Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Here here smoke. I rely on you all so much to keep me sane. To reassure me that I am in some way normal and just to talk to as no one else knows and I think my dh would get fed up hearing all my little worries. Although he's been very good. Even down to helping me assess my knicker spotting discharge for levels of 'brownness' over the weekend as I was convinced it was still brown. It wasn't. I was just being mental.

All those suffering pregnancy insomnia I can highly recommend a hypnobirth cd. I use the 'official' Marie Mongan one but I imagine any decent one would help. Late at bedtime and I have only twice got to the end of the session in the whole of my last pregnancy. Worth it for that alone!

At least I'll have had a decent break before going back to nappies. And I'm going to try even harder with EC this time!!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 16:49

Whoops. What happened there?

smokeandglitter · 21/07/2014 17:14

Oh eatscake great idea! I'll look into that!

Bless your dh foscar, what a great support! Yes, mine would definitely get tired of it and has no idea what's what really. Smile

Tmi suggestion for those straining to go to the toilet - if you have a footstool for your toddler to wash their hands in the sink etc try sitting on loo and putting your feet, gets you into the natural 'squat' position and you can often find using the loo a bit easier (can help on top of a safe laxative too). My mum was a midwife and she used to tell all constipated pregnant women this tip. Wink

teaandbiscuitsforme · 21/07/2014 17:27

I'm feeling less sick today than previous days! Hoping it's just a blip and will be back to hurling at everything tomorrow!

I've booked my scan for the day before we go on holiday, DH obviously got fed up of my whining and agreed! Going to be 6+6 so keeping fx.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 21/07/2014 17:28

Good tip eatscake - I'd forgotten that I have mine in the loft from last time. Back then though I only ever listened to it in the bath (and quite often fell asleep) so I might transfer it onto my Ipod so that I can listen to it in the middle of the night without disturbing DH.

I'm supposed to be going to the gym tonight for a Body Pump class but I'm just so bone-achingly tired! So tempted just to get DS in bed then go straight to bed myself...

pinkandstripey · 21/07/2014 17:39

Oh yes to the cigarette smoke! I smoked until I found out I was pregnant with ds, and have never gone back. DP did stoptober last year, but occasionally smokes at work if he's having a bad day. I can smell it as soon as he comes through the door. I'm SO glad I don't have to deal with the smell of a proper smoker this time!

Ds has hand foot and mouth :( so he's feeling very sorryffor himself, thought it was just teething woes and heat rash til the rash went mad :( he's eating today which is a relief, poor little bugger!

MotherOfInsomniacToddlers · 21/07/2014 17:42

Might be joining you all. Very faint positive today, would make me 31st march Grin

smokeandglitter · 21/07/2014 18:03

Congrats motherofinsomniactoddlers!

Dinnerfor1 · 21/07/2014 18:06

My sense of smell doesn't seem to have increased yet. To be honest my main symptom is tiredness at the moment. I'm actually wanting to feel nauseous, just so that I feel properly pregnant! I keep worrying that no symptoms is a bad sign. Last time a couldn't walk through a shopping centre without feeling sick at the various smells (coffee shops and lush were the worst!)

ApplebyMennym · 21/07/2014 18:33

Food cravings and aversions have started! I couldn't stomach spinach and ricotta tortellini which is usually my favourite, but heard someone on tv mention mash and gravy earlier and couldn't get it out of my mind so my amazing husband made some for me. I might have to make a huge batch of mash and freeze it in little portions. I think IR's the blandness that does it for me.

I remember when pregnant with DS2 I was feeling particularly sick one day, and dinner was set to be a roast I think. The thought of the chicken and broccoli was the only thing keeping me going. I went for a nap, fully expecting it to be ready by the time I woke up. Woke up, went downstairs and he had only just started cooking. I sobbed. It was like the end of the world. Then sobbed even harder when by the time it was ready I was feeling too sick to eat (probably because I had got myself worked up) so I had a cracker instead.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 18:43

Had chicken fried rice from the takeaway for dinner. Just what I fancied but tummy was so sore I could only eat alittle

PickledPorcupine · 21/07/2014 18:49

Having read a lot about doctor's muted reactions to 'I'm pregnant' I was expecting my usually odd doc to be the same. He wasn't though, was positively jovial and congratulated us about 5 times!

I have been officially referred to the midwife Grin

ZebraZeebra · 21/07/2014 18:53

Hahaha oh Appleby I had similar meltdowns last time too. Oh the joy of pregnancy hormones.

Not finding nappies too bad but it's certainly no fun notoast

smoke my DH actually bought something called - terrible name - a Squatty Potty. He is also convinced of the squatting method for toiletting. But then we've also gotten rid of all our sofas because apparently sitting will kill us slowly Hmm My husband, god love him, is a little extreme.

PickledPorcupine · 21/07/2014 18:58

Zebra what do you sit on?!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 21/07/2014 19:02

I currently live on our sofa. It's my daytime bed

persepolis123 · 21/07/2014 19:14

Food cravings have started here too. Mine is cheese. On it's own, on a pizza, sprinkled on top of pasta, it doesn't matter. I just neeeeeed cheese! It's the only craving I had when I was pregnant with DS so I wonder if it's another boy.

It can't be fun for those of you with a heightened sense of smell. How do you manage to eat anything?

notoasthere · 21/07/2014 19:16

Will have to keep an eye on our posts ladies, we're nearly on our way to needing another thread!

smokeandglitter · 21/07/2014 19:16

Haha, oh Zebra that's hilarious! And no sofas! My DH would die, he's ruined our sofa cushion from lounging around on it rather than sitting - drives me insane! Sounds like your DH and I would get on a treat... though I'm not quite so extreme! Grin

ZebraZeebra · 21/07/2014 19:19

We lounge on the floor! To be fair, we've not been using them for about a year or so. I sold them on ebay for £1.80. I could get into the long reasons about archetypal postures are better for you but it's a bit dull Wink Eventually we'll get big Moroccan floor cushions or something but it's not uncomfortable like you'd think. And I had awful sciatica last pregnancy and couldn't sit anyway!

ZebraZeebra · 21/07/2014 19:21

Oh persepolis I am going crazy for the big buffalo mozzarella balls! (That sounds so wrong.)

bradderswantsababy · 21/07/2014 19:33

Wow this chat moves fast good job I have the "joy" of m25 traffic to allow me to catch up!

Welcome to all the newbies there are soo many of us now it's really interesting to hear other people views and experience of being pregnant!

My symptoms are minimal at the moment just tiredness and heavy aching boobs which is about the same last and I'm 4+5 so wondering when these will increase?

On our way home from Brighton which was lovely as we saw family but brought some home truths to life! DS is just 2 and totally in the throws of terrible 2's. It suddenly dawned on me that what the hell will I do when I have a newborn and toddler having a melt down?!?! DH tried to reassure me DS will have grown out of it by then but I'm not so sure!

Has anyone thought of names? I've been researching whilst stuck in the car and old fashioned names are the ones we are liking most.

m33r · 21/07/2014 19:34

Congrats mother! Welcome aboard!

dinner I'm the same. I feel nauseous occasionally and it brings me joy! Wtf!? If it goes away I panic. I have nothing else. Not even entirely sure I'm any more than tired than usual (though I napped on Friday and Sunday).

I really worry how I'm going to cope with knicker watch whilst living my life...

mariomadmum · 21/07/2014 19:55

I have completely gone off chips of any kind. the texture in my mouth makes me want to hurl! I dont want to jinx it but my bleeding has stopped. 1st midwife appointment tomorrow, gonna mention the bleeding to her and see if I can get an early scan or something for reassurance. I will be 5+6 tomorrow!
