Hello All! Sorry to hear about your neice liahgen, what a dilemmaa. If you're close, perhaps she'd be more upset if you didn't tell her your lovely news sooner rather than later?

I'm hanging on for a few weeks to tell my friend. We were both trying, although me for 6 weeks, her for almost a year. Clomid etc... She hasn't mentioned getting a/f last week so I'm hoping she announces first!

Just to introduce... I got a BFP two days ago. Thrilled. EDD 19/05. 2 days before my dd's 12th birthday! Hence the nickname...

liahgen · 09/09/2006 09:51

Morning all, hope everyone having good weekend,Welcome twelveyeargap, our little gang is growing daily. Nausea kicking in now. Trecked round car boot this morning, bit fresh air helps, treated myself to some lemons!! things we do eh?? my friend swears by anything fizzy. Thanks for your advice ladies, i think you're right, obviously my niece will be sad but better to come from me than have her guess and wonder why i didn't tell her. I hope your friend gets her result this monthe twelveyeargap, that would be lovely for you to share your pregnancies. Have good weekend all.

twelveyeargap · 09/09/2006 13:33

Oh dear. Hope it wears off soon. Was lucky with #1, wasn't sick. Hoping it will be the same with this one. Do have a DISGUSTING taste in my mouth like I just licked some scaffolding. Urgh.
Very pleased to be on here indulging my every baby-whim today. Reading old threads about what people think of pushchairs and that kind of thing. DH couldn't contain himself and has just told his parentals - which is great, as it paves the way for me to tell loads of people.
DD's Dad has just arrived to take her out for the day so am thoroughly enjoying my solitude.

Just hijacking this thread to say Hi and congrats to nicola63. Everything crossed for you

aprilmeadow · 10/09/2006 14:36

Hi there - i did manage to get on my holidays - YAY!!! The weather is lovely but i am burnt to a crisp! The doc gave me some tablets called Avomine to help with the sickness. He didnt seem to think that it was a bug. He did tell me that i should be careful in the sun as my skin is more sensitive now that i am pg - did i listen..... NO!

Hope everyone is well xx

Nicola63 · 10/09/2006 15:11

Doing ok pg-wise but feeling like c* because of a bad cold which has hit me out of nowhere, coughing, sneezing, blocked nose, headache etc. Don't want to risk taking any meds so just taking a few strepsils, and tea. Hope evryone else is doing better!

largeginandtonic · 10/09/2006 15:27

Hello everyone, may be a bit ahead of myself joining your group as have not been brave enough to do a test yet. Have not had a period since 27th july but have long cycle 40 days or so. Think i should do a test yet?

twelveyeargap · 10/09/2006 18:50

Yes! If your cycle is 40 days you're past your due date now. The digital clearblue test is great. V quick and there's no "is it or isn't it a line" messing about. Good luck!

snuggles3 · 10/09/2006 19:10

Oh dear, Pregnancy Head is kicking in, sorry everyone!

LUCIA22 · 10/09/2006 21:05

Hi
Found out last week that I am about 5-6 weeks. I am 35 and this is my first so it is all new and scary. This site is a fantastic & I am looking forward to keeping up with everyones progress. Have had really painful cramps for about the last week, getting worse over the last couple of days. Have got quite worried about it No bleeding so hopefully all is well. Was told to take paracetamol if necessary as they are keeping me awake at night. I had never heard of this before. Is anyone else having this problem?

MsDolly · 10/09/2006 21:16

Hi Lucia - I think some people do suffer from cramps - I think maybe a sign of everything stretching? I had some cramping last night after dinner, but it eased off after about 15 mins. Can understand that it is a huge worry. Congratulations btw!!

largeginandtonic · 10/09/2006 21:18

I expect all it is is your uterus expanding, when you get pregnant massive amounts of the hormone relaxin are released this just means everything slightly soft in your body goes a bit wibble. For example a common side effect is a runny nose, the tissues in the nose loosen up and more discharge is secreted! Gross i know, when i get pregnant it always feels like a/f is on the way. Its just those crampy muscles giving way to baby hormones. The first of many

largeginandtonic · 10/09/2006 21:37

just read over the thread some of you guys have been here ages already! I didnt give stats so will do now, have twin boys 7, dd6, ds4, ds18mts. I know i know but its only 5! Hopefully 6 soon, am off to get test tom after twelveyeargap advice. You wud think id know by now, its just my cycle all changed after the last one and i have just got married so have a different partner this time. In fact im sure i know less each time, pregnancy hormones building up perhaps!

SKYTVADICT · 11/09/2006 09:50

Good morning all - hello and welcome to everyone new.

I am at work all week full time and really don't know how I am going to make it! (Usually only work Thursday and Fridays)

Feeling sick on and off all day, every day - not actually been sick yet - but also extremely tired.

Don't think I'll be able to keep up the pretence as I am having to eat at odd times (ie when I feel like it)

canyoukeepasecret · 11/09/2006 09:54

Hello there

Found out a week ago am expecting on 11 May. Already have one DD who is 13 months. Am v excited. We are telling our parents today. But noone else til after scan (booked for 2 November!). Feeling pretty rubbish and hard when cant tell anyone. Giving up breastfeeding DD as boobs just too sore and dont want to tandem feed. Yesterday was the first day ever in DD's life no b feeding! This is so good to find others with similar EDDs without revealing who i am ! Thinking of you all.....

geordiemacminx · 11/09/2006 10:20

Re sickness... preggy pops arrived on sat morning. They seem to be making me a little less queasy although I am sure that they are just boiled sweets/normal lollies.... and that normal ones would do the same thing. I dont think that they are a miracle cure..they just take your mind off it for a little while and give you a sugar buzz. Dont think I will be ordering anymore... not at £16 for 14 lollies and 20 sucky sweets....

novadandypowder · 11/09/2006 10:28

hello, I'm on the March thread, but love to gate crash new threads as it makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere.

I got some preggy pops but found they made me feel sick, so if anyone wants them (I have some lollies and some sucky sweets) then email your address to me and I'll get them in the post. Don't want anything for them, it just seems a shame to throw them away if someone else would like to try them. My email is my MN talk name at hotmail dot com.

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2006 10:58

SKYTVADICT · 11/09/2006 11:12

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2006 11:15

Thanx so much skytv thats the first congrats ive had! How far along are you? Just put my dates in to a due date calc but it says im due 3rd may, but cos my cycle is long im scared the midwife will give me due date 2 early. I dont want to be hounded by docs at the end when i know im not that far along. What can i do?

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2006 11:24

Should probably change my nickname! There will be no more large gin and tonics for quite some time. Perhaps i should call myself orangejuice........
