Oh no, it can't be the end of the bloom already, I'm still waiting for it to kick in!

IF we decide on another one, I am definitely going to attempt to time pregnancy over winter! Struggling with the heat, I feel sorry for anyone down South where I'm guessing it's even warmer?

Just gone to look on-line at the freebie voucher things in the Bounty pack and everything has £8 shipping from the US. Has anyone bought the bump bands/ slings etc from the pack? Are they worth the £8 shipping or are they just cheap crap?

A pushchair, a car seat and a (very lovely) changing bag are now in our house. I can't believe we got the pushchair we wanted for £140, it's in great condition for an ebay option - far cleaner state than the car seat my sister in law gave us! And phew the pushchair fits in the boot of my tiny car, so no massive expense required to upgrade it. Anyway, bit scary now... boyfriend was wheeling it around the living room laughing about 'haha, you're going to fill this thing up in a few months... how crazy is that?' Yeah, hurhur... can it come out right now please, it's hurting me today..

YellowWellies · 17/06/2014 21:42

Binky I said that this time but got knocked up in January. D'oh! To be fair I'd be worrying about slipping on ice when heavily preggers and resenting buying a fat winter coat! I too am v glad to be up north!

I got a lovely white linen shirt at the weekend that I thought was a perfect summer maternity top. I'd worn it three hours today before a naked toddler (fresh from the paddling pool) smeared in fresh strawberries decided Mummy needed lots of kisses and cuddles and launched himself at me. Its now like a toddler / strawberry juice Turin shroud. Envy I shouldn't complain he's so beautifully affectionate (and not tantrumy!) at the mo.

That's a bargain. What changing bag did you opt for in the end?

ohthegoats · 17/06/2014 21:49

I went for that expensive one in the sale - I've spent the week looking at other options too, just in case, but now this has arrived and I've spent some time stroking it lovingly working out how you'd use the different parts of it, I want to keep it. I like the Pacapod ones, but the one I like in that is £200 - can't justify that!

Bumpforme - all my kicks are really low down. Right in the bladder or cervix most of the time. I poked the top of my bump tonight, and got a kick down low, so it's definitely still breech.

FlipFantasia · 17/06/2014 21:55

36 degrees here and humid as all hell. I literally cannot move away from the fan without starting to drip sweat (I hate sweating - I go all red faced). I even took the kids to the mall play area today to spend a bit of time in air conditioning. I'm just taking a break from painting the kitchen (kids watching cartoons). I'm a sweaty mess!

But, rather excitingly, I think I've managed to line up my first ever freelance work through a neighbour. But very nervous (haven't 'worked' since dd was born 2 years ago...). How do I work out what to charge?!

Bumpforme2014 · 17/06/2014 21:58

Hmmm I'm thinking I'm breech as well then, find out soon as have another scan end of July. Yes down south the heat is unbearable and I'm seriously worried about getting to work on tube in July/August, think I may spend most of august working from home!

pinkfizzsparkles · 17/06/2014 21:59

Good choice. It's something you'll use every day so the money can be justified! I have lots of low down cervix kicks and wondered if it was feet down or if it's to do with having an anterior placenta. The midwife said last week that you tend to feel movement low down or at the side?! I wish I had my own ultrasound scanner so I could see what it's doing and I knew what position it was in.

FlipFantasia · 17/06/2014 22:03

Goats on the breech front, something like 98% of babies are head down at term. So no need to worry for a long time yet. Plus it's hard to tell (with DD two midwives an a registrar were 100% sure baby was breech at 35 weeks before a scan at the same appointment showed head down. She had been transverse at 29w and breech at 32w). Spinning babies is a very interesting site to browse.

YellowWellies · 17/06/2014 22:09

Pinkfizz as Flip says the Spinning Babies website and book is awesome for figuring out your babies position by where you are feeling kicks. Don't even worry about breech until after 33-5 weeks - there's still so much room they can somersault many times a day - if you feel those big gut lurching uncomfortable movements that's them turning over.

I had a look at that website when I was googling anterior placentas and back to back births! It had some good info.

porcito · 17/06/2014 22:15

My bump seems to have slowed down as well but still feeling giant kicks so assuming everything's ok. I'm just using it as an excuse to eat even more.

I think this is my 500th post about the heat, apologies, but I can't wait for the rain in a few weeks! I'm the same flip, I have taken to browsing hideous things in department stores just for the air con. I'm too hot and sweaty to even cook anything so have been living off bananas and cheese and napping like a sleeping bear.

Going to look at that website, thanks! I have no idea what's where. I get kicks in the same spot every time, and not really feeling anything anywhere else so no idea what's going on in there!

Kirstipops · 17/06/2014 22:48

I am in love with Victoria Sling Lady, they sent me a cream rather than turquoise sling by mistake so I emailed to ask how I'd go about arranging the exchange and they replied full of apologies, saying they'd send the turquoise one and just to keep the cream one, yays!!!
That's some good shopping goats! I need to keep an eye out for a changing bag :) In fact I'll need to work out what my hospital bag will be too...what did you all have in mind?
