I am due 3 May too, according to the BBC website calendar but could be a day either way.

largeginandtonic · 11/09/2006 21:28

Have not told dh yet as he is away, want to tell him but it will have to be over the phone. Any ideas how i can do it?

jessinwa · 12/09/2006 16:47

largeG&T, i hope you have figured out how to tell your dh by now. when does he get home? can you wait to tell him in person?
hello everyone else too! i can't believe how many new mamas-to-be have joined. welcome all, and be sure to post in the stats thread when you get a minute.
i am officially joining the ms crew. my appetite is all messed up and i feel like i am going to vom all day. to top it all off, i think my son knows when i am feeling the worst. he has a knack for filling his diaper with the most foul poo you have ever smelled when i am at the height of nauseousness. like right now. thanks a lot, little man.
hope all of you are feeling well enough and getting lots and lots of rest. i am off to change mr stinkypants.

Good evening ladies, whoever called it morning sickness was having a laugh weren't they??? How about, any time of day or night, any kind of smell starts it off sickness?!! hormones. Hope large g&t told your dh, bet he can't wait to get home now. Has anyone else had problems with ketones? have some detected at hospital yesterday, and can be sign diabetes, starvation!! erm.. definately not, ha ha, dehydration. Don't really know lot about it, if anyone had experience, be glad to share it with me. Have good evening all.

largeginandtonic · 12/09/2006 21:10

Evening al have just managed to get all five tucked up in bed, peace at last. DH found out last nite, he phoned late and asked far to many questions. I couldnt not tell him although i really wanted to wait till i saw him. It wont be for another 6 weeks tho not sure i cud have kept i quiet that long. He was so excited i nearly cried. DD just came down for a hug and squished my boobs, aaaagh. Feeling ok apart from that, craving milk n cheese.

Have had ketones before in other pregnancies but only cos ive not eaten or drunk enough. Have a marsbar chopped up in the freezer so yum.

SKYTVADICT · 13/09/2006 10:23

Hi all

I'm absolutely shattered all the time! Feel sick on and off but not been so bad the last couple of days. I don't think working full time is helping the tiredness - can't wait til Friday!

I was 20 mins late to work this morning so not been a good days so far and now I'm on here. Must go and do some work.

geordiemacminx · 13/09/2006 10:36

yep, know exactly how you feel, been really sicky for the past week or so, which is wearing me out. On top of that I have developed a furry tongue.. nice eh? Luckily I have managed to get a doctors appointment today... The nurse informed me it might be thrush (Sorry if TMI) which made me even more sick!!! Happy days!!

Bensonbluebird · 13/09/2006 13:06

Hello Hello,

Very pleased to meet you all.

BBB joining here, due on the 11th May. 33, with ds aged 20 months.

Hasn't quite sunk in yet as even though I was sure I was prego almost right away. I've got that heightened sense of smell thing, almost had to get off the bus a couple of times recently due to smelly man and smelly dog!

My top morning sickness tip is sleep, followed by ginger and vitamin B6, seemed to work well for me first time around. My DS has obligingly just started to sleep a full 12 hours having been an early riser since birth. Fingers crossed I'll be okay this time too.

largeginandtonic · 13/09/2006 21:03

Lovely to have you with us bensonbluebird.

Am going to bed not been able to stop all day am just so incredibly tired. Apart from that feel ok though so shouldnt complain.

for anyone who has bad MS heard a new tip 2day, when you get up for an inevitable wee in the nite have a cereal bar next to your bed, have a few bites before going back to sleep. This apparantly stops you feeling so nauseous when you wake in the morning. Im not sick yet so have not tried it but it sounds like a good idea.

Nite nite hope your days have been ok

pebblemum · 15/09/2006 19:06

Hi I got my BFP at 5am this morning (was up with toothache so thought i may as well test) I have felt pregnant though for the past few weeks ie very tender nipples, going off certain food, strange achy feeling in tummy.

I still havent told Dh though he was in a funny mood earlier so have decided to suprise him this weekend over a nice meal. We had been talking about having another (already have 2 ds's aged 9 and almost 3)but then last week he said we should wait-oops too late He will be ok with it though once he has got over the shock

My edd is 23rd May which is ds1's birthday!!

aprilmeadow · 16/09/2006 09:36

oh my god! i go away for a week and the thread goes mad!! Welcome to all the newcomers

Morning sickness is definately a joke! This is now week 4 of non stop sickness. The tablets did nothing to help the sickness apart from make me more sleepy. Holiay was good but i really couldnt wait to get home.

I have my booking in appt on Monday pm which i am quite looking forward to.

Looking forward to chatting to you all over the coming months x

largeginandtonic · 17/09/2006 12:18

Welcome pebble!
Hope everyone ok, we have all been a bit quiet this weekend. Ive had adult company this weekend, my cousin came to stay! As dh is away and i only moved here in july dont have any friends yet. Pebble you said you live in portsmouth, so do i! Im in Alverstoke in Gosport are you any where near me?
Am feeling ok just wiped out, busting out of my jeans already. Still, love this stage its like walking round with a lovely secret. Makes me smile to myself alot

MsDolly · 17/09/2006 17:22

Evening all and hope everyone is well. have been away for a family knees-up this weekend - had to claim I was on antibiotics therefore couldn't drink, as I am usually one of the last to be kicked out of the hotel bar! My sister and brother know though, so that made it a bit easier. Had to buy a couple of new bras yesterday, have gone from 34 to 36C already, one is a proper maternity bra and the other is a sports bra. They are so comfortable that I nearly cried when the woman fitted them in Debenhams! Trouble is though, as I haven't been with dp THAT long (as mentioned previously), I kind of feel like I still need to be an alluring sex goddess. We don't live together yet so when he sees these bras, he'll probably leg it!

aprilmeadow · 18/09/2006 14:39

Hi there, I have just been for my booking in appointment, so i now feel properly pregnant!! MW has put my EDD back 1 day to 3rd May. I should have my 12weeks scan w/c 16th October and then see the MW again on the 20th November!! Thats for the 16week appt, that feels like ages away.

LOL MsDolly re bras! I have gone from a 34C to a 34D already, not quite ready for maternity bras yet.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

largeginandtonic · 18/09/2006 15:59

Hello all, hope your all well.

Must be lovely to have had your booking in appt, it does feel like you really are pregnant afterwards. I see my doc on weds and then i guess the midwife after that.
Its new to me here as i only moved to portsmouth in july so dont even know if i get a 12week scan or not. Does anyone know?
Our due dates are the same aprilmeadow! I wonder if we will have the same delivery date, maybe but it will probably be 2 weeks after our due date!

pebblemum · 18/09/2006 18:06

Hi LargeG&T I actually live near Havant but its still not too far away from you, about 20-30min drive i think.

I am getting really fed up with my sore nipples, they feel like they are on fire. I have taken to wearing bras 24/7 as its the only thing that seems to help (poor dh isnt even allowed to look at them they hurt that much) I never had this with my other two so maybe its sign that this one could be a girl (fingers xed)Im feeling more tired than usual, and am weeing a lot more but apart from that it all feels like a dream. I guess once i see the midwife it will seem more real, i just hope it isnt the same one i had with ds2 she was useless!

I dont know when we are going to tell everyone but we are going away with the in-laws in 2wks and i suppose they may notice if i dont drink or do some of the activities they wanted me to join in with ie abseiling (although i can always claim to be scared of heights)

aprilmeadow · 18/09/2006 19:16

LargeG&T i think everyone gets a 12wk scan its wheather or not they offer a 20wk scan that varies. How come you have to see the GP first? I just went straight ahead and booked in with the MW. Also re due dates, not expecting to see this one until at least the 9th May (ds was 6 days late!)

pebblemum · 18/09/2006 19:34

Aprilmeadow, its common practice where i am to see a doctor first, im not sure why. I have to wait until next Monday before i can see mine so its even longer before i meet the midwife.

My ds2 was 8 days late so i hope i dont have to wait that long this time (ds1 arrived exactly on time, shame hes not that punctual now hes 9)Does anyone know if 3rd babies are usually early or late, quicker labour/longer labour. i did ask my sister but her longest labour only lasted 2hrs start to finish and that was breach I was only in labour with ds2 for 5 1/2 hrs so anything quicker than that would be fine by me (ds1 took 21hrs so do not want a repeat of that)

megandsoph · 18/09/2006 19:53

Hi there is it ok to join this thread please??

I'm due 29th may 07 with my 3rd baby. I found out last week 3 days before AF due.

Never in a million expected to ever post on one of theses threads LOL have been on MN for almost 2 years and love reading theses and the conception boards, this is just crazy!!

aprilmeadow · 18/09/2006 19:57

Welcome and congratulations Meg&Soph

Pebbles, when i was pg with ds i saw the doc first and she just said 'well if the test you did was pos then i suggest you book in with the mw' as she was so helpful i just went straight to mw this time.

InTheseShoes · 18/09/2006 20:08

Hello, I'd like to join the thread, by my calculation I am due number 2 on 23.5.07. My fabulous DS is five, and will be almost six when number two gets here. I have been a member of Mumsnet since it began, but I can't remember my old password for my old name, as I haven't posted (just lurked) for ages. Anyway, I'm 34, and I'm trying to get to grips with the dos and don'ts of pregnancy again, as things have moved on since last time! Very excited for all of us!

largeginandtonic · 18/09/2006 20:22

Wow nebies, very glad to have all of you here with us. Welcome megandsoph and intheseshoes.

Im not sure how it works here so just went with what the receptionist told me. Hope i get 12 wk scan, always reasuring to know its only 1 after having triplets 1st time round (lost 1 at 15 wks)

Pebble it would be great to meet up, we both have babies the same ageish, My youngest ds is 18mths. I have 4 othrs but promise not to bring them!Maybe we cud meet half way, dont know the area but would be guided by you as to where.

April mine were all ova the place in respect to due date, twins were 3 mths early, born at 29wks. DD was born day b 4 her due date, DS3 arrived 10 days late and DS4 was 14 days late! Who knows?

largeginandtonic · 18/09/2006 20:25

Just had a thought pebble what hosp are you with? Will i get a 12 wk scan?

pebblemum · 18/09/2006 20:29

welcome Meg&Soph and InTheseShoes

InTheseShoes - my ds1 was 6 when ds2 came along. It is such a nice age gap. he was old enough to understand that his little brother would take up a lot of my time in the beginning and loved helping out, now ds1 is 9 he loves taking ds2 outside to play football or read him stories. Im not sure how ds2 will feel when this baby arrives.

I never thought i would be posting on one of these threads either Meg&Soph, but then again up until a couple of months ago i was adamant i didnt want another baby

pebblemum · 18/09/2006 20:37

LargeG&T - when i had ds2 i was in the maternity unit at St Mary's in Portsmouth but i think that has moved, they were talking about it a while ago anyway. I cant remember if i had a 12wk scan with ds2 but then again that was a while ago. I hope i get one this time (dont want to wait until 20wks it seems too far away.
I cant believe you are expecting no 6, im already worrying about how im going to cope with 3, i take my hat off to you. It would be nice to meet up i will ask my dh for a suitable place to meet, he knows more about things like that than me
