Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Good news mario. Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how it goes!

coastergirl · 21/07/2014 20:05

I had a tiny bit of spotting last night which disappeared completely, but it's just appeared again. I'm finding it extra scary because I had to totally change my plans today and tell a few people our news. I work with autistic children and a couple of them are having a really rough time lately. We have a few days of term left so I was hoping not to mention anything, but it was just too dangerous in the end. So I had to tell my close colleagues, which then meant I had to tell my parents too! Eek!

ZebraZeebra · 21/07/2014 20:12

Good luck with the MW appointment tomorrow mario

coastergirl that sounds really stressful re having to tell people when you don't really want to. I think a few of us have had brown spotting and it's all been fine. How do you feel? It's always worth ringing your MW if you're worried.

coastergirl · 21/07/2014 20:33

I don't actually have a MW yet. We recently moved and I've only handed in the registration forms to the GP today.

As for how I feel, I'm not well anyway, nasty cold and cough. I've had low down period pain type aches for a few days and I'm shattered. Today my boobs have really started to hurt too, but otherwise I feel completely normal. I have no idea what to think! The spotting is sort of watery red, not brown.

Hope everyone else is ok.

M27J5M · 21/07/2014 20:39

Oh my I've missed loadsa posts today lol was going to reply to a few but I've got to the end and can't remember what I was going to say Confused doh!! My sense of smell hasn't kicked in yet except from when colouring hair, something in the colour is really turning my tummy so work should be really interesting ha ha

littlemissy12345 · 21/07/2014 20:41

Can I join please? I've just back from a very drunken weekend (which was to cheer me up for another month of not being pregnant) and realised my period was 2 days late. It's the first time I haven't been peeing on sticks for weeks before so it was nice to see 3 very positive tests including 2-3weeks on a clearblue. This makes my due date the 28th of March with no 2. I'm going to try and catch up with what's going on.

Hope everyone is feeling well.

WalterAndTheAstronauts · 21/07/2014 21:20

A little late to the party but may I join you all?

EDD 17th March with first one @ the grand old age of 39!!Shock

Popsicle30 · 21/07/2014 21:20

Wow this thread has gone wild!!! Trying to catch up on everything but think it'll take a while.

I just hope everyone is doing well.

A common theme seems to be people getting early scans. This isn't something I'd even contemplated and just looking to get the usual dating scan around 12 weeks. Do people think we should re-consider? I'm either 8+1 or 7+5. I think I'm the latter but MW EDD brought me forward. It's my first pregnancy.

My sense of smell is making me very nauseous. Like someone else said (sorry I had a lot to read through and can't remember names!) my house makes me feel sick! My husband can't smell anything wrong though.

headlesschicken247 · 21/07/2014 21:37

Oh well doc appt booked. Starting to get a bit more real. Just need to decide when to tell the family. Will probably have to this weekend or at least come up with a reasonable excuse when the gin comes out!!!

Have had a good read of the thread - took me several episodes of Peppa pig distraction to get through… congrats to all - how exciting

kettlepot · 21/07/2014 21:50

Hello all... Can I join please? Had positive test earlier this evening - bit of a surprise but not in a bad way!

Not many symptoms yet, just sore boobs... Can't complain really! Testing again to make sure tomorrow, but period 5 days late so fairly certain Grin

kettlepot · 21/07/2014 21:51

Oh, forgot to say estimated due date (handy app on phone) is 25 Mar... So just about makes it!

MGFM · 21/07/2014 21:56

I have made my first baby purchase which I know I probably shouldn't have but I couldn't help it. My next door neighbour is selling her baby back pack carrier thing (i have no idea what the actual name is, it is a back pack you put a baby in for going on country walks etc and has space for water, food, etc) it is really good quality and hardly used and since they are so expensive I thought I should buy it from her. She was also the first person I told I was pregnant as DH was at sea and I was at home on my own with the pregnancy test and didnt know what to do so just ran next door as needed to say something to someone. Luckily I have an amazing next door neighbour! Even if the worst happens and we don't have a sticky bean, we will be trying again so said baby back pack will get used one day! She has offered to keep it in her house for a few more months.

Brummiegirl15 · 21/07/2014 21:59

Hi Popsicle
I admit my reason for an early scan is two fold. Having had a recent mc I feel I need the reassurance.

But also I think "because I can" - going to the private clinic in Solihull is a v popular choice with friends and colleagues. I admit I can afford the £80 even though it's a lot and have made the choice to have one.

I guess it's also a case of just because you can, doesn't necessarily mean you should. If I couldn't do it locally I guess I'd have to wait until 12 wks.

I try not to think about a company making a profit from our paranoia. But I guess it's a case of providing a need. People wants scans and will pay for them.

tannyLoo · 21/07/2014 22:04

Yay to being sick! Been feeling so nauseous all day that now I've finally got there I feel so much better!

Wowzers, we must have all found the World Cup really dull! So many of us Grin

Pop I don't think you should reconsider and get an early scan. You sound nicely symptomy and have no MCs to scare you shitless, so relax and enjoy it...

theonewiththenoisychild · 21/07/2014 22:12

hi my baby is due march. i didnt want to join in with this thread until i got a good strong line on a test which i got this morning. its nice being able to talk on here as only a few close friends know none of the family know and neither do my 2 dc's its lovely keeping it secret as ive always blabbed as soon as i got a bfp. will tell everyone after the 12 week scan Grin

persepolis123 · 21/07/2014 22:13

popsicle There are quite a lot of us on the thread who have experienced miscarriage which I think is the main reason for early scans. I never had one with my first pregnancy but would like one this time around for reassurance after mc last month.

FoscarC · 21/07/2014 22:14

pop I'm not going for an early Scan. Have midwife appt tomorrow (I'm 8 weeks), and then will have scan at 12 weeks as far as I know.

tanny very jealous. Have felt nauseous for what feels like weeks and the most I've done is retch down the loo a few times. Think I'd feel much better if I just got on with it and vommed.

tannyLoo · 21/07/2014 22:21

Foscar I know! What a crazy situation... Hope you feel a bit better soon. Envy (obviously green cos of feeling sick, not jealous)

theonewiththenoisychild · 21/07/2014 22:22

littlemissy my edd is the same as yours its also my birthday Grin

Popsicle30 · 21/07/2014 22:23

Thank you Brummie and tannyloo. I think I'm going to wait it out. I haven't a clue if there is the option locally and as I'm one of the first out of friends it isn't something I've discussed in rl.

I have all day nausea, usually no sickness, but it caught me out today. I am so tired and have tender breasts so hoping this is symptomy enough! Time will tell.

roll on the next 4 weeks!

PickledPorcupine · 21/07/2014 22:24

Pop no early scan here either. Will wait for 12 weeks even though we're going on holiday in week 8.

MGFM · 21/07/2014 22:28

Early scan a week tomorrow when I will be 7 +5

Popsicle30 · 21/07/2014 22:28

Oops thanks you perse and foscar too. Yes I think as it's my first and I have no history I'm going to wait it out. Good luck for those who are having early scans!

I met the midwife last week but my official booking in appt is on Saturday when she comes to my house. My first meeting was just to give me lots of booklets and my maternity file.

Brummiegirl15 · 21/07/2014 22:29

Absolutely if you feel rubbish with all symptoms with no previous mc then I would save your money and enjoy the upduffed feeling! :-)

To he honest I only found out about the clinic through work - never heard of it before!!

Popsicle30 · 21/07/2014 22:33

Haha it's strange isn't it. You feel so rubbish with ms and all but then when I have a better day I start to panic! We crave symptoms!

Thanks all Smile
