Ok brill. Might be a bit too early now but it will definitely be in the pipeline! All ready to go for the first babies - Sazzle and Munday!

How easy is it to move a dating scan forward a few days do you think? Mine is on a Monday and on that weekend before there's a big gathering with friends where traditionally everyone camps over etc. Don't think driving will be possible and no other excuse for not drinking will cut it with this lot and they're already getting on my back about being lame and boring at the moment. I'll be 12 weeks too so if I'm even the slightest bit bigger than I am now then hiding it might be difficult. It would just be so much easier to tell them then. Sorry, pointless rant. I just hate having to keep this secret now!!

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 19:10

I know how you feel Fancy, it's been a nightmare telling lies all of the time. I can't wait for Friday. I have no idea about moving the scan though. Hope you can get it sorted. If not you should just tell them anyway. There isn't a high likelihood of things not being ok at your scan.

Fancy, I had to move my dating scan forward a couple of days and it wasn't a problem at all. I just said it was because I couldn't get any time off work that week because I was taking my class on a residential trip. (This was a lie, I have to admit, it was DH who couldn't get the time off but I thought they might be funny about changing it for that.) Just phone and ask if you can change the day, I don't imagine it will be a problem. Do it soon though as it will be harder to get an earlier appointment the closer you leave it.

Retro, I don't envy you with the start of term and a new house to sort! I am dreading going back to school tomorrow, I really can't be bothered. Not because I mind going back to the actual teaching part, it is the 2 hour plus commute each day that I dread! Anyway, 7 1/2 weeks to go and that's me as I am not going back after the summer, yay!

What about some re or pshe tomorrow afternoon and a bit of practical maths in there somewhere about measuring? What year do you teach? My class are "designing a game which helps develop time table knowledge" tomorrow for maths... Ie. also doing non written maths so I can get some reports finished and risk assessment etc for a trip.

Poly, are you going to worry if you don't get the NT tests done? If you are, I would personally get it done and deal with next steps, if needed, when you get your results. If you can cope with not knowing, don't get them done. What do you want to do about other checks at 20 week scan at this stage or are you not thinking that far ahead yet?

RetroHippy · 01/06/2014 19:43

barmy, that's hilarious, I was thinking about doing the times table game thing myself Grin Start them off filling in a multiplication square, then make a different game per table then swap. Great minds hey?!

And we are actually meant to do SEAL on a Monday, barely got any done last half term so in need of a catch up... There's loads we can do when you get into it!

Thankfully reports are done, so at least I don't have that to think about. Going to tell my TA tomorrow; exciting and scary!

RetroHippy · 01/06/2014 19:45

Oh, and I have Y4. Gaining independence, but still need a lot of leading. I'm going to chop up card into... Well... Cards, and specify it has to be a card game they make.

barmybunting · 01/06/2014 19:48

Sounds like a good plan! I have Y4 too, sounds like multiplication games and SEAL are the way to go! It's amazing the things that get pushed and pushed on until you finally get the time to catch up on them :).

barmybunting · 01/06/2014 19:49

Ps. Please can I tell you how insanely envious I am that your reports are done!! Well done :).

Enjoy telling your TA tomorrow!

CallingAllEngels · 01/06/2014 20:42

taking the books for a lovely ride Smile fancy

So I've been doing a good turn over the last few weeks Grin

I've been trying to crack my mountain of marking this weekend. Managed just over half of it today but only because DH took DS out for the day. Still reports and end of years tests to come in the next month.

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 20:45

Barmy I did have the test with DS and I don't remember losing any sleep over it. I have no reason to think there will be a problem so I think I might be ok.

I will go for the anomaly scan at 20 wks and I have to go for a more in depth scan with foetal ECG at 22 weeks because I have an increased risk of having a baby with a heart defect or brain and spinal cord abnormalities. It's really best to get this done so that if baby needs medical intervention they are prepared. Scary as hell though.

We will be here for hand holding as needed Poly. Hard going to wait though!

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 21:04

All I keep thinking is my first LO was a complete fighter. They told me at 4 wks not to expect the pg to progress and I'd probably start bleeding in the next few days. I worried for 7 months solid and went through hell but he was perfect and very strong just like I knew he would be. He's still amazing now Smile Thanks for the support x

CallingAllEngels · 01/06/2014 21:06

Missed all the nt talk. We didn't do it with ds and aren't doing it this time either.

barmybunting · 01/06/2014 21:24

Your DS sounds like a little star Poly! You must be very proud of him.

Calling, do you have your dating scan at the normal time just without the NT stuff then?

PolytheneGirl · 01/06/2014 21:28

I am Grin although today he slightly embarrassed me by insisting on wearing his cycle helmet all day which included getting the bus to my parents'. He looked very special on the number 16! He is my pride and joy. Grin

RetroHippy · 01/06/2014 22:52

I am a balloon woman! A stinky balloon woman Grin I am repulsing myself Envy

Tonight my belly looks more 6 months than 6 weeks. It's all gas!

barmy we need to share y4 Preggo tired day tricks Wink

MademoiselleG · 01/06/2014 23:02

So the mw I saw today (turns out I had my booking in appointment today: had a 'reminder' text message -which broke the news- yesterday and thankfully was able to make it!) and she reckons that all of us craving vinegary / savoury / pickle type stuff are definitely having boys, whilst the bland / white food crew are having girls Grin ! She might be right as far as I'm concerned: I was definitely I bland food pg with dd and have completely different symptoms and food aversions this time round!
She also recommended made me promise to go for a scan at the EPU first thing tomorrow morning advice had light spotting. I didn't really worry about it until I told her as I'd had loads last time round but she was adamant I should get it checked. I thought of you linda , I hope you are better now? Anyway, so I'm going to be bunking school already on the first day back! Niiiiiice...Shock

Dd is in her 'big girl bed' for the first time tonight...shed a little tear at how fast she's growing up just now as I checked on her...

fancyacupoftea · 01/06/2014 23:41

Midwife on a Sunday? Whatever next eh?! That's good though and hope everything is fine tomorrow and you get a cheeky scan out of it!

retro if you're anything like me, get used to that belly - it's here to stay!

RetroHippy · 02/06/2014 07:39

Haha, time to crack out the fat pants! Turns out I should have taken my 'before' photos last week when I had the impressive rack without the morning pot belly Grin

Tilly28 · 02/06/2014 07:46

Oooh mademoiselle glad your booking in went well, hope the scan is all ok today! The first call I got from my midwife was on a Sunday I was so surprised but guess it's not a mon-fri job. Iv got my booking in appointment today at 9.30, very excited as it's making it seem so real.

That's interesting about the fod cravings, I have a feeling mines a boy and iv been eating loads of salt and vinegar crisp (never normally have them) and eating more meat!!! Maybe I'm right!

I wish the 12 week scan would hurry up, mines the 20th and it just still seems ages away, 17 days and counting. It would seem next year there is going to be a shortage of year 4 teacher as I also teach year 4!! Haha! :-)

lindamagoo · 02/06/2014 07:48

Made how did dd sleep in her big girl bed? I'm fine thank you, only had a few tiny spots of bleeding and no pains Smile
