Goats R4 are just reporting that a primary school teacher has been stabbed to death by the mother of one of her pupils, in front of the class! Madness. If your kid is getting bad marks its because you need to be doing more to help them and maybe should have read them a few books, not because the teacher has a vendetta against them. Envy Angry

mum2kiss · 04/07/2014 19:07

Whoa!!!! Killing the teacher?! I mean I remember not particularly loving my teachers at school but I don't recall my mum ever coming up there or committing murder!

My dd's school has been great so far and we've had no problems. The only thing I hate at the moment is frigging number bonds! My Dd just can't get them done in the 2 min time frame! When we practice at home the poor child is frantic! I don't understand how giving a 5 yr old 2 mins to do 20 sums is considered ok!

YellowWellies · 04/07/2014 20:58

It was in France that the teacher was stabbed. Zut alors that surprises me - I thought nutty parents were a UK speciality!

porcito · 04/07/2014 21:07

Reminds me of this cartoon... Here we have the opposite problem, parents literally stalk you round the supermarket trying to chat, invite you to their second cousin's communion. Definitely preferable to being yelled at.

Also becoming more and more panicked by the idea of getting this baby out! My pain threshold is non existent. I almost wish I could be put to sleep for the day until she's here!

I think I'm growing a washing machine, not a baby - he's going round and round and round...

fedupofrainydays · 05/07/2014 07:42

Ugh. Knackered today. Feet hurt and had a late night. But it's off to hen do today and this eve. Taxi booked for 11.30pm - god knows how I will cope til then!!

Went out for meal with one of my best friends last night and promptly got dizzy and threw up afterwards. Nice.
Merlin (nn for our baby) has def been quieter last few days so am bit worried so going to ramp up the kick counting I think.

Ok so I was pregnant this time last year with my little girl, and pregnant again, last time round there was lots of nice comments of your blooming, what a neat little bump ect......... This time round I feel like screaning if another person tells me I look massive compared to last time, how much longer do you have you look like your ready to drop, imagine the size of you in October or more insulting are you sure there isnt two in there, I think iam going to end up saying something I regret, I wouldnt mind but ive not even put on a stone from pre pregnancy weight, why why do people feel its ok to say these things its starting to get me down now Sad, am not one to let people put me down usually must be the hormones.

fedupofrainydays · 05/07/2014 09:07

People just feel the meet to comment Angry. Somethjg about being pregnant that somehow makes people think they can publicly discuss your body. Weird isn't it.

Maybe bugs. If carries on will get a test. I have some dip sticks upstairs that I might do later. Same ones they use although not sure I read them right!

ohthegoats · 05/07/2014 11:45

Oh the vitriol with which parents approach you is pretty impressive, if they aren't brandishing weapons!

Today we hired a floor sander to do our spare room. It's SO LOUD there is no way I can be in the room... small was doing its nut spinning around, kicking the hell out of me. Feel a bit bad, just left boyfriend to it. Although I think he secretly likes being a man about it.

On the subject of touching and commenting, someone at NCT had a man at her work, who she didn't know at all, approach her and ask if he could kiss her bump. What the hell?

Kirstipops · 05/07/2014 11:52

If he could kiss it?!! Fking hell hahahaha what a weirdo!!!! How did she respond to that? (Other than being freaked out). Asanti, my friend who is expecting her second baby is having the exact same inappropriate things said to her, understandably it drives her nuts!
Feeling quite uncomfortable today, think my diaphragm is starting to feel a bit squished.

I signed up for everything last time but honestly the tiny samples were not worth the endless email & postal spam! Would definitely recommend setting up a dedicated email.

Bumpforme2014 · 05/07/2014 18:36

Hello

Had my 4D scan today was lovely seeing my little girls face, she is very cute :-) also had growth scan and everything seems okay although my placenta is low and if it doesn't move up it's a cesarean for me, anyone else had this? I can't imagine it moving to be honest it's been low the whole time.

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 05/07/2014 19:58

Hi Bump, 4d scans are really cool, so exciting to know what your little one looks like!

My friend was told early on that she will need a csec because of a low placenta & it did move out of the way in time for the birth. so still had a c-sec though as she had psyched herself up for it by that point & was dreading the thought of giving birth naturally!

cabster · 05/07/2014 23:15

Congrats to your SIL auntie cabster!

pinkfizzsparkles · 06/07/2014 11:21

Congratulations Aunty Cabster!

Well I'm nearly 28 weeks and feel like the hormones are kicking in! I've had 2 days of tears over ridiculous things, including my new double chin and extra cellulite on my thighs! I feel like I'm slowing down now, I'm not sleeping as well so I'm more tired. I also think I'm spending too much time on mumsnet reading up on horrible birth stories in the childbirth section! This is my 3rd so I know what it's like but I seem to be getting myself in a state over back to back births and forceps. None if these things crossed my mind in previous pregnancies! Not sure the internet a a good thing! I need to pull myself together and try and make the most of the last few months. Please tell me I'm not alone in my hormonal outbursts and irrational birth fears!

mum2kiss · 06/07/2014 11:28

pink I've been seriously pissed off by relatively minor things in the last 24 hrs! Dp keeps asking if I'm ok!

My sis who was living a 5 min walk away moved with her family about 2.5hrs away! Her children are like siblings to my Dd so we're both pretty devastated. Dd is handling it well though...she seems more annoyed than upset that they have left her!

I slept awfully last night. Went to bed early...had to get up 4 times to pee (in the loo that is down frickin stairs!)...then baby seemed to wedge itself in my pelvis each time I went which made it impossible to get comfy...and then to top it off I kept waking up with hip and back pain! Someone asked me if I am enjoying pregnancy...this last few days are not what I would describe as enjoyable! I'm actually quite miserable!

ohthegoats · 06/07/2014 11:30

I think mine are about to kick in too!

First trimester I felt AWFUL, knackered, crying blah blah.

At 11 weeks 3 days, almost dead on beginning of second trimester, I felt better. Things haven't been perfect (random aches and mild constipation and weeing all the time), but mostly I feel as if I have had that 'glow' thing to a degree. Hair lovely, skin lovely, not overly lardier, no hayfever, food intolerances gone, decent amount of energy - physically and emotionally. Pretty good.

Then yesterday, almost dead on the beginning of third trimester at week 28, I woke up with hayfever, last night I ate bread with my dinner and had the normal non-pregnant resulting stomach issues last night, I've got spots on my nose, a huge plooky on my back and slept like the dead last night (which would almost be non-pregnant normal). Woke up with hip ache and that kicked-in-the-vag feeling. It feels like all the good hormones have pushed off over night or something!

Nice.
