Morning!!

I have no instinct as to what this baby will be but then again i didnt with my boys, i think ive always wanted a girl so much that ive tried notto think about when pg. I tried the chinese method of gender selection last night and according to that i will have a boy, its supposed to be a load of old tosh but checking back to when i was pg with the boys it said then i would have boys so maybe it is right.

its ds2's birthday on Sunday and so we are having a small party. No ones knows yet but as is usual within our families, the adults are always supplied with alcohol (not excessively though!!) and of course i cant drink, im sure someone will put two and two together esp as its not normal for me to turn down a glass of wine . Im also putting on weight and although it probably sounds silly as its stilll early days but im sure i look about 5months gone already. I showed early with ds2 but not this much, i know your stomach muscles are weaker by the time you get to your 3rd child but this is ridiculous. At this rate everyone will be asking 'havent you had it yet' when im still only 6 months into the pregnancy lol

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 09:37

Morning everyone, i feel not too bad at the moment. Have eaten huge bowl of allbran and bannana to try and stop the constipation im already suffering from
Am going to phone my midwife and ask her what the deal is with scans here as i have this nagging feeling that there is more than one baby in there. I soooo hope im wrong, one set of twins is enough and it would mean id have 7 children!! May change my name to old woman who lived in a shoe......

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 09:44

LargeG&T - what makes you think there is more than 1 in there? Perhaps your right, there may be more than 1, it could be triplets Just thought i would cheer you up lol

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 09:47

Ha have just phoned midwife, shes away but very nice midwife said she would get someone to phone me back today. Hate phoning people, ohmigod midwife just phoned me back while typing message. She says im too early to be seen and must wait till im 10-12 weeks! Dont know if that means i will get a scan then or not
Anyway nice to speak to a midwife even if only for a minute.
Am 7+1 today so only 3-5 weeks to wait, will know if its more than one in there by then as will be in my maternity clothes!

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 09:50

Oh pebble you kill me, that is not even funny. 8 children would be a koke, but i have always had a name picked out for #8, quite like octavious or octavia depending of course!

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 09:52

koke, i meant joke! Pregnancy has muffled my super intellect of course, i was razor sharp before i started having babies

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 09:54

Jonahb is that your ds name? I have a jonah, never met another one before.

SKYTVADICT · 22/09/2006 09:55

Morning all

I'm not feeling too bad today either. Nausea kicks in later in the day at the mo along with the tiredness.

Just found out last night that the wife of DPs best mate at work is pregnant (their first) and due on 25 April. Really happy for them but feel that if anything happens to our baby this time I don't know how I'll cope. DP says not to be so silly as something could equally happen to their baby and we all just have to wait and see. They are a lot younger than us. Pregnancy hormones I suppose are making me think too much !!

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 09:58

Why do feel that something may happen skytv? Im sure it will be ok sending you some baby glue

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 10:00

Octavious isnt he in Xmen or something?? I bet you wouldnt fnd another child with those names in the same class, every name i choose for mine ends up going from being quite rare to popular as soon as ive registered them When naming ds2 we had a choice of two and i went for Ethan only to discover that three of my old schoolfriends have called their sons that and everytime i go out i hear someone shouting it out! Ds1 has a name that when i came up with it, it was just for boys and was rare then a big busty model came on the scene using it and then girls were named it, poor ds1 had 1boy and 1 girl with the same name as him in his class when he started school

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 10:04

My next door neighbour has an ethan
I loved the name tallulah and then every celebrity started using it, i still love it but not sure id use it this time. I like Arthur and Jemmimah at the moment.

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 10:07

Sorry you are feeling anxious SkyTv. I think all of us get panicky at this point its only natural. I had a m/c before having ds1 and my dr thinks i had an early one before falling for ds2 so im on tenderhooks at the mo too. Every little niggle/ache has me thinking the worst. I just want to get past the 12wk stage so i know there is more chance of everything being ok (although m/c no1 happened at 20wks )

Its best to try not to think about what could happen, i know its hard but if oyu dont you will spend the first trimester in a panic and forget all the joy being pg brings - nausea, constipation, getting fat, sore boobs, heartburn, sciatica etc ect

SKYTVADICT · 22/09/2006 10:09

Coz of the previous MC LG&T. Some days feel positive others I just don't. Today is one of them!

I like the names Evie, Lexxie and Amelia all followed by Grace as a middle name. Haven't a clue for a boy? Trying not to get too attached though. I know DP wouldn't go for Lexxie as his surname starts with "L" but I think it sounds ok.

Have two girls at the mo and would love another.

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 10:16

Keep positive skytv at least you have all of us to talk to. It is so nice to have people in the same situation to chat to, i dont end up boring all my friends with baby talk every 2 mins too. Lots of them dont even have babies yet and i get the inevitable eye roll if i go on about it to much!

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 10:17

Ive got 3 girls names - bethany, rhianna, Allana May but none for a boy as yet. I want something that isnt too popular this time but not too weird either IYKWIM.

aprilmeadow · 22/09/2006 11:24

When pg with DS i changed my mind several times. I had a list of William, Jack, Joshua and for girls i wanted Maddison, Daisy, Aimee. We chose Jack in the end, which suits him to a T. This time DH likes George for a boy and we like Ella for a girl. Both these names ds can say as we know children/people with the same names.

Pebble, I know what you mean about looking huge already. its a joke it really is. It a good job that work know because if they didnt i am sure they would have guessed by now. I look pretty flat (ish) in the mornings, but by the time i go home its definately grown to about 5mths! And if anyone else makes a joke about' ooh it might be twins' then i might just swing for them!!

Had 2 yummy breakfasts today. The first one was porridge and then the second was once i had got to work when a colleague went an got a MacDonalds sausage mcMuffin for everyone!!!! YUMMMMMMY

mummymelling · 22/09/2006 11:43

Mornin Hunnies, we have nicknamed our little bean WALTER at the moment, really funny with iur surname pmsl, DH thinks ive gone very mad with hormones ranging, but bless him he did the BIG FOOD SHOP last night all on his own cus i was wiped out, ahhh!!!

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 11:47

ooh you are making me hungry. Im off to Toys r Us to buy ds2's birthday prezzies, im sure he will want everything he sees I cant believe that this time 3yrs ago i was waiting for him to make an appearance, he was already 6days late so i had another 2 to go, not that i knew that at the time. I remember thinking that every twinge was the start of labour. Now im going to be going through it all again. Hopefully this one will either be a couple of days early on on time like ds1. Im not very good with waiting, very impatient, which is why i know this pg is going to drag but at least i have you lot on here to share it with this time, we can get fed up with waiting together

mummymelling · 22/09/2006 11:55

Have fun shopping, and ill bet you have a nosey in babies are us while you are there!!! lol

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 12:03

of course, well if i can drag ds2 away from the toys

JonahB · 22/09/2006 12:40

LG&T, Jonah was the nickname I gave my first bump, unfortunately, I subsequently m/c. When I got pgt again with DS, I got a bit superstitious and couldn?t even consider naming him Jonah. I do, however, love the name. My DS has got another biblical name. I really like those style names, like Ethan. Unfortunately, my cousin beat me to that one .

Sky, 3 girls?? Do have have no desire to ever see your bathroom mirror or make-up again???

I?ve just remembered from last time round what an awful distraction MN is. My job is PC based, and my mind keeps drifting away from important work matters to overwhelming desires to sit on my a*se and catch up on here. Here?s to 8 months of pure, unadulterated loafing, whilst pretending to be studious and focused!!!!

mummymelling · 22/09/2006 15:33

my grandad was called Jonas, spose its sort of biblical, ive always liked Kezia i believe thats biblical as well..i havent got a clue what we are going to call Walter[our bean]DH suggested Morphious or Neo guess what films he likes, spose thats better than his first choice of Bruce Wayne after his alltime hero Batman

pebblemum · 22/09/2006 16:18

My dh is also a big Matrix fan and thinks that if we have a girl that she will be called Trinidy (i thought it was spelt Trinity but dh knows better). The thing is i dont like it (theres a girl up the road called it and shes horrible!!) so somehow I have to convince dh that one of the names i like is better

I went to Toys r us but didnt get chance to look in the babies section, my MIL was with us and she doesnt know yet, i did try to have a sneaky peak and saw some lovely little clothes.

mummymelling · 22/09/2006 16:29

haha!! yup my DH suggested that as well[i thought6 it was trinity] live and learn i suppose.men are such strange creatures, but apart from those film type names mine cant come up with any sensible suggestions

largeginandtonic · 22/09/2006 16:29

Afternoon all. Names are a nightmare! The last 2 ds ive had were not named for 6 weeks, im rubbish, well actually exp was rubbish he would not discuss names till the baby was born and then say no, no,no
This time i have yummy new dh and he says im allowed to chose whatever i want
Have not told him that i almost named dd Buttercup (love the movie the princess bride)it would have been funny though, not for her. She would probably have been nicknamed BUT by some evil child by now. You just dont think of these things when you are looking at your cute little bundle
