (had some early leakage but it seems to have stopped...), and they confirmed that it hadn't fully registered me. It had the due date down but nothing else, so the nice chap on the phone completed the registration, put my extra points on plus some additional ones as compensation.

This week is the first of 4 for 2 Antenatal Classes - NCT on Thursday and the local NHS one's on Friday. But DH agreed was best as he's never had any encounters with babies before now.

Anna I had nose bleeds in the beginning of the 2nd trimester, so annoying! It did stop eventually. I woke up with one once, bed and I looked a dreadful sight...

Amy how about thread 10 - heading towards the big push ??

ladydolly I love coconut oil and have used it on nips in the past but it's not effective enough for the early days. Lansinoh keeps the area moist so any wounds don't scab, coconut oil is absorbed too quickly to do that and the last thing anyone wants is to feed a baby with a scabbed nipple - the wound just rips open again and again!

Report
ladydolly · 02/09/2014 12:09

Am I being wildly hippy and optimistic by using coconut oil instead of lansinoh??

Anyone got an idea for title for the new thread? Mine was very minimalist!!!!

I've also registered (at start of July!) and not received the pack yet, need to email them as I wanted to make the most of the additional advantage card points! Will definitely be stocking up on lansinoh!

Is anyone else getting nosebleeds? I've been having them for the few weeks...not too worried as they do seem to be a pregnancy symptom but they're just a bit unpredictable!

I've tried to register with the boots parenting club but I've not received any vouchers and also the offers aren't showing on my boots app. Frustrating!

I'm goin to join the amazon parenting club too, it's free for the first three months and you get a discount on nappies.

Has anyone tried silicone breast pads? I saw some by theraline, but I'm not sure if they'd work.

Lansinoh is so worth the money Sainsbury used to do half price nappy n toiletries events when I had little one 4yrs ago as well as the 1/3 off everything events they sometimes have so I got lansinoh for£5 then haven't seen a good Sainsbury baby event for ages.

May have to just get some next time I see it somewhere on offer mothercare had it when I was early pregnant for £7 on offer

Arnica cream for definite. Not sure if I used anything else on stitches at all apart from cotton wool and water myself! Too nervous of stinging...

CraziesTogether · 01/09/2014 22:08

Thanks ladies.

I have stashed loads size 3&4 from special offers and a local kiddicare closing. Will add some 1s to the next shop!

What about stuff to treat war wounds and stitches? I'm planning for the worst (hoping for the best)!

I think I had one big box of size 1 nappies, plus a small pack of them to take into hospital with me, and after that went on to size 2s. DS was a fairly big baby, though, so tiddlers may need to stay on size 1 a bit longer!

And Lansinoh is bloomin' expensive compared to other nipple creams, but it's well worth the money, IMO. It moisturies, and soothes the pain, much better than any other brands I tried.

Argh, she was 6lb12oz, one day back at school and I can't think properly!

Did a big Boots order and had to 'refuse' the parcel. Box was open, boxes inside were all squished, paperwork missing, no good :-( More annoyed that it means I'll have to go and lug all of the things I need out of the shop myself!

I've got about 300 size 1 nappies, about a months worth. DD 6lb6oz and was in them for weeks...
