Hi All, thought I would start a 3rd trimester thread, as most are past 23 weeks now!!!

Haven't seen EE for - well, since dd was about one, I think. Whats happening?

I'm so glad I'm not the only one with time-warp syndrome. December feels like an eternity when my legs get restless/piles flare up/heartburn strikes/dd wants carrying/am generally knackered - but the weeks are flying past so much faster than they did with dd1, and at times it feels like far too soon

Actually, suspect the weeks will not feel quite so fast from here on in....getting too uncomfortable for that. Already. Is it a second time around thing, or just age?!

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 20:35

Redlorry, I declined the tests. We thought that since answer wasn't ever going to be definitive (just low or high risk) what was the point?

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 20:36

Billy and Honey's little girl has downs and Honey can't bond with her, they were both crying by the end of the show - and so was I.

December is not far away. I only have 1 full month of work left before going on Mat leave on 27th Nov, when I'll be 38 weeks. (Due Dec 9th)

Old man in shop said to me today - not long now!!!!! And in that instance I though yes there is - weird!

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 20:38

Hi Gloria,

I declined with DD, as my mum declined with me - and she was 43! I was 28 with DD - am 31 now. I had 2 MC's between babies and this one is so wanted that I will take whatever him upstairs see fit to bless me with.

And as you say tests are'nt conclusive and you either go into false sense of security or spend the rest of the PG worrying.

lucy5 · 08/09/2006 20:40

I didn't have the tests, I missed the first as I didn't get round to them and I was offered an amnio because of my age but declined it. I have a bit of a thing about this at the moment, i was the same with dd.

Elibean · 08/09/2006 20:43

I declined tests too, both with dd and now. Both times over 40. But it took us years and years to have our babies, and lots of miscarriages, so....
I did have the nuchal scan and nasal bone checks though, and they were reassuring, which helped.

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 20:44

I'm constantly worrying about one thing or another and probably am following the advice a bit too much (not had a drink since April, but who's counting ) but I didn't like the idea of the tests and the decisions / effects that would come from the results

lucy5 · 08/09/2006 20:46

I basically decided that I wouldn't have done anything anyway but with Eastenders it seems to be everywhere at the moment. No offence meant to people with children with downs.

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 20:53

The troouble with being PG is that we all worry about everything anyway.

Although have to say as much as it took to get PG this time round (18 months, DD was instant after MC -which was also an instant conception) I am far less prescious about the whole thing, and tonight treated meself to two runny poached eggs - and I am eating peanuts! Both of which MW has said will be oaky in v.v.v small quanities.
And I think DH is more worried when I do stuff like that.

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 20:57

I guess I'm the only one on this thread who had an amnio. I did worry a bit beforehand about problems with/after the amnio, but once we got the all clear results I was soooo much more relaxed. I had it with ds also.

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 20:58

I declined the triple tests offered around 14 weeks, they lead to the amnio dont they?

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 20:59

Its's daft I know but I almost feel like i should have something bad to go through to get something good at the end (ie healthy baby). Apart from some pelvic pain, have felt really well almost all the time (sorry to those who are suffering!). Sacrifices in what I do / don't eat / drink are my way of self-punishment!!!!

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 20:59

I didn't bother with the triple screen as 1) it's only a risk assessment, not conclusive and 2) we knew we were going to opt for the amnio anyway because of my age.

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 21:00

Maybe you'll get some really impressive swelling at the end.

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 21:02

Judging by size of bump alreay, Jabberwocky, I think you could be a psychic!!!!!!

Elibean · 08/09/2006 21:04

Or piles....

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 21:06

or really bad chronic indigestion!

weirdbird · 08/09/2006 21:06

Or a really really long labour, or is that too mean???

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 21:09

You have me worrying now - so I say perhaps just high blod pressure from worrying.....

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 21:12

I have just added about 10 cardigans to my watch list on e-bay for DD, she has grown out of her so fast.

Have back ache now from sitting here all night and in front of PC all day at work - going to go.

Night Night

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 21:16

how about a little constipation?

Elibean · 08/09/2006 22:18

Jabberwocky, tsk tsk

Time difference is clearly in your favour here, the rest of us are getting too sleepy to think up 'orrible 3rd trimester symptoms now...

Elibean · 08/09/2006 22:20

Oooo wait, sleeplessness: one of my least favourites. After piles, that is.

Gloria, I actually think your punishment is having to 'nurse' the rest of us through our ailments...far easier to suffer, baby...

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 22:30

honestly, i go away for an hour and come back to an A-Z of pregnancy complaints!!!!! Just as well I have a GSOH!

Calmriver · 08/09/2006 22:32

Has anyone else's boobs been leaking?

It happened early with DD1 and first time this preg was at 19 weeks, but not much, just tiny amounts.
