Hope all goes well at the scan Smile

MademoiselleG · 02/06/2014 08:03

I know: booking in appointment on a Sunday? I was very surprised indeed! I'd actually been booked in twice (take that, Poly 'a hospital!!) so had one lot if appointments via letter and one lot via text messages. All sorted now and I am just one person again Wink

Let's hope it is just a cheeky scan and nothing to worry about. I'm probably going to have a new set if dates again today as this seems to be the way with all early scans. The official one is mon 23rd June which can't come soon enough! School will obviously have an inkling- I never take this much time off! Ah well...

Dd is still asleep - she eventually caved in around 930 pm- so I think it's going quite well! Grin We are hoping to get her used to 'normal' beds as it would be so much easier when travelling or visiting family. Fx!

There's a goose in my garden - wth??

lindamagoo · 02/06/2014 08:05

Aw what a clever big girl, that's very good for her first night. Hope it stays that way. Good luck at the scan Smile

CallingAllEngels · 02/06/2014 08:06

Have scan on Friday at 10+5 and they will ask us there and then if we want the NT. It's also our booking in appt. I had to pick up all the info from them at 5-6 weeks, get background form to them and have a blood test at my GP surgery. Have already seen them once for 8w early scan because of previous losses. mI'm not high risk so we decided not to do the test.

How did DD go in a big bed MlleG ? How old is she? We are just coming out of 6 mo ths of sleep hell with DS that started when he was 2 and moved to a big bed. Nightly wakings meant I was a tad zombie like but I could also blame him during the first few weeks of pg when I was exhausted. He finally seemz to have got it now though and only wakes up occasionally and will let me take him back to his bed and stay there still waking up at 6.30 though but I can live with that

I wonder how they're going to find soemone to replace me as I'm part time, split over 2 subjects and teach as a native English speaker in a Dutch school (and am not in an expat rich area like tbe Hague or Am*dam). Still, have to remember it's not my problem!

barmybunting · 02/06/2014 08:18

MadmoiselleG, I hope your scan today goes well! Hopefully it will just be a chance for some reassurance for you. Your daughter has done well in her big bed!

So much for the first day back at school after half term for me today. I have had a weird couple of nights of waking at 3am to be sick, but last night I managed to throw up my dinner and then wake up at 2am and have been throwing up every half hour or so since, so I have just had to phone in sick as I can't manage the drive to school today, let alone teaching. My classroom is of course in chaos and I have all my books here but whoever covers will just need to muddle through. I have managed to get a gp appointment for 9.15 as I have no idea if this is a bug or acid reflux or what. Just feel yuck!

Pregnancy is so glamorous!

Zermatt · 02/06/2014 08:53

Oh barmy, that sounds horrid, hope you feel better soon.

Re the NT scan, you just get this automatically in Australia as part of your 12 wk dating scan, I had my blood test last week and will get my scan a week on Friday. They also try to encourage you to have the blood test as well if there is any doubt (the one that counts all the chromosomes etc and can give a more definitive answer either way) you have to pay for both, the scan is about $205 but you get $50 back from Medicare (Aussie equivalent of NHS), but the additional blood test after you've done the NT scan is $500, so don't think I'd be having that unless we were really concerned after the NT scan.

fancyacupoftea · 02/06/2014 08:54

mademoiselle good luck for the scan! I'm sure your instincts are right and it's nothing to worry about.
barmy that sounds horrendous! You've done the right thing having the day off. Hope the dr gives you some answers.
Last page of the thread! We really do talk about food a lot.

lindamagoo · 02/06/2014 09:15

Oh barmy that sounds awful, hope it doesn't last too long.

Can't believe we need a new thread already, we can't half talk, lol

Treaclepie19 · 02/06/2014 09:18

Good luck with your scan mademoiselle :) x

lindamagoo · 02/06/2014 10:09

Good luck Made Smile We have a gate on the boys room door, I'm so paranoid about the stairs when they are still sleepy I think it's best

MademoiselleG · 02/06/2014 10:10

Btw barmy , sorry you're feeling so poorly, how awful! I hope you feel better today. Good for you for taking time off though, best way to avoid HG.

A colleague had terrible ms / HG and she managed to negotiate coming in later in the morning - she was in secondary like me so she just got cover for form time everyday. She said it was god-sent as mornings were awful. Might be a thought?

Good luck with ms broody . Dry toast or marmite and lots of rest!

barmybunting · 02/06/2014 10:36

Madmoiselle, how did your scan go?

Broody, I hope your ms is short lived! It is bloody awful!

Thanks everyone, have seen the gp and been given anti-sickness tablets for a month and something to try to calm down acid reflux, as she thinks the vomiting from ms is causing too much stomach acid which causes me to then keep throwing up. I have just taken the first lot now and I am hoping it kicks in soon as I am still throwing up water and anything else possible. Thank god I am bit at work today anyway!
