Hi All, thought I would start a 3rd trimester thread, as most are past 23 weeks now!!!

AQ, have got a couple of lovely skirt from M&S maternity. They seem big though, I went for my pre-pg size and there's still masses of room in them, even though half of my other pg clothes cut me off at the waist already. I'm wondering if a floaty aqua linen skirt and crocs is an okay look for the end of december!!

lucy5 · 15/09/2006 21:00

Hello!

Olihan · 15/09/2006 21:09

Lucy, just posted on your chemist thread, hope you're not feeling too dragged down by the whole thing.

accessorizequeen · 15/09/2006 21:59

Thanks Olihan, think I'll go order now!

Rubystar77 · 15/09/2006 22:15

red lorry-
i also can't look in mirror at night when washing hands incase of scary face or shadow etc....
also was n't planned a close gap with my babys , i had 4 years of treatment, 2 miscarriages and 1 eptopic so when i had daughter i was like no more contraception ever and then bam! 3 and half months later i'm preg again, feel like its been 2 years..
can't wait now, 12 weeks and counting and don't know sex of this one...
any one got heartburn, i had it really bad last preg and just wondering when it kicks in, not got it yet, suppose to be hairy babys?? my daughter had loads of hair...

Elibean · 16/09/2006 08:18

Rubystar, I've had awful heartburn since about 12 weeks - but sadly its more to do with a hiatus hernia (result of pg#1) than anything else
Also, had bad heartburn from 22 weeks with dd, and she had virtually no hair until she was over 12 months...

jabberwocky · 16/09/2006 10:30

Just curious elibean. If you have another section can they fix the hernia at the same time?

spinamum · 16/09/2006 13:36

i've had bad indigestion both times(until I saw my chiroprator-I'm still harping on) My DS didn't have much hair until he was about 12months!

I'm sure crocs and a floaty skirt is perfect December clobber!
I've bought a few bits of maternity clothes on ebay which I'm realy pleased with(mainly get-by-at-work stuff) but it's just dawned on me that I've still got a lot of growing to do and i may have to go on maternity leave early because I've run out of things to wear!(So I'll be in a sarong and flip flops in December)

Elibean · 16/09/2006 15:19

AQ, can't stop wondering how the words go to 'there's a redback on the toilet seat' - am I sad or wot, but I'd really like to know
I remember my Mum telling us to beware redbacks when we lived in Perth a hundred million years ago for a few months!
Jabber, I don't think surgery is recommended at all for hiatus hernias...they have a very low success rate, or so my GP told me. But its a cracking good question, will try and remember to ask my OB about it!

accessorizequeen · 16/09/2006 15:36

It's just one of those tunes that gets in your head! We had a few where we lived, once put my hand in the post-tube (for newspapers) and there was one in there, luckily I think he was asleep. Slim' Newton's classic for Elibean

accessorizequeen · 16/09/2006 15:40

Did y'all realise we've posted 500+ messages in 3 weeks? At this rate, we'll need 4 more threads before we even get to due dates!

Elibean · 16/09/2006 16:06

AQ, thanks!

I was wondering at what point we'd be needing a new thread....

Calmriver · 16/09/2006 20:31

Hi Guys, haven't caught up on my reading for a while, I will do tomorrow and see what you guys are all up to, but just to let you know that DD's head became engaged a couple of nights ago. My bump is now lower and I feel a lot less full all the time! Quite nice now actually.

Made me smile just now, sat waiting for the thread to download and thought 'we're going to need a new one before long'. Hate to think how long it takes on dial up!! And everyone else is thinking the same. If we leave it until next week then we'll all be 27 wks plus and all into the 3rd trimester. How scary is that. I can't believe how fast this pg is going.

Elibean · 16/09/2006 21:39

I was with a friend today, who is six weeks ahead of me, and she started talking about being due in 3-4 weeks
OK, she is having a planned section at 38-39 weeks, but still. Sent me into a mild panic, which had me washing all the baby clothes various friends have kindly given me...and the reusable nappies I've been given too...so: I'm sitting amidst piles of to-be-washed stuff, to-be-dried stuff, to-be-washed-hotter stuff, and dd decides to have two pee accidents in a row for the first time in ages. Which means more piles of washing (she was on the bathmat for one, on the sofa for the other!). That'll teach me not to panic, eh...
Though its so nice, and so weird, seeing teeny baby things on the clothes horse drying...honestly never thought I'd see that again, feels like a hallucination

Olihan · 16/09/2006 21:57

Oh, I remember getting out all the newborn stuff when I was expecting dd and being so shocked by how tiny they were. Much more shocked than when I first bought them for ds, strangely. I just couldn't imagine him ever having been that small and fitting into something so tiny. I also remember looking at ds after dd was born when dh brought him to see me in hospital and he seemed so huge. He's a big boy for his age but he just looked enormous after the teeny bundle I'd been cuddling all night.

Oohhhh, I'm getting all emotional remembering that time. Seems like so long ago but was only a year and 3 weeks. My babies are growing up too fast .

jabberwocky · 16/09/2006 23:41

I think you're right about most hiatal hernias, elibean, since they're more annoying than dangerous typically. However, since they are going to be in there anyway...maybe go for a two for one deal

I have no baby clothes atm. I don't know if I posted on this thread or not, but I loaned out all of ds's 0 - 6 month things and didn't get them back! I was very about it but nothing to be done now. I'm waiting until a few more weeks go by to get busy.

jabberwocky · 17/09/2006 11:35

Very quiet on the thread today - and I'm up with insomnia since 3:30 am! Just bought some new baby Gap infant socks on ebay and I finally scored a Storchenwiege baby wrap-style sling. I hope it lives up to the hype as it was twice as much as some of the others. I've had it on my search list for 4 months and this was the first one that came up. Still saved a bit, though.

magnolia1 · 17/09/2006 12:12

I have a cold

Went out for dinner etc... with mums from school last night and felt like shit but still stayed out till 1am. Got home but felt shit so layed on Sofa, Dh came down at 4am with the raving hump and basically said this morning he reckoned I got in at 4am but pretended I had been there since 1!!!!

Stupid TWAT!!!! Showed him a text I had sent friend at 1.35am saying I was home etc.... That shut him up!!!!

To top it off I feel even more shitty today and he thinks its coz I went out so no sympathy

Wait till the f%*ker is ill

Sorry rant over

Baretoes · 17/09/2006 14:04

I am no longer Morningnewspaper - I was encroaching on someone else's ID inadvertently. I was hoping to get away with it so at least something in my life could be the same but I had a couple of comments, so now I have given in and got a new name
Magnolia - did he think you were out painting the tiles red or something?? How extraordinary!

jabberwocky · 17/09/2006 15:58

Poor magnolia, I went off on my dh when I was sick last week. No sympathy from him and I was in the bed all day one day!

lubella · 17/09/2006 17:56

Hi All - I am due 15th Dec and wanted to join the thread. I am starting to get excited / nervous at the same time..I do also have a question.
Do I have to book Ante natal classes myself or will my midwife do automatically - she told me the hospital and times my one would be held at first meeting and wrote down on my notes...is that it???

jabberwocky · 17/09/2006 19:15

Hi lubella, we have the same due date! Although mine's a section so I'll beat you by about 10 days

Not sure how it is in the UK. I'm in the US and we have to book our own birth classes.

Rubystar77 · 17/09/2006 19:57

hi lubelle.. i'm due 12th dec, hoping to be early and not too late, my daughter is 1 on 28th nov so could even fall on the same day!
i think you have to ring hospital and book it your self, i never bothered going to it though as i done aquanatal classes last year and decided that was enough infomation..(class taken by midwife)
any one going for a water birth? i had one last year it was really good, hoping to have another sucessful water birth this time round...

Redlorry75 · 17/09/2006 20:09

Eveing Everyone

Magnolia - I too have a cold, although it's more of a cough at the moment, but I wake in the morning with a streaming nose. The coughing makes the bump hurt and sneezing mekes me leak
Anyway I hope you're feeling better soon.
Between 2nd and 3rd trimester I had a cold that lasted 8 weeks!

Insomnia has started to creep up on me - got out of bed at 5am yesterday and bought DD in my bed for a cuddle - making the most off DH being at work. Then we were both awake for the rest of the day. Today I stayed in bed till 6, but could'nt stand DH's tutting at my tosing and turning any longer and got up to do my ironing!

Also guess what, I had Chinese for dinner last night, curry sauce, chilli sauce and sweet and sour sauce - and no heartburn!!! I was sure I would get it, but was enjoying my meal so much was prepared to pay the price.

Tonight however I've had one cupcake - not that hungry today, and I have real nasty heartburn! What's that all about?!
