English I'm avoiding those things too although DH is away for five weeks so it makes one of them easier to avoid Wink

lindamagoo · 23/05/2014 07:36

Oh glen I hope everything goes ok at your scan this morning. Big hugs to you Thanks

So we braved it and dtd last night. I was a bit worried incase I started bleeding because of the polyp or incase there was any pain but all went well so I'm a bit more relaxed about things now Smile

EnglishGirlsReturned · 23/05/2014 07:49

Well done on DTD Linda... Hats of to you!
I know it's irrational but I want to avoid all risks! No matter how small the risk is!

cheshirem2b · 23/05/2014 07:49

Glen I hope everything hoes ok today! Thanks

cheshirem2b · 23/05/2014 07:50

Hoes = goes... Predictive text error!

haquoi123 · 23/05/2014 07:56

Glen, so sorry you had to go through that! I've got my fx for you xxx

I'm continuing my yoga classes and have told my teacher and am also continuing running (I'm a beginner and not very good, mind!) My body tends to be in loads of pain if I don't exercise regularly (took me 25 Yeats to realise this!) so I'm keeping going.

Sex so far is mind blowing but I do get cramps after...

Dec2013mummy · 23/05/2014 07:58

I agree.... I can't face if either!! When I had a miscarriage I had the night before and so now it just scares me. Luckily Dh feels the same so just lots of cuddles for us!!

RPopz · 23/05/2014 07:58

Poor you Glen that sounds horrendous! Everything crossed for you and your sticky bean xxx

Most exercise I ever get is walking the dog and I've kept that up so far! We've braved sex once and it was gooood.... so might have to carry on ;-)

lindamagoo · 23/05/2014 08:03

haq I was a little crampy afterwards but not too bad. I have to say it was a lot more emmm sensitive down there than I expected aswell, will most defo be making the most of it before I get too big to enjoy it anymore, lol

Ikkleme · 23/05/2014 08:15

I've been reading this thread on an off but could do with some reassurance for today.
Basically I'm at a wedding all day and worried about the following:

Ms starting midway through the service (haven't had any as of yet)
My excuse for lack of drinking is I'm recovering from a chest infection and on antibiotics
Last one is a bit paranoid, I've noticed on here a lot of people have been getting bleeding 5/6 weeks - this is what I am and I'm wearing a light coloured skirt and really don't want a embarrassing moment in front of DP family

Any guidance appreciated xx

EnglishGirlsReturned · 23/05/2014 08:24

Hi Ickle! Firstly try to relax and enjoy the day. I'm sure ms won't kick in today, it'd be pretty bad luck! Secondly there's no reason why all of a sudden you should start spotting, if you're worried wear a liner and keep some in your bag.
And with the drinking can you just sneakily order something that looks like it could be alcoholic? Like a lemonade? And if people offer you a drink just politely turn it down. Or say you've got bit of a headache? Hope you have a lovely day Smile

Dec2013mummy · 23/05/2014 08:48

Sorry glen I somehow missed your post. Good luck for today, I have everything crossed for you.

MademoiselleG · 23/05/2014 09:10

Oh Glenpip !! How awful! I have everything crossed and crossed again for you...

Ikkleme , don't worry about m/s or spotting, especially if you haven't had any signs of either yet! Re: m/s especially, I wouldn't expect it to be so sudden and so unbearable. Mostly, it tends to be waves of queasiness that, although terribly unpleasant, are usually kind of manageable for a short of amount of time.
Re: drinking, I always think it's easier at big functions like this because you don't hang out with the same people all the time, so you could even be drinking water and just say that you're having a little break as you want to last all day and already had quite a few drinks!

I'm going to a boozy dinner Saturday and a boozy lunch Monday. We live in London so can't use the excuse that I am driving...I might just drink a teeny tiny little bit and say that I am not drinking too much as we are trying?

Thinking of you all scanning today and praying for healthy little babies Thanks

gingysmummy · 23/05/2014 09:18

Thinking about you glen fx for good news
I've hed some bleeding today tmi when i wiped it was like mucus with red streaks. My af is due around now don't know if it could be related? trying not to worry i'll phone epu if it gets worse but in this area it's about a weeks wait!
I'm away camping in my friends woods tomorrow so hoping it stops,i'm not roughing it though i'll be in my campervan with my ds.
Good luck for all the scans today

MelMc73 · 23/05/2014 09:29

Sorry....been awol for a couple of days and just caught up on the thread.

Glen sorry to hear of your trauma last night and fx that the scan goes well this morning.

On the subject of exercise I decided just to continue as normal if I feel up to it. Before BFP I was going to classes at the gym 4 or 5 times a week. I've managed a couple a week since then as felt really tired/headaches etc. I've got Jillian's 30 DS DVD at home as well and also some kettlercise DVD's so I'll be getting straight onto them after bambino arrives lol. Sticking to Body Pump and spin classes for now though.

DTD??? Whats that again?! Not done that since got BFP.....poor DH is being very patient though. I just don't feel like it at all Sad

English I hope you are feeling more positive about the scan situation today

I'm really feeling for all you ladies with ms......so glad I've been okay so far. Just a little nauseous from time to time but the ginger tea is helping as are the ginger nuts! Acidic food like fruit seems to make me queasy after eating it......strange!

Monstamio · 23/05/2014 09:49

Sorry to hear about your horrendous night Glenpip. Keeping everything crossed for you today.

Also sorry to hear you're feeling down about things English. I hate those middle of the night stress sessions. Everything always seems so much worse then, so hope things look a bit rosier this morning.

I've now been sick two mornings running before breakfast so it looks like I haven't escaped MS after all. Boo. Thought I'd just get away with nausea this time but it's not to be. Hey ho - nothing like what Saraswati and others are battling though.

Also, exercise?? Wow, hats off to anyone who is keeping that up. I'm pretty lazy at the best of times but so unbelievably knackered at the moment that the very thought of exercise makes me want to go for a snooze!

Ikkleme I haven't had any spotting at all, so there's no reason you should get any. And if you do it won't be a flood. But if you're worried then wear a liner as others have suggested. I also agree that people are less likely to notice the not drinking that you would think. The main bit when you might get caught out is over dinner if wine is served and during the toasts - so save your excuse for then. In terms of MS - again no reason for it to kick in at that particular moment, but best way to stave it off in the early stages is to make sure you don't get too hungry, so have a snack before you go in.

On a more mundane note, I appear to have been locked out of my phone app and can't get back in. I've even tried deleting and reinstalling it. Really odd. Anyone else had this problem?

Dec2013mummy · 23/05/2014 10:19

Sorry to hear other peoples ms has kicked in. Went to see the dr yesterday and even she said to me well we call all but hope it's not like last time!! She knows me too well because of the amount of times I was in, also Ds was very poorly for the first 3 and a half months so she said she hoped she wouldn't have to see the same again! Think I have cost them a small fortune to be fair! So far this time I've only been sick a few times a day but the constant nausea is driving me mad!!

Glenpip77 · 23/05/2014 11:49

Scan confirmed that this was a miscarriage that is almost complete. Not what we were hoping, but not a huge shock either. Fingers crossed we will have better luck next time.

Wishing you all the best with happy and healthy pregnancies xx

EnglishGirlsReturned · 23/05/2014 11:52

Oh Glenpip, I'm so sorry! Take some time to look after yourself and grieve. Sending you big hugs. xx
