The problem with goibg back to sleep after having ms at 5.30 is that you get it all over again when you wake a second time :(

J200..you made me paranoid then as I ate feta last week! But phew! It's safe just going to double check

sunshineandbiscuits · 24/05/2014 09:01

So sorry to hear about your mc, brummiegirl and glenpip Thanks We are all rooting for you, fx for a sticky bean very soon.

j200 - I also have fluctuating symptoms. I'm obviously allergic to Mondays, as I keep getting really bad ms then! And yet I was panicking on Thursday as I didn't have any symptoms at all. It seems to be different every day. My GP said not to worry about it at all.

I cycle 20 minutes to work every morning, and I find that really helps with the ms. However sick I am feeling when I leave the house, I'm always feeling much better after the exercise and fresh air. Does anyone else find this?

On the work topic, my boss knew we were trying because I needed time off at short notice for the IUI. He's known I'm pregnant nearly as long as our parents have! I'm an engineer and work in a predominantly male environment, so was quite worried about how he would react, but he's been fantastic and super supportive. :-)

Pesto11 · 24/05/2014 09:51

It's really great to hear of a supportive boss!
My school headteachers works with kids everyday but doesn't seem to like pregnant staff!!!

I feel queasy every morning but haven't been sick
Also get a lot of cramping after morning wee. Not sure what it all means but I have my booking appt this Friday so hoping she 'll put my kind at rest...

Saraswati · 24/05/2014 10:45

Morning all, sorry to hear more of you are suffering now. The cyclizine makes me really drowsy, slept until 9.30am this morning :o totally unheard of for me pregnant or not. Although that did involve a 2am vom run so not a complete success.

I'm doing nothing but sleeping this weekend and I'm so excited, any of you got nice plans?

One week today until my scan, dreamt last night it was triplets but one had died.

My job is on contract ( will totally out myself if I say what I do there's not many of us!) so I'm hoping to work until Christmas if I'm healthy then not go back. I'm eligible for maternity allowance (same as SMP financially) and we can easily live off DHs wages so it's not a worry. I can't wait to be a SAHM to be honest. My plan at the moment is to train as a yoga teacher when I stop breast feeding and start my own business which I could fit around the baby and DHs hours so we wouldn't have any child care costs. The training is one weekend a month for a year so I would hope I can do it by the time the baby is 2 and that could fit around having no.2 as well (although there will be no no.2 if this ms doesn't piss off!)

sunshineandbiscuits · 24/05/2014 11:04

saraswati, your yoga teacher training plans are sooo exciting!! What type of yoga do you do? Please start teaching near me Grin

Saraswati · 24/05/2014 11:11

Thanks sunshine I've been thinking about it for ages and it'll just fit so well around a family that now is the right time. At the moment I do hot yoga and ashtanga but I think I'll do a hatha yoga course as I think I'd get more students with that style. I'd love to do pregnancy and baby yoga too once I've experienced it all myself! One day I'd love to open my own studio/health food shop/veggie cafe, that's my little dream! Where do you live?

sunshineandbiscuits · 24/05/2014 11:17

I live in Cambridge. I do lots of ashtanga, although not for the past few weeks :-) I need to find some new types of yoga that are a bit more compatible with pregnancy. I'm not sure I'll manage 9 months without any yoga at all. Where do you live? I would TOTALLY come to your studio/veggie cafe :-)

Starbright24 · 24/05/2014 11:27

Aww...just got yoga video through post and it says not to do till 14 weeks. I thought I'd checked it out before and it was ok to do earlier. Oh well. I'll just have to continue to blob.
been feeling bleurgh all morning. ..had a cuppa tea - miracle! All gone...for at least 10 mins lol.

Saraswati · 24/05/2014 11:36

sunshine thanks! But I'm in berkshire so pretty far from Cambridge :( I'm missing yoga so much, feeling very crazy and blob like without it. I know they say continue what you normally do in the first tri but I'm pretty sure that doesn't include hot/ashtanga yoga, it's a bit hardcore. I think I would throw up everywhere if I tried! Shiva rea's pregnancy DVD is supposed to be good and my ashtanga teacher does pregnancy yoga so I can't wait to get started when I get to the second tri. I think most styles are compatible with adjustments, you just need a qualified teacher, does your ashtanga place offer any?

sunshineandbiscuits · 24/05/2014 13:05

My ashtanga teacher told me that while other styles are fine for the first trimester, ashtanga isn't, and I should switch to pregnancy yoga straightaway. I assume the same applies to hot yoga. My studio does offer a few pregnancy yoga classes, but I haven't tried them out yet. I'm missing it like crazy though! saraswati, do let me know if you find anything that works for you.

Parents-in-law just popped in on the way back from holiday. MIL is super-excited, and we're having to restrain her from immediately going out and buying all the baby clothes in the world. DW is an only child, so this will be her first grandchild - she is definitely a frustrated grandmother. Smile

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 24/05/2014 13:09

Hi everyone . Sorry to hear more of you are suffering! I am today.

Saras - your yoga teaching sounds amazing :) (glad your ms is getting better )

PassTheAnswers · 24/05/2014 15:23

Sorry glen and brummie.

Just had an appt through for a NHS scan. We think I might e around 7-8 weeks so it's earlier than last time presumably as a result of me not having much of a clue. I'm assuming that's my 10-12 week dating scan.

I'm only a year on from having an emcs- is the scar likely to cause any problems during this pregnancy or just something they will monitor carefully.

I'm sooo bloated!

cheshirem2b · 24/05/2014 16:55

I'm waiting for my letter to book my 12week scan... 4weeks to go!
Mum wanted to go window shopping in mothercare today! Bumped in to my bf with her 12m old and suddenly hit me... I'm having a real baby!
Having a chill out afternoon on the sofa now... Well it's raining so may as well chill out!
Hope everyone is having a fun weekend!

lindamagoo · 24/05/2014 17:45

Just went round all our local shops to try and get some non-alcoholic lager or wine and not one shop has any Angry

Happyday24 · 24/05/2014 18:03

Pesto11 I had to tell my head teacher at 6 wks because a member of staff is leaving and they were doing to 'next year' talks early. I am glad I did, as their original plan was to move me to Y6 and I was really hoping to stay in my current class (to avoid the moving of classrooms/ starting again with planning etc).

Luckily, SLT came back to me and said I would stay in my class as they didn't want a mat leave in Y6. I am similar dates to you and I am also pondering when to go on Mat leave (all going well). Am thinking early Dec as I've got a notorious class in Sept and not looking forward to the battle and impending ofsted visit!

When do you officially have to say when you are going to finish?

Starbright24 · 24/05/2014 18:12

It's at least 15 weeks before maternity leave...so of you are going off in jan then it'd be September sometime. I guess if you want earlier then you would have to let them know towards the end of the summer term. Think there's forms and things.

I'm watching my new pilates dvd which is supposed to be used at any trimester. Doing the odd little bit but too scared to do something wrong. So much for doing some excercise this half term.

EnglishGirlsReturned · 24/05/2014 18:50

Hey Ladies!!

I had my first day back working in the UK today! I've gone back to my old salon and absolutely loved being back!! Completely took my mind off the scan worry! Had 2 massages in, had to use preggo safe oils - unbeknown to the clients! Was lovely to see my old clients and colleagues! But shattered now!!

Don't know what I'm goin to be able to do about SMP - I don't think I'll qualify, but depends on how far along I actually am. Need to investigate. May be able to get maternity allowance.

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 24/05/2014 19:15

linda really!? Where do you live woman?! Haha

RetroHippy · 24/05/2014 19:19

linda, I'm drinking a lot of Aldi Ginger beer. Feels quite grown up even though it's still pop

I don't really like schloer or typical booze substitutes as they are too sweet and I'm a red wine / beer drinker. Need to find some suitable mocktails to make myself.

lindamagoo · 24/05/2014 19:26

KeepOn I live in a town that clearly only caters for drunks, lol.

Oh god retro I miss my red wine Hmm the woman in the bottle shop tried to fob me off with schloer but I don't like it.

RetroHippy · 24/05/2014 19:29

It's mingling isn't it? Like lemonade in a 'grown-up' bottle. But more chemically. Yuk.

I forsee a lot of cranberry juice being consumed. Anyone know if I'm ok to have grapefruit/pineapple juices? Got a carton of each left over from my ewcm / implantation experiments.

KeepOnKeepingOnAndOnAndOnAndOn · 24/05/2014 19:57

I hate schloer too!
Ah I see linda ... I too live in the arsehole of nowhere hahahh

RetroHippy · 24/05/2014 20:28

Mwah ha ha, I'm eating shop bought hummus. Don't tell DH it's on some Google 'no' lists. He's insistent I'm not allowed even lion marked runny eggs, and is being incredibly annoying already with his idea of 'over exertion'.

Loobyloo893 · 24/05/2014 20:30

Really? Why no hummus?
