Just Shagging Grads Thread 10 - Roll Up, Roll Up all you graduated Viroids!!!

cookielove · 13/07/2014 19:23

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

There is a stats thread here but its a zombie thread so enter at your own risk....... eeeeek

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 26th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, Pm me!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Min, I go in tomorrow. I was given a choice and tonight was too soon!

I'll be on a small antenatal ward. I think it has 4 or 5 beds. Not looking forward to it though. :-(

And yes, the cross stitch will definitely be finished. Yay!

Your boss sounds delightful, Furry. Has the bleeding stayed away?

Good news with the blood sugars cookie

At least you have a date for it all to be over horace ' it's not too long to wait

Bleeding seems to have stopped for now, keeping fingers crossed it was a one off!

Lady in the bed next to me's in labour, I'm getting scared of contractions now Confused

Report
wilmabedrock · 17/07/2014 06:49

Good news Scoob. Don't be thinking about those contractions quite yet, you need headphones to drown out the sound!

Hi sarah.

Eugh I have definitely not had enough sleep Sad .

Yay for the blood sugars, cookie! :-)

Welcome, Sarah.

I'm currently eating breakfast before packing a bag to go to hospital. Don't want to go stamps feet

I'm going to push for a 38 week section even if baby stays put, I think. Once I've had the steroids (which is what the 39 week section avoids) there's no point not having it early!

Hi Sas

Great news scoob sounds like the lady next to you should be in a delivery room if she's scaring you Confused and your boss sounds like a right tit.

Good luck today Horace hope it isn't too tedious.

Pee is finally with the doctor (hoorah) apparently the midwife will contact me directly so no need for GP involvement. However it is yesterday's pee which spent a (warm) day in my handbag and now I'm worried all the HCG will have broken down. Should have googled before dropping it in rather than after. Ah well at the very worst I'll just have to do another one. 5 BFPs can't be wrong, right?

Good news about the blood sugars cookie

Glad things are better furry, are you home now? Sorry your boss is horrible, are you finishing soon?

How come you have to take you pee in pis?

hi and congrats sas

Hope it's ok horace and the sampler gets done!

Latest colleague weirdness - didn't realise I was pregnant. In spite of me sending an email a month ago to everyone and having, y'know, a BUMP.

Plus I was talking to my mum last night saying the baby seems to keep being breech (kicks low down & in my bladder) and she said "oh good, then you'll have to have a c-section". It's really not my first choice! She keeps saying these things...like I look full-term already, the baby is SO big, I'm way too small to give birth etc etc. I did tell her off last night but wouldn't it be nice if she was on my side?

Why are there so many assholes in my life at the moment when I need them least?!

Report
Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 10:54

Pregnancy seems to bring them out of the woodwork Juni No I don't want to hear about your horrific birth story thanks and yes I am sure there is just the one in there, oh teletubby, hilarious, so what's your excuse then? Got all that to look forward to again when people start finding out! I think some people are nervous about assuming a bump means you're pregnant. I look about six months pregnant after a good meal.

There must be a high proportion of psychotic/neurotic/compulsive liars in my area as they won't take my word for it that I am pregnant. Instead they need a urine sample that they send away to be tested. I'll be astonished if it is even recognisable as urine by the time it gets seen to Confused hopefully there will be enough HCG left in there to tickle the test strip's fancy and then I'll at least be in the system somewhere.

RPopz · 17/07/2014 11:01

It'll be fine Pis - don't worry.

Speaking of assholes.... my fellow pregnant colleague (approx 3 weeks further on than me) - has just got me booted off the nice chilled out desk job I was scheduled to be doing for the next 7 weeks... so she can do it...because apparently she can't do anything else in the lab because she's pregnant (err hello?) and don't we all fucking know about it! So I have to do all her shit for the next few weeks because apparently I'm "bearing up better" (aka not moaning about being pregnant every 12 seconds). Fuming.

Fucking hell RPopz that is ridiculous Angry

Report

I am Angry on your behalf, rpopz. She's one of the pointy-elbowed brigade, eh? Oh well, try to enjoy the view from your non-complaining high-horse. xx

Am now intrigued to know where you are pis! Never heard of that. Wouldn't it be quicker for you just have a dip-test at the GP?! What a rigamarole!

Report
Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 11:51

Good God RPopz! Who makes the decision about who does the job? I'd be having a word with them asap!

If they haven't got a suitable job for her, i.e. not the one you'd been scheduled to do already, and she doesn't feel up to doing her usual job then she'll have to be signed off. If I were her I'd be trying to avoid that at all costs because if it drags on you can be forced to start your mat leave early (actually some people might be happy with that, I'd personally rather have the time off after the birth, but then I have a cushy desk job Blush )

Report
Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 11:56

Well this is the website I consulted to find out what I should be doing (going to GP or booking direct with MW etc) which tells you sweet FA (unless you want info on perineal massage....) so I called my surgery and that is the procedure they follow. It seems a waste of time and money to me - ok if they want to test it that is fine but why go to the expense and effort of having it sent elsewhere for testing when a simple dipstick should do the job!

Report
HungryHorace · 17/07/2014 12:04

That's bonkers, Pisghetti. Our area just takes your word for it! I thought most did. Weird.

RPopz, that's shocking (all round, but your colleague particularly).

I'm safely installed in hospital with all my gadgets. Not had an examination or anything yet though.

Baby has to get into - and stay in - position for at least 24 hours before I'm allowed home. Not head down yet though, still spinning!

Might have a nap after lunch. :-)

Report
Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 12:16

Hmmm now I'm having another look at the website, I've clicked the link for early pregnancy which suggests I can call the community midwife directly without seeing the GP. Maybe I should just go down that route....

Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 12:17

Hope twizzle-babe adopts the correct position Horace ! Good luck Smile

Report
JuniDD · 17/07/2014 12:20

I think that's how they do things here, pis, though I went through the GP because of my history. She just called the midwife while I was in the consultation with her.

OMG. I just looked at the perineal massage leaflet. My face is like this Shock and I feel sick.

Report
JuniDD · 17/07/2014 12:23

oh yes, hoping baby horace fixes comfortably!

Report
Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 12:24

Oh ace! I rang the community midwife and she is at a loss as to why the surgery insist on it as she said the home tests are as effective as anything the NHS use so I can give her a call this afternoon when she has her diary and she'll book my first visit.

I really need to get off here and get some work done.... Have good days viroids.

Report
Pisghetti · 17/07/2014 13:24

P.s. Juni I also made the mistake of looking at the leaflet when I was first pg Shock

Bleeding has stopped, I've had an anti D injection & I'm home! Smile

Good luck horace hope your stay isn't too long & you get your cross stitch finished. Ear plugs seem to be the key to sleep in hospital!

rpops would you like to borrow my shitty boss for a day? Pregnancy is no excuse for not doing a job in her opinion, unless you can't reach something around your bump there is no reason to stop doing it!

Report
JuniDD · 17/07/2014 16:43

ah furry, glad all's improved & you're home. Your job must be so hard in this heat! Your poor legs must be knackered. Are you taking a bit of time off to recover from the scare? Hopefully it'll cool down a bit before you have to go back. xx

popz they totally can't do that, have a word! Is her job really physical?
