My 22+4wk bump is growing nicely!

New dress I got from work yesterday certainly isn't hiding it!

October 2014 - thread 6 - BLUE/PINK/YELLOW the finding out begins!!!
magichandles · 30/05/2014 09:40

Bump - I got a full refund for my NCT classes as DD arrived the week before they were due to start - no quibbles at all.

ohthegoats · 30/05/2014 09:45

I thought I'd not bother too much with bras and do those vests with internal support - when at home anyway. Obviously I wouldn't do that to the general public.

ohthegoats · 30/05/2014 09:46

Haha takingchances. I think it must wear off at some point. If the icecream defrosting thing had happened a fortnight ago I'd have been postal by now. Today I just ate it.

fedupofrainydays · 30/05/2014 09:49

Bump watch - This is morning bump and gets much bigger in eve! Can see how I can't pretend at work now!

mum2kiss · 30/05/2014 10:02

goats I used those vests with the internal support with Dd. I liked them in the early days when I had to flop out a boon every 5 mins...I am almost convinced we have the same boyfriend lol! What is with the love of leaving the fridge open?! He also leaves the kitchen bin open when he goes to work with a nice empty tuna can on top...I arrive home a few hours later and can think of nothing else but to murder him in his sleep later that night! He is also waaay too laid back which is why we are doing nct. He thinks it's a ridiculously expensive way to make friends lol!

ohthegoats · 30/05/2014 10:30

mum2kiss - be afraid then. While talking about the doula thing last night, boyfriend said that he wouldn't want to take the word of a doula over a doctor if I was unconscious and unable to make decisions for myself.

a) you haven't quite cottoned on to what a doula is for,
b) I wonder how many women he thinks are unconscious while giving birth, I wasn't planning on it!

c) this is why we I need a doula!

mum2kiss · 30/05/2014 11:24

LOL!!! goats our boyfriends are clearly twins separated at birth! My poor guy doesn't realise that the nct classes are more.for him than me! I've already given birth once without them! He makes comments like "why do I need to come to antenatal classes? I'm not planning on giving birth!" Yes dear...This is exactly why I've booked us on a course

ohthegoats · 30/05/2014 11:41

Would be quite cool to be unconscious from around mid September til Christmas though now I've thought about it. Maybe I'll get planning for that to happen.

mum2kiss · 30/05/2014 12:36

I do recall asking for a general anaesthetic when I was in labour with Dd...They didn't take me Seriously...

mum2kiss · 30/05/2014 12:51

We're off to the new forest for a couple of days...my mum has taken Dd away for the weekend!!! Making the most of it as she probably won't ever offer to take her again! Lol!

Lots of kicks in the last few days but as soon as i put my hand on my tum they stop! Dp is getting very impatient!

tak1ngchances · 30/05/2014 13:08

Oooh mum2 have a lovely time!

YellowWellies · 30/05/2014 13:55

Don't joke if you need a section in a super fast hurray general anaesthetic is an option! On the island they couldn't give spinals or epidurals hence I was desperate to avoid a section as I didn't want to wake up hours later the last to meet my baby - it happened to my DSIL Sad

Happytimes31 · 30/05/2014 14:22

Phew! Lovely scan this morning Smile now got to start accumulating things!

tak1ngchances · 30/05/2014 14:29

Congrats happytimes! Lovin the good scan news

mum2kiss · 30/05/2014 18:02

Oh I was serious at the time yellow !!!

Must have been difficult for your sil to.wake up and find that the baby was already here!

Kirstipops · 30/05/2014 18:46

Aww my star baby wrap arrived today, totally cutiful. Copied you YellowWellies, and got it in the yellow, I love it! Fabby to hear about good scans on here and FB and seeing your baby bumps! DH is back tonight from working down in Milton Keynes all week, I'm a big hormonal softie and can't wait. Need to get cracking on our costumes for our friend's superhero themed 30th bday party tomorrow which I'm ridiculously excited for, my friends tend to go all out...

gunwalloe · 30/05/2014 20:03

On our way back from Cornwall 7 hours in a car when you've got piles isn't fun!
Anyone else suffering with the same?

ohthegoats · 30/05/2014 20:21

So far, so not. Erk.

My friend who said she wished she'd taken pile cream to hospital with her (had the baby in November), has just announced she's had a positive pregnancy test. Blimey...

Grannyapple · 30/05/2014 20:39

20 wk scan pic...team blue!

Grannyapple · 30/05/2014 20:41

Oh my goodness goats...I know how she feels, ha ha! Amelia was 5 months when I found out I was preggo this time...

Loulou888 · 30/05/2014 20:51

My dd was 5 months when I found out I was expecting ds. It's been very hard but they are best friends now. I think that is why I'm now expecting my 3rd to be honest. They grew and went off to school too fast instead of enjoying a few more years with little ones.

gunwalloe I don't envy you hope you can get some relief. I had some horrid painful ones with ds the little lump putting pressure on me. Hoping to not experience it this time around fx. Again pregnancy is so not glamorous.

Me23 · 30/05/2014 20:53

Just checking in, I'm so knakered off to bed in a min same time as my 9 yr old!
I need some time off, work is really tiring right now, I'm just counting down the weeks until maternity leave I'm saving all my annual leave to take before I go on mat leave so I'll be finishing quite early.

LondonJen · 30/05/2014 21:03

Aww lovely bumps and scans Grin

Quick question. Does baby need to come home from hospital in a pram/snow suit? Or as it's mostly in car is that not necessary? Sorry if daft question!

gunwalloe · 30/05/2014 21:09

Congrats Granny did you have any idea you were having a boy?

Thanks loulou

Do pile creams work and are we allowed to use them? I can't believe how much blood they release it scared the life out of me when I got them until I worked out where the blood was coming from
