A new thread already! I'm eating loads too fancy hoping I can keep morning sickness away as iv got a terrible phobia of sick so really nervous about that. I feel like I'm putting on weight already though!!! Eeeek going to be a whale, seriously think if all is well at my scan at the weekend when il be 7 weeks I might have to go and buy some new work trousers with a stretchy waste as mine are uncomfortable already (because of the bloat!)

fancyacupoftea · 13/05/2014 20:28

Yeah I look pregnant already - having to wear baggy, long tops to cover the bloat but it just looks more like I'm hiding something. Just mega-bloat! The constipation along with the eating isn't helping things either.

Lovely new thread. Nausea seems to drop when I'm busy or eating. Last time all food smells made me feel sick at this stage.

DH will come with me for booking in as it's also when we get 10w scan.

I've spent the whole day walking and cycling on a trip with year 11 and now exhausted!

j200 · 13/05/2014 20:51

Hooray new thread! No sickness for me yet, will keep you all posted on my scan tomorrow... Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight unlike nightmares last night

Brummiegirl15 · 13/05/2014 20:59

Oh my god. I need to join this thread. I'm pregnant. 2nd cycle #TTC1.

Stunned and shocked. I'm 37 - how did it happen so quickly???!!!!

EDD around 27th Jan.

What do I do now?????? Do I call doctors or midwife? What do do now??!!!

This is a huge shock, you can probably tell

Scoops76 · 13/05/2014 21:00

Gingy - thinking of you x

Am tLking hubby to early scan next sat but not to me appt - sounds like he would be a bit of a spare part at that one !! Hormones have definitely kicked in today - very tempted to do serious harm to a number of people in my office today - dh says I have lost my sense of humour - ops ;)

Scoops76 · 13/05/2014 21:02

Brimmiegirl - congrats and welcome! I am 37 too with my first after (a lot) of ivf treatment - all a bit of shock when that line actually appears isn't it!! I went to the docs few days after finding out and then they sort the midwife and 12 wk scan for you

rumisyum · 13/05/2014 21:14

Well, we made quick work of the first thread! Thanks for the new one fancy.

Welcome, new joiners! Brummie that sense of shock feels familiar. Grin I still don't think it's sunk for me, a week later!

All those talking about being a bit grumpy/bitchy - I think that must have been my first symptom. For a couple weeks now the husband has been remarking on how incredibly grumpy I've been & how I've lost my sense of humour. Gotta love the hormones that make you mean. Wink

fancy I have also been feeling pretty hungry & eating a lot. I'm trying to stick to healthy things, but eh. I'm bound to start looking porky quite soon. I'm just hoping it will all balance out in the end.

My husband announced this evening that he wanted to come with me just to the first GP appt. Seems like he'll definitely be a keen bean for coming along to the MW booking in one, then. Good to know they'll have him.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow j200.

Right, following lots of you off to bed. Let's see what weird dreams tonight brings me.

lindamagoo · 13/05/2014 21:15

Welcome to the other side Brummie and congrats Thanks I was 37 when I got pregnant the first time, almost 43 now and on baby #3 Smile

Re: toxic colleague, the trouble is that this year, I am her line manager, but next year due to fucked-up boss, she will be mine, as she is applying for my job (which I am only doing as 'acting'. Head won't consider my application for said job unless I accept a full time post. I am of course not against full-time per se, quite the opposite, but as all teachers on here will know, working Mon-Fri means that w/e are spent planning and marking. So I accepted to have a day/week off (unpaid of course) so I could catch up with dd and get marking/planning done in the hope to have w/e off. In other jobs, this is sometimes referred to as the elusive "working from home".... Anyway. Long story short: avoidance NOT an option as we have to do handover, plan for next year etc etc etc... I am thinking voodoo doll.

MademoiselleG · 13/05/2014 21:18

Ahhh ranty Mc rantersome! Sorry guys...

Off to bed. Fx for dreams like yours linda, hahaha!

lindamagoo · 13/05/2014 21:20

Please don't steal my dirty dreams, lol

Starbright24 · 13/05/2014 21:24

Welcome Brummie girl...38 and on #1 for me Grin
Think I'm getting a bit grumpy too as came home from work and straight away got into an argument with oh.
He came to my first doctors appointment with me but it was only cos we were supposed to be getting our fertility results back and he wanted to know how his swimmers were - never mind the fact that I had several positives.
Doubt whether he'll come to mw...we will see.

sleepisforthetired · 13/05/2014 21:31

Hi all - just place marking so I don't lose the thread!

My, that first one went fast! :)

Monstamio · 13/05/2014 21:33

Marking place... can't believe we're on thread two already! Feeling decidedly pukey but trying to keep my mind off it with Midsomer Murders Hmm

DulcetMoans · 13/05/2014 21:41

Marking place too. Added self to spreadsheet.

Doctors yesterday where they refer to midwife. She said not to expect to hear anything until next month though so will see where we get to. Funny how it's so different everywhere!

Marking my place too. Booked app with mw today but not for 4 weeks! Tick tock!

fancyacupoftea · 13/05/2014 21:45

I'M KNITTING A BABY BLANKET.

It's a disaster so far. I was not cut out to "do crafts".

Mademoiselle it looks like you have only one option then. Kill her.

Welcome Brummiegirl! Don't worry, the stunned feeling won't last for long. It will soon turn into panic and anxiety like the rest of us poor sods.

Good luck for the scan j200!

Oh, and I have toast in my bra. The perils of combining my two current favourite things: eating and lying down.

deuscat · 13/05/2014 22:01

gingy so sorry. Take care of yourself these next few days.

Welcome to newbies.

I'm not taking DH to the midwife appt. I hadn't even considered it but it's difficult for him to get time off work and I think the appointment is mainly form filling in and basic health checks. He will definitely be coming to the 12wk dating scan.

j200 good luck for your early scan tomorrow.

5+3 and my symptoms are still just sore boobs, constipation and bloating. I've also started to get backache and I'm a bit crampy at times. No real nausea or sickness yet Wink

New thread!!
Welcome and congratulations to any newbies!! Smile

Went for sushi tonight - had to give the game away because I couldn't actually eat any of the good stuff. Stuck to cooked dished. Not quite the same, but hey ho. Was nice to share the news, they're friends I won't be seeing very often once we've moved back so was nice to share - they were really excited for us!

EnglishGirlAbroad · 13/05/2014 22:18

I've got an appointment with dr on tuesday, DH wil be coming with as it was initially to discuss fertility tests. That and I think i'll need some support as will be asking for an early scan after my previous mc.

MademoiselleG · 13/05/2014 22:22

fancy , I knitted a blanket last time round...it was ready just before dd's 18 month birthday!! Hope you're more successful than I am Wink
