Well said yellow

mum2kiss · 03/07/2014 20:22

Totally agree yellow. So long as baby gets here safely the journey really doesn't matter all that much!

I've been ok thanks puss. Still a little achy on that one hip and walking very slowly today but we seem to be ok!

ohthegoats · 03/07/2014 20:29

I only half agree with the thing that as long as the baby is OK, it doesn't matter. I've had friends with PTDS from their birth experiences, PND that was kicked of by it too. I've got friends with ongoing (10+ years) of physical problems related to childbirth - stuff that effects them every day. There should be a 'within reason' caveat!

Kirstipops · 03/07/2014 20:36

Yeah it's part of the reason why I took up the Natal Hypno, both my mum and sister were unable to give birth naturally and needed emergency c-sections, so I'm very aware the same could happen to me; I like that the natal hypno method acknowledges that sometimes intervention is crucial to survival of mum and baby and that being in the relaxed state can hopefully help you accept what could be thrown at you! So in a way I'm already expecting I'll need a c-section, but hoping the hypno will do me for a while :)
Glad pusscous and mum2b are bearing up well!
Been reading the "Food of Love" bf book, it's great!!!

I only meant that statement in that you shouldn't feel bad if you need medication to get you through. Some people think they have failed if they have an epidural or c section etc...

If you have an horrific birth of course it matters! Mummy needs to make it through safely too!

Kirstipops · 03/07/2014 20:45

"Expecting" is the wrong word, just mean I'd I'm aware a c-section is a very real possibility. Also think that if I'm calm then it'll hopefully help worrywart DH!!!

30% yellow? Shock

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 21:14

Goats I agree both baby and mum should come out OK in my book. A few stitches in your bits is pretty likely and heals quickly but a bad tear can mean double incontinence, there's no sense being a martyr. I was advised on ventouse with an episiotomy or risk a tear from fanny to arse - I opted for the former and genuinely didn't even feel the cut.

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 21:22

....Which gives a bit of a clue as to the background pain level - and what good shit gas and air is!!!!

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 21:45

Jen most do turn in labour - whilst 30% of labours are B2B only 10% of babies come out stargazing.

mum2kiss · 03/07/2014 21:58

A friend of mine birthed a star gazer in march - she may well have some form of ptsd!

My Dd was back to back around the 30 week mark. I spent the next 10 weeks on my knees and elbows! She did turn though thank goodness. My mum delivered me back to back and she's never spoken pleasantly about the experience so when they told me Dd was back to back too, slight panic did set in!

YellowWellies · 03/07/2014 22:10

My little sod turned back to back when my waters broke after being perfectly positioned all along!

fedupofrainydays · 03/07/2014 22:45

I had an episiotomy and still tore from fanny into arse. But all healed ok now and ready for round 2!

Pregnantagain7 · 03/07/2014 22:49

My last two were both back to back and the labours were fine, I did have an epidural as both were inductions however I didn't find it any harder to push them out, I didn't have any intervention or stitches and Ds was 10lb 8!
Back to back isn't always horrendous (either that or I have a very large fanjo Grin Blush

Pregnantagain7 · 03/07/2014 22:50

But dp says strong muscles Grin think I prefer that idea!!

fedupofrainydays · 03/07/2014 22:55

And your dp would definately be the person most qualified to say if your fanjo was large or muscular!

Remember me banging on about my blocked ear? Well it seems to have gone so either it was just a weird pregnancy thing or the olive oil actually worked!

Pregnantagain7 · 03/07/2014 22:58

Ha ha not this Time round he wouldn't Grin! Glad your ears better, Italians believe olive oil fixes everything, I was continually covered in it as a child and to be fair they're right it's really good for lots of things :)

Kirstipops · 04/07/2014 07:04

douses self in olive oil in hope of procuring a muscular fanjo Grin

mum2kiss · 04/07/2014 07:35

Lol kirsti!!

ohthegoats · 04/07/2014 07:49

Yep Kirsti, I've got the C-section feeling too. Breech, old, blood condition, induction when not ready, me getting shouty about drips and ending up C-section. That's my worst case scenario anyway.

fedupofrainydays · 04/07/2014 07:53

Well I'm already oiled up with bio oil so no raly change to switch that to dousing myself in olive oil!!! Clearly medicinal! (And £4 for a medical small pot when I could have just used my kitchen supply!)

Me too a bit re c section - my list of 'it's a c section if... In my notes is pretty long. Oh well. I want a natural but fully expect section.

fedupofrainydays · 04/07/2014 07:54

Ps. I dream about vbac so hoping that's the case!

Pregnantagain7 · 04/07/2014 08:09

Ha ha kirsti that did make me chuckle!! Off to sports day in the rain, can't wait soggy feet and crap coffee! :)

YellowWellies · 04/07/2014 08:13

Pregnantagain oh yeah a back to back with an epidural so you can't actually feel its back to back would be cool! Its definitely my plan this time if I get contractions every 2 minutes!!!!

mrsb87 · 04/07/2014 09:36

Wow, woken up with breakfast at 7.30 (a little routine we got into with the hg and fully intend on keeping up with it!) Then back to sleep for another 2 hours. Lovely! Bloody needed that.
First cabinet is painted and waxed, I now have the 2 wardrobes to paint so they match. The picture doesn't do it justice but I'm really chuffed Smile
