Beans and cheese on toast is amaaaaaazing preggo food!

I bought a toastie maker in tesco so I can have cheese and beans toasties. Mmmmmmmmm

I need a nap already.

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 13:07

Well I've not had it on anything yet but I did, out of excitement that he'd got me some, stick my finger in the jar for a taste, think I like it Smile Almost time for lunch so will try it properly then.

Cheesy beans on toast is the best Smile

broodysnoopstie · 01/06/2014 13:22

All good suggestions thanks ladies.. I can say I'm hungover and up early tomorrow which I am, and get away with buying my first drink and dp the next which are just tonics and then refuse any others as his lovely friends always try and buy me drinks.

poly how terrifying. Thanks And hugs extra horrible when you are tired and emotional.

Also. I love cheese and marmite toasties. In fact I love cheese full stop. I also like chicken and marmite sandwiches. Smile

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 13:25

I love cheese, this might sound disgusting but it's really quite nice, I have cheese in my tomato soup Smile

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 13:40

Not disgusting at all Linda, I love that!

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 13:43

Just had toast, marmite and cheese, was quite good but could have done with some beans too

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 13:45

Cheese in French onion soup is wow! I'm on the hummus right now!

I've just ate that and oh has decided to light the BBQ, would it be wrong to still have a burger? Please say no, lol

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 13:52

Definitely not wrong Linda! DH and I had a big ham roll for lunch and straight after I wanted another but he claimed he was really full (this never happens - he has cereal for pudding after every single meal) which just made me feel like a bottomless pit. Then he had the AUDACITY to cut me up an apple and make me eat it. Where's the cheese in an apple, eh?

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 13:53

Poly I got 2 tubs of olives and a jar of pickled eggs from tesco too. Want me to fling you any?

lindamagoo · 01/06/2014 13:57

Haha fancy now that just isn't fair, lol

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 13:57

I'm standing with my gob open Fancy! Btw a slice of apple goes lovely with a bit of wensleydale!

Completely forgot to tell you all because I'm so flipping knackered and stressed today, I had a dream last night that I went for my scan and I was having twins! Eek I'm not sure we'd have room for 2!

Anyone offer me any advice, opinions or experience on the NT screening? I was thinking I'd have it, then started thinking what's the point? It won't change anything! What are your thoughts?

OP posts:
barmybunting · 01/06/2014 14:50

Goodness Poly, that is terrifying! I am glad he is ok!

Re the NT scan/tests, we had it done as we wanted to know and be more prepared for any health issues it might show up. We are using the 20 week scan as the same thing. Everyone has their own thoughts on what they'd do if it is not the best news, but we wanted to know. I have taught a number of children with a variety of additional needs such as Down's syndrome, and after speaking to various parents of those children, I got the impression that knowledge is helpful before little one arrives, and I like to plan, so it was important for us to know before hand.

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 14:59

I'm just concerned that if it came back high risk it will just be more to get stressed about when it doesn't give you a defiant yes/no. I originally said the same as you, about being prepared but now I'm unsure. Can you have the nt scan then decide whether to have the blood test or are you tied in for both?

OP posts:
fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 15:05

I didn't realise there was a choice. My scan letter just said "Your NT scan is booked for..." etc
Am I talking about the right thing?

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 15:06

Yes Fancy it's the same time as your dating scan, they will ask you on the day if you want the nt or not.

OP posts:
barmybunting · 01/06/2014 15:06

I can understand that. I have to be honest and say I was worried about that until we got our results through and a very low risk, but I don't know how I would have felt had it been high, but without a defiant yes. My scan was first, then I met a midwife and she talked it through with us and asked if we wanted blood tests for the combined results, so I would presume you could say no at that point and still have the scan. I certainly got that impression from her anyway. A number of people on the Nov antenatal thread have had the nifty or harmony test done for more definite results, would you prefer that? It seems very expensive wherever you have it done though.

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 15:07

Ohhhhhh okay.

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 15:15

I didn't have the test with DS but I thought I'd want it this time but I don't. But I'm worried that if I don't then I'll be worried for 6 months but if I do I might be worried for 6 months anyway. I also know someone who came back low risk and had a beautiful DS little girl.

I wouldn't pay for the harmony test I don't think. I did look into it when I was having trouble getting my appointment. It's expensive Shock

OP posts:
fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 15:18

I think I'll get the NT done then if it comes back high look into nifty or harmony.
I know exactly what you mean though Poly about it increasing the worry if it's high but with no answer.

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 15:19

I really don't fancy an amnio either!

OP posts:
PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 15:22

My DM was 37 when she had my little bro and she was told she had to have an amnio to test for down's. Shocking really that she didn't get a choice!

OP posts:
fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 15:23

You need to educate me again. I know what an amnio test is but does that only happen if you're high risk?

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 15:27

You have the choice of an amnio or a CVS, to just carry on knowing you are high risk or to have a termination.
