star, the slugs leave my mint alone. The caterpillars decimate it.

haquoi123 · 25/05/2014 09:14

I completely agree with you Calling. I'm prone to anxiety and I've seen the bad effects it can have on both Mother and child, as well as the entire family. I reckon that keeping my stress levels down is the best thing I personally can do for my kid and my relationship! So I'm trying not to worry about can and can't.

haquoi123 · 25/05/2014 09:17

Although yesterday I did miss wine and had a hunt For non alcoholic. And it is kind of fun learning all this new stuff. But I agree that it should be a choice :) and no stress!

Retro - NHS says smoked salmon and trout is fine!

Morning all! I'd honestly not bother with alcohol free wine. Got some from waitrose -so assumed it would be nice!- and it really just tastes like off grape juice: sparkly but bad-sparkly, sweet but bad-sweet and just generally horrendous. The only positive is that it looks VERY realistic, but you'd be caught out by unsuspecting friends just from the look on your face and the immediate retching !
I tried that Carlsberg lime yesterday and it's not too bad -2% so not alcohol free as such but ok. I'm feeling so rotten at the moment though that I don't even fancy it! Sparkling water and freshly squeezed lime seems to be my favourite thing.

And madrigals it sounds like you might be having a girl if symptoms are so different from ds?Wink

saras somehow I'm now convinced you're having multiples Grin

haquoi123 · 25/05/2014 09:26

Thanks for the warning made! Quite glad I didn't find any now :)

RetroHippy · 25/05/2014 09:27

Thanks English! It's on the shopping list (with bagels and cream cheese, yum!)

lindamagoo · 25/05/2014 09:28

Thanks for that Made, I'm also glad I didn't find any now. My try and find some lager to try instead

MademoiselleG · 25/05/2014 09:34

The lager is ok...until you taste real one again Wink

MademoiselleG · 25/05/2014 09:35

Not missing alcohol at all, as you can see...Wink

cheshirem2b · 25/05/2014 09:39

I find the Bavaria alc free beer is ok... The shandy is nice on a hot sunny day (like last weekend) but alc free wine is vile! Yuk!

We had a chilled out day yesterday... Just went to B&Q to get paint and wallpaper. We moved in to a new build almost 12m ago and it's time to decorate... After 12w though!

DH wants to go out this afternoon, not sure where?! What is everyone else up to today? We're out watching Miles Jupp tomorrow evening! Hurray!

lindamagoo · 25/05/2014 09:42

We are off to a birthday party at bongos soft play area today, not looking forward to all the noise but the kids will have a ball

Starbright24 · 25/05/2014 09:43

I used to drink regularly but not heavily. Not really been too bothered that I can't drink. Will see how long that lasts with weather getting warmer. My favourite drink is just cold tap water - how boring but I'm drinking loads of it.
was very worried that I didn't have symptoms this morning - that was 2 minutes before I had to run to the bathroom. Now it looks like another day mooching on the sofa.

haquoi123 · 25/05/2014 10:19

I'm taking it easy and working from my bed. Get it all out of the way before the excitement of half term! Might sample the sun at some point.

It's also our 1st year anniversary tomorrow!

CallingAllEngels · 25/05/2014 10:29

Spent all day out in the garden yesterday working so today is a sofa day!

Need a new thread soon ladies!

cheshirem2b · 25/05/2014 10:38

You lucky ladies talking of sunshine... It's rained here in Cheshire from 10am-9pm yesterday and just started again! Sad

RetroHippy · 25/05/2014 10:39

I had a lazy day yesterday. Today the reality of moving house on Friday is kicking in! Need to get my ass in gear Grin

lindamagoo · 25/05/2014 10:45

It's rained non-stop here since yesterday evening, depressing weather Hmm

MrsMcG14 · 25/05/2014 10:46

Hi Just thought I'd say good morning. 8 weeks gone and itching to tell folk! Baby due 3 January, super excited Smile as we have been ttc for a long time now.

In terms of ms there's been no vomiting but constant nausea! Lovely!

This is a whole new world and glad there are these chats esp as I've been trying to be super secretive! Not sure how long that's going to last!

j200 · 25/05/2014 11:55

Morning all! On way to wedding today, was really looking fwd to it as like a mini school reunion but feel horrendous and just want to sleep Hmm luckily hotel is close by and so will drive and make an early exit if I need to!

Re food- I am not obsessive, eating runny British lion poached eggs, smoked salmon, prawns etc as salmonella can't hurt baby. To reassure you most people are actually already immune to toxoplasmosis too- my best friend is a Dr and been pregnant twice so ask her everything! I am still scared of a missed miscarriage though but will hopefully feel better after scan at 8+1 next week

Have a good Sunday all!

fancyacupoftea · 25/05/2014 12:23

Anyone on a laptop and can set the next thread up? Would be good to put the editable stats on there (from post 2 of this thread, not post 1). I'd do it but on my phone so no idea how to set a thread up or access the stats. Would also be good to put a link here so people can find where we've moved to!
Gosh I really am just giving my orders out aren't I. Sorry, born teacher!

New thread ladies :) we are a chatty bunch. It would be lovely to keep this support going over the next 8 months and then beyond.

Portobelly · 30/05/2014 13:16

Hello. I'm new to this. Due at the start of January, our first. So hope it's ok to join you

Portobelly · 30/05/2014 13:41

Hello hequoi. We're in a similar boat. I'm a self employed designer, so am also worried about life without maternity pay etc. But my husband and I both have flexible working patterns and my mum.... So that's all good.

But hadn't realised how much heavy lifting I do routinely, and what a ball ache it is to plan for other people to carry the construction materials I work with. Didn't realise that pregnancy would affect work so instantaneously.
Anyway.
