Thanks for the burrito link!

Oh, I want to knit something for my baby! If only I knew how to knit.

I am now having serious bursting out of bra problems. I promised myself the next one I got, when I outgrew this one, would be non wired. So I'm in deep denial.

Lol @ spina not really sitting on the sofa or in the bathroom. But what if you drop the laptop down the loo? Safety first!

Loulou000 · 08/09/2006 12:43

Oh and I bought my first christmas presents last night. Nice warm glow of achievement. Only about 20 times as many presents again to go now.

weirdbird · 08/09/2006 13:59

My order of Xmas wrapping paper arrived yesterday, I had run out so have wrapped up lots more pressies.

Hubby is working from home today so of course to show him how much work I get done while he is at work, I spent 2 hours chatting to my friend on the phone this morning!

Good news is that I have swapped midwives and the new one is lovely and I feel much happier and baby has moved out of breach position its been in for about the last 2 weeks, which is great and much more comfortable!

Bring on the home birth!!

Morningnewspaper · 08/09/2006 16:10

Oh I would love a home birth but am far too anxious incase anything goes wrong. I am such a worry bean!
I do think that everyone must knit - I taught myself using Google and the local wool shop! It's so easy and I have almost finished the back of an 'ethinic' cardigan. Very proud of myself!

Morningnewspaper · 08/09/2006 16:11

by the way - how long am I likely to end up in hospital after the birth?? I would love to be out immediately but I guess that won't happen

lucy5 · 08/09/2006 16:14

If it's a straightforward birth they don't keep you very long. I had dd at 10 o'clock at night on a wednesday and was out by lunchtime on the friday.

pedilia · 08/09/2006 16:15

Hi all

I am joining this thread thanks to accesorizequeen

Due December 27th with number 3!!

lucy5 · 08/09/2006 16:16

Hi and welcome, don't get sucked in as they are all shopaholics on here !

castlesintheair · 08/09/2006 16:25

Welcome pedilia!

If you are in London, MNP, and have natural birth, no complications etc, they like to get rid of you asap i.e. that day (most women have babies in early hours) but I think you can plead to stay longer. If you have a c-section you stay in 3 nights at London NHS hospitals except if it is no.3 or more.

SH27 · 08/09/2006 16:28

Hi everyone,

Many thanks to accessorizequeen for her invite to join this thread.

I am due 2nd December with my 2nd child - first one is 10 years old!! I feel pretty rubbish most of the time and seem to be having element after element!!!

Still it is a much wanted and waited for baby so shouldn't moan too much!

castlesintheair · 08/09/2006 16:38

Welcome SH27 too! Plenty of moaning going on here (mostly from me ) so you won't feel alone.

lucy5 · 08/09/2006 16:41

Hello and welcome. I love a good moan too. I will have a six year age gap when this one is born. I have had a horrible pregnancy and will be glad when it's over. Never again is all I can say. just thought I'd start a bit of moaning for you

castlesintheair · 08/09/2006 16:51

Lucy, I've been saying "never again" throughout the whole of this pregnancy, plus the last two

SH27 · 08/09/2006 16:58

So glad to hear other moans. I feel very ungrateful being a moany old bag, but this really has been a horrible pregnany. You name it, I have had it.

Today I feel sick, have a backache and I am so tired as I was up to the loo 5 times in the night - oh and I hot hot flushes this morning too!! Nice!!

I think I am turning into a hypochondriac with this pregnancy!!

I was so healthy in the last one, but 10 years ago I was 25!!!

Elibean · 08/09/2006 18:25

Welcome SH and pedilia! And SH, apart from the fact that you're in good company 'cos we're excellent at moaning (and shopping, and eating chocolate) here, you are not allowed to call yourself a moany old bag. I have ten years on you

MN, I'm so impressed you taught yourself to knit from GOOGLE - ! My local wool shop is great at helping new knitters, they'll bend over backwards to encourage anyone - I've even been known to take a muddled stitch in for emergency help.

Weirdbird...wrapping paper...impressed again! I have now got pretty much all of dd's Xmas and birthday (22nd Dec, urgh) presents, but had utterly forgotten about wrapping. Next on my list...give me something to do while she's at nursery on Monday, other than worry/weep

Jabberwocky, thanks for the burrito link!

Elibean · 08/09/2006 18:28

And just to prove the point (on moaning), here's mine: I have a particuarly nasty, painful, little PILE today.

On the other hand, I think I've just hit the third trimester - 27 weeks, yes?? If so, hurrah!

pedilia · 08/09/2006 18:29

oh no poor you I have had piles in every pregnancy including this one

and my pelvic pain is making walking very painful not sure how I am going to stay at work until 8 1/2 months

Calmriver · 08/09/2006 18:52

HI All, had my first driving lesson today and was like Sandra Bullock in Speed!!!

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 19:01

Think I might have missed this earlier in the thread, but can somenoe tell me when 3rd trimester starts ? Think i might be trespassing at only 24wks + 3

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 19:20

Don't worry Gloria. I think we started the 3rd trimester thread a bit prematurely. IIRC it's around 26 - 27 weeks, but we're all December mommas anyway

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 19:32

Fimgers crossed anyway, Jabberwocky! Don't think I have the patience to wait after the 26th!

jabberwocky · 08/09/2006 19:34

Actually, I just hit 26 weeks yesterday! I vacillate between thinking December is really far away and worrying that it is right around the corner.

weirdbird · 08/09/2006 19:53

I am only just at 24 weeks...

Another 13 weeks to go and they will let me give birth at home! Though if I go to term it almost definitely wont happen because of the staffing levels over Xmas

One minute that sounds like FOREVER and I will be the size of a house and then the next minute I keep thinking that, thats really soon and the reality that I am going to have to actually give birth to this thing hits!!!!!!!

You'd think I would have thought of this part of the equation before deciding to have another one..

Somehow giving birth seemed a lot less of a big deal when I a) wasnt pregnant and b) wasn't this big.

Or am I just strange?

Gloria42 · 08/09/2006 20:19

Glad to hear you don't get any less nervous after the first time! We start work on the Nursery this weekend - OMG that makes it real (as if this massive bump isn't enough!)

Redlorry75 · 08/09/2006 20:27

Is anyone watching Eastenders - it is absolutley heartbreaking.

Have just reminded DH I did not have the tests either - did anyone esle decline them?
