Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. DP has been amazing and very comforting as I feel like a hippo at the moment not helped ny DP mothers comment when we told her 'oh yes it definitely could be twins' grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
That pillow looks so comfy

FoscarC · 21/07/2014 12:40

woodland great news on the scan and congratulations! It must be such a relief to see a heart beat. I have my first midwife appt tomorrow and can't wait. Although am still scared she will tell me I'm not actually pregnant and have made it all up. And all my symptoms are imaginary.

That pillow looks amazing. I would love to go home now and go to bed with that. My poor dh. I have lost any interest in sex at all. And we used to be quite good. We have gone from most days to none for about 9 days now. He is being very understanding. But the thought of sex makes me want to retch. Please someone reassure me that my sex drive hasn't gone forever.

Brummiegirl15 · 21/07/2014 12:56

Hello all!
Congrats to those that have had scans and seen heartbeats.

Have just booked my early scan at MUMS Solihull for 9th August when I'll be 7.5 weeks. Was tempted with the previous weekend but was worried was too early. £80 for privilege but worth it for the reassurance.

Still feeling rubbish, v nauseous and still not DTD with DP but will be asking doc about it on Wednesday.

For poster that asked about booking with midwife, in Birmingham you have to see GP first and they refer you. But other trusts you can book directly

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 13:00

Foscar - I went off the very smell of dh during first trimester last time but as soon as the nausea passed I was like a ravaging horn beast. And the orgasms were amazing. So hang in on there.

I have classic ms it would seem. Vomit from 5 til 10 then vaguely human again. Fun.

Right. We had a little fb confessional this morning and apparently there is a cohort of Jan 12 girls on here. Wave your hands ladies, not you junk. I spotted you already!

hetsto · 21/07/2014 13:02

Hi there. Please can I join you? We've recently found out I'm pregnant, and it looks like I'll be due right at the end of March. Sorry to read that some of you are feeling so grim, I've been a bit nauseous and completely knackered but not too bad so far.

Butterpuff · 21/07/2014 13:05

Not oh dear that sounds bad sorry you feel so awful.

Foscar glad I'm not the only one with the air bump and expulsion problem.

I've been longing for week 12 when the MS will amazingly disappear...until the doc said today that I shouldn't get my hopes up as in her experience most women have it until week 16 Shock

Must be great to have that first scan in woodland

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 13:07

Butterpuff - dont say that! I was hoping for a copy of last time when it eased at 12 and was gone by 14. Even then that would mean another 6-8 weeks of this. Bleurgh

Capybara · 21/07/2014 13:07

Hi everyone - just checking in :) DC2 due around 25 March I think, although that hasn't been officially confirmed yet (only about five weeks along)

Capybara · 21/07/2014 13:10

(waves at any other January 2012 girls :)

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 13:10

Hi capybara! :)
Nice to go through this with you again x

Butterpuff · 21/07/2014 13:17

eat if it helps I didn't believe her for a moment....she also said that the nausea usually kicks in around now (I'm 8+3) and I have had it since about 5 and a half. So she must have been fibbing!

Capybara · 21/07/2014 13:29

Yeah, really lovely to see you back on here cakes :) x

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 13:47

Indeed Butterpuff. 6 week today and started hurling yesterday

gosh it's nice to be called Cakes again :)

smokeandglitter · 21/07/2014 13:47

Hello to everyone who's just joined! Grin

m27j5m thank you that's a relief to know!

Boobs very tender today, and not nauseous exactly but not hungry, so relieved that symptoms other than cramps seem to be returning after the last few days!

Told my parents today, they are so happy and excited! Made me feel so reassured and lovely!

headlesschicken247 · 21/07/2014 14:07

Waves at cakes and capybara from jan2012 (change of moniker just to confuse!)

Hi to everyone else :-) edd 21 march. Fortnight symptoms to date just getting out head round it having convinced ourselves that we were unsuccessful this month. Pah - what do I know!!

PickledPorcupine · 21/07/2014 15:02

First docs appointment this evening. Strangely excited! I'm 5+5 although 5+6 if counting from ovulation. Dh says the day doesn't matter, I say he doesn't have exploding boobs! Every day counts!

tannyLoo · 21/07/2014 15:05

Hello new joiners!

Am 7+1 by scan, 6+6 by ov date and 6+4 by LMP. My head is swimming!

So, how are people with smells? I want to move out as everything in my house STINKS. The worst thing at the moment is the smell of clean things. I've had this problem with all my successful pgs, where I can't abide washing liquids, washing up liquid, soap, deodorant, shampoo, shower gel etc etc etc...

Anyone else or am I alone with my mad smell???

And sorry to say that I was sick with my first until 20 weeks Envy

My second was better and lasted until 14 weeks but I ate like a horse just to get through it and it then took a year post pg to lose the weight.

Speaking of which, I think I need an ice lolly...

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 15:25

Hah - I got obsessed with sniffing soap last time tanny! Wonder if the same will happen. I had to throw out a bouquet of flowers I was give Saturday because the lilies made me want to hurl

pinkandstripey · 21/07/2014 15:38

I cried yesterday morning cos DP made me a bacon sandwich but cooked it in the same pan as his sausages and made the bacon smell like flowers :( (I have no idea how this is possible, herby sausages maybe). The aloe Vera baby wipe smell makes me want to hurl. Uncooked meat smells a lot stronger, I have to check with DP that it smells normal to him and that it's not gone off.

foscar 1st trimester is a sex write off, 2nd trimester is a lovely gift from the sex fairies - lots of it and always marvellous! 3rd trimester was ok, more of a case of 'I don't know when I'm gonna get to do this again'! :)

pinkandstripey · 21/07/2014 15:40

Welcome hetso and capybara (capybaras are awesome creatures!)

northdownmummy · 21/07/2014 15:57

I cried a lot yesterday. First cause I cut a piece of wood too short despite measuring at least 4 times.
2nd was cause I bumped my head on a plate.....don't even ask

FoscarC · 21/07/2014 15:59

Thank you all for those reassuring words. I am quite a fan of dtd (that's what got me in this state in the first place) and I'd be very sad if I felt like this for the rest of my days. I think that's why I'm a bit glum at the moment. I just feel constantly knackered and don't feel in anyway like 'me'.

I've just escaped from work. Couldn't cope any longer. Just wanted to crawl up in a ball. So I'm now going to do that! Need to have lunch time naps I think. It's the only way I can make it to the end of the day. I have my booking in appt tomorrow morning so at least that means a late start tomorrow. God I can't wait for the 12 week point (I imagine this will magically make everything better). But if not at least I can explain my new level of uselessness to my colleagues, I'm sure they all think I've got weird. 4 more weeks to push.

Re smells, I can't stand coffee or wine. And raw meat. And cigarette smoke has taken on a whole new level of grossness. My dh occasionally smokes and I can still smell it on his breathe if he has smoked in the previous 2 days. (And he does have good oral hygiene!). Mainly everything just smells so much stronger. I am forever wrinkling up my nose at things.

oliveobsessed · 21/07/2014 16:10

Ewwwwww smells!!!!! My lovely colleague has an addiction to salted peanuts which nearly made me lose my lunch twice last week

smokeandglitter · 21/07/2014 16:12

tannyloo you're not alone and everyone's normal smell smells stronger to me as well, but my sense of smell is usually quite sensitive. Hate dishwasher smell even more than normal, eugh. And agree with both you and Foscar raw meat (and ham) - just no.

This is my first really emotional day, not cried yet but go kind of numb and very down for a moment. I'm finding knowing why makes it ok to deal with because I'm so happy to be pregnant but emotionally I do feel a bit vulnerable and fragile. Bless you northdownmummy with your tears. Your plate comment made me chuckle! I'm finding exercise helps me a bit or some yoga (suitable for first trimester) can calm me down, perhaps it's the change of focus?

Finding this thread very therapeutic. None of my close friends that live near me are pregnant or have children and none of my family members, plus barely anyone knows yet so thank you for sharing everyone, you're a fantastic support network!

notoasthere · 21/07/2014 16:20

I'm really struggling with nappy changes, even just wet ones. I have a very heightened sense of smell which doesn't help.

Took ds to playgroup this morning - it was outside so he got some fresh air, then he napped in the garden while I slobbed on the sofa - oh so tired today!

12 days till my scan, they really can't go fast enough!
